I have successfully been able to root and install everything on my Mytouch4G just fine, however, when I tried to install my wife's Vibrant, I am stuck. Here is what I have done:
1) I rooted successfully using superoneclickv1.9.1
2) I installed ROM Manager and also downloaded the Auxora ROM to get ready to install
3) When I flash CWM recovery, it says current and latest recover is 2.5.1.2 (concern here that my mytouch says 3.0.2.4 - do different phones install differently with CWM?). When I look at all CWM recoveries I also notice there is two seemingly more current versions available 2.5.1.3 and 2.5.1.4. I have left it at .2 but wondering why all the versions.
4) When I reboot into recovery, I always get the stock recovery and have not been able to get CWM recovery so I am unable to flash my Auxora ROM. I ran update packages numerous times, and get a signature verification error. I have tried a recovery 3e patch that does not work either. I also gave a try at downloading and SDK, but received temp root errors (phone is already rooted).
After reading many posts, I cannot seem to get a direct answer on what I should do to get CWM to actually boot properly, so I can flash a ROM. Someone said to flash the stock JDK rom, but if I can't boot into recovery, how can I flash anything.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
You need to get a program for your pc called odin to get back to stock. you can find that and instructions on how to use it if you search for the daily updated vibrant bible its GREAT

going to stock eclair heres a a great guide
So going back to stock eclair will then allow me to install CWM recovery then load roms?
Every once n a while I haft do the install packages thing twice before it gives me clockwork green
. Hope this helps.. o n btw u should look at some of the other roms in the bible before u try auxora
yes u should go back to stock eclair for every rom, in my opinion. Then after that do the 3 button combo and install packages and u will have to do it twice and then the green screen will kick in and ready to rock a new rom.
i hope this helps
What is your current firmware?
I see you posted over in the "NOOB GUIDE" thread, you should really try to root using the method posted there and not any one click root apps.
This should be the root method everyone uses:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=723479
After root your phone recovery should be blue. Choose "reinstall packages" gives you green recovery(this may need to be repeated multiple times to work possibly including flashing CwMRecovery with ROM manager. I recently did it 5 times b4 i got green recovery)Once you access green recovery chose "apply sdcard:update.zip" go into advanced and choose "reboot recovery" This should give you red recovery. Do a nandroid backup and flash away. Good luck!
Another option you could do is to download SGS kernel flasher from the market and flash a voodoo injected kernel with that app. Then when you boot into recovery you will have red voodoo recovery and you can flash away.
Odin to stock the best way to flash a new rom

The stock 2.2 that Samsung distributed with their Kies tool has a recovery that checks signatures. Everything earlier does not check signatures. So either use something earlier to get CWM running, or use a ROM that doesn't have the stock 2.2 recovery in the first place, or mod your recovery using the method described in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=833423
Using Odin to go back to stock Eclair between your flashes of modded roms has the benefit of taking care of this, and also can clear up left over bits and pieces that may interfere with the proper function of your new ROM.
ok, i followed the instructions and am back to eclair, however, whenever I install packages, it just reboots the phone, not even back into stock recovery. I use the 3 key method and get into recovery, run install packages, and the phone just boots back up...its like it isn't running the update.zip file...
UPD: When i load rom manager and try to reboot into recovery, it says the application superuser permissions has stopped unexpectedly and keeps force closing now....titanium backup wont run now either, my root permissions seem whacked after going back to eclair?
UPD2: I followed instructions to unroot and reroot here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=739300
It removed superuser, then added it back again, but I still get the unexpected error and it appears my root is not in place. I am back to eclair, and now need a certain way to get my root fixed, so I can try and flash CWM recovery. Without root working, it is not letting me. My wife hates me now for doing this to her phone, so those of you that are married, I would appreciate your assistance to get back on her good side...before Mother's day...please? =)
Ok, thanks for all the help, however, I am really back where I started. I can only get stock recovery, and for the life of me, cannot get CW recovery to load. I used ODIN to go back to eclair on the vibrant, have a good root on the phone now, and no matter how many times i reinstall packages i cannot get clockworkmod recovery to load, ever. Any more thoughts out there?
I had this trouble a few months back. Things to check before going into recovery:
You gotta have root access.
Make sure you have debugging on
Install busybox FIRST
Try uninstalling Rom manager and reinstalling the latest version.
apply the recovery for vibrant and let it boot into recovery.
When it boots into recovery Don't try to install packages yet. Just reboot.
Look here for the files:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=833423&highlight=3e+recovery
When it boots up push the update.zip to the sd card on the phone, not the external card.
Run the script and it should reboot back into recovery.
You should now be able to install packages.
This way has always worked for me.

thanks...It is rooted, but not sure about busybox...the stock recovery is 2e now since I went back to eclair, so not sure i should follow that link as it talks about modifying 3e and making it backwards compatable. I did use that process before I went back to eclair, and it didn't work for me. I have uninstalled rom manager, and reinstalled...and it is different in that it shows a flashed recovery 2.5.1.2, and never asks me for my phone type anymore...it used to ask me and i had to select vibrant....is the recovery supposed to be 2.5.1.2? when I show all recoveries it lists .1, .2, .3, .4 so wondering if I should use .3 or .4...why does it stay at .2?

OK>>> I GOT IT... Thanks to everyone who helped...Here is what was needed:
1) Install ODIN, install back to eclair
2) uninstall ROM Manager, reinstall
3) I needed to select the 2.5.1.2 recovery from the list again (this was important as it somehow knew of the previous load, but files were missing, or something was just wrong.) It finally loaded properly, and asked for phone type again, so selected vibrant
4) I rebooted into recovery, and instead of install packages, i rebooted once, as starkiller suggested
5) After reboot, went back into recovery from rom manager, and this time installed updates, and it showed that it replaced the recovery with CWM.
6) It rebooted into stock recovery however, so I once again selected install updates, and it went right into CWM recovery, and now I am flashing happy!!!
Thanks again everyone...this was soooooo different than my mytouch4g!
If you have the Kies update of Froyo, the 3e mod will sometimes not work. I've gotten to CWM though , but its best to downgrade then flash a ROM from there.
I just wanted to bump this thread because it really helped me.
I've messed around with numerous android phones, and I've never had thie issues I've had with this phone getting into recovery to flash ROMs
Thank you!
Hey everyone, my problem is genuinely mind blowing.
- I installed ROM Manager
- I flashed CWM Recovery
- Rebooted into CWM Recovery
- Downloaded CM7 and proceeded with the installation.(checked the cache wipe options too)
- It goes down to installing and...gets stuck. Nothing happens. It just says "installing update" or something similar.
My OS is ICS 4, is this the problem?
Also, is it absolutely necessary to have a micro SD inserted? I believed it could be done without one, but couldn't.
UPDATE: it somehow installed now, but it hangs at the boot screen. What is this about?
Thanx.
you have to atleast 2 or three times flash to get it worked
Thanx.
I eventually managed to brick it, so had to reinstall ICS
I believe this thread can be locked.
for your Notice :
In future Rom manager is not advisible for a smooth operations on the SGS2, it is highly recommended to use rooting kernels like CF-root for rooting the phone, it will provide CWM as well.
Hello. I'm kind of new to all of this. I have the android incredible 4g lte which WAS running the CM 10.1 mod but I recently wiped everything for the CM 11 mod. No, I didn't create a backup or restore. Yes, I feel incredibly stupid. Now I can't get the cm11 mod installed. It gives me an error that says "(Status 7)" in TWRP (v2.2.0). I've been doing a bit of reading and am having some trouble understanding what to do here.
Do I need to flash over the ClockworkMod recovery software using SDK tools and then flash over the recovery file from this post?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2552150
Is the recovery needed to install CM11?
Do I need to be using the clockworkmod recovery software? I don't remember the steps that I took to get cm10.1 installed as it was a couple of years ago. I remember the process taking me a couple of hours.
I would very much so appreciate the help. Thanks
EDIT 1: I managed to install Clockwork manager and get rid of twrp and I "installed" the mod. Unfortunately, the mod doesn't load and now the HTC boot screen just hangs indefinitely. My computer is recognizing the device but mounting the sdcard isn't showing anything on my computer which is a pretty big problem as I need that in order to at least go back to the stock RUU. I can get back into the bootloader and recovery but am unsure what to do at this point. I am also having a difficult time ADB pushing anything to the /storage/sdcard1/ directory. I ran as admin and still no luck.
Also, phone is not s-off.
EDIT 2: CWM not mounting sdcard1. Trying newer version of TWRP
EDIT 2a: TWRP 2.7.0.0 gave me access to sdcard1 from PC again.
EDIT 2b: Tried different another CM11 download. Still hangs at HTC bootscreen.
EDIT 2c: SD card no longer is recognized through phone. Am using an SD adapter directly to computer to access and change files... Problem seems to be getting worse, the more I screw with it.
EDIT 2d: Switched to CWM Recovery v6.0.4.6. Install of rom took less than a minute. Am skeptical... And no dice. Could really use some help...
EDIT 3: At this point I tried the avatar rom and it stops at the HTC screen for around 45 seconds then continues on to a black screen with the menu button lit up. Not sure what's going on...
LAST AND FINAL EDIT: I'm a moron... I didn't flash the boot.img to the boot directory. Feel free to make fun of me in the comment boxes below!!!
Hello, i will try to be thorough.
BUT, i am a noob and didnt write down everything i did.
Have a I717 at&t note 1. with the 4.1.2 update originally OTA installed by keis.
I recently rooted it using Saferoot. it went well and i didnt see any problems. i flashed a custom rom and didnt like it so using clockworkmod recovery i went back to the 4.1.2. I then tried pac lollipop >pac_quicyatt_lp.beta-1.unofficial_20150327< i liked this rom but needed to flash Gapps.
This is where the trouble started. i didnt/dont know the proper procedure to flash the Gapps on top of or into the rom.
I first tried >gapps-5.0.x-20150404-minimal-edition-signed.zip< and it looked like it loaded correctly. but nothing appeared in the phone. the pac rom was still working well.
I then did more research and tried >gapps-lp-20150222-signed.zip< , again it looked like it loaded well but nothing showed up "in" the phone.
right here is where things got screwy. i had been using clorkworkmod for recovery and rebooting. and i think somewhere in developer settings i clicked something about how rebooting is handled.
because after trying to install the Gapps it went into Cyanogen recovery... and loops.
no matter what i do it goes back to cyanogen recovery.
I never knowingly installed cyanogen and dont know why it all of a sudden is going into cyanogen recovery over and over.
a list of things that may have bearing:
1. i tried reinstalling the pac rom. it loads and completes but it still just goes to recovery.
2. tried different ways of clearing cache and data wipes.
3. computer, kies, and odin 3.09 do not recognize phone.
4. have proper drivers on computer. phone was previously recognized by kies and cpu (4.1.2).
5. currently the only way to get anything into phone is by pulling sd card and reinstalling with info on it then using cyanogen recovery.
6. i have searched for about 11 hours and tried a bunch of things. but just restarts in cyanogen recovery
7. i was scared to fully try things i found that wernt specifically for the i717.
8. i could not find an original gingerbread rom. they all seemed fishy (needed downloaders. or ended in .zip.rar)
9. had backed up with clockworkmod and with titanium recovery (while in 4.1.2).
I dont know if i can reach the clockworkmod save through cyanogen recovery.... if so it seems like a great option.
10. at the bottom of the screen while loading rom is.... ---->>> E: cannot load volume /misc
11. only pac rom will successfully re-flash (even though it still just goes back to cyanogen). any other flash and it crashes halfway through.... i then restart and it just loops back to cyanogen recovery.
I searched here and tried the five recommended posts.
I could not try a lot of the "fixes" because the phone isnt recognized by cpu or odin (computer does beep when connected but doesnt show up anywhere).
Can you help me get back my phone please?

Hi there.
My Samsung tab 10.1 was running aosp-5.1.1-p4wifi-20151031.zip for a while. A couple of nights ago I tried to upgrade it with aosp-7.1-p4wifi-20171005.zip. It stuck after giving me:
ClockworkMod Recovery v5.8.3.1
--Installing: /sdcard/0/aosp-7.1-p4wifi=20171005.zip
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Installing update...
Warning: No file_contextsTarget: samsung/GT-P7510:4.0.4/IMM76D/UELPL:user/release-keys
Unfortunately I had wiped data, cache and Dalvik Cache, could not find the old zips on the device to boot it back up as a working tablet. File system seemed OK under sdcard.
It can only boot into recovery or stay in downloading mode. How do we put rom and gapp zip files back on the tab 10.1 without SD slot in recovery?
Are there any other back doors, like kies, odin, that we can use to resurrect it? I've tried the new driver from samsung but the 7510 does not come up on my win10 laptop after spending a long long time in setting up deivce. I guess the driver is too new for P7510. We probably need some older stuff from 2011.
Regards.
In W10 disable driver signature.

Power down tablet.
Connect to PC by USB
Transfer ROM ,Gapps to tablet storage.
Disconnect, Reboot to Recovery , Flash
I don't see an update here, so if you still haven't fixed it, this thread may be of help to you.
Firmware?
Hi there.
My Samsung tab 10.1 (wifi) GT-P7150, got bored of hiding in some box stored in the attic of the garage. Funny you mention what you were doing when I was getting ready to do the same thing. However, I never do anything unless I have official stock firmware I can run through Odin3. Might that be, what ye be askin fer or in need of? Don't know if these XDA Mods will let me post it. But you can PM me and I'll find a way to send it to you.
TWRP Recovery v3.0.0
--Installing: /sdcard/0/aosp-7.1-p4wifi=20171005.zip.
/sdcard/0/P7500-open-gapps-arm 7.1 pico 20170119.zip
GT-P7510 (wifi) 4.0.4/IMM76D/UELPL This is the same stock firmware I have in zip that you can extract and run though Odin3 and you'll just have to begin again. So your qoute left below me is a yes. You seem a little soft-bricked.
