Cyanogenmod 9.1 installing problems - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

Heres the deal.
I got my hands on the walkman and whole android thing is pretty new to me,but i heard a lot of good responses about cyanogen and was wanting to instal it,but i faced some issues:
What I did: I unlocked the bootloader by following thread from sony site, loader was set to allow unlock,so this went succesfully i think.
Next a root was needed, tried several methods and nothing, then helped the one at talk.sonymobile
Hooray,SU app is in,allowed tiatnium and CWM installed sucessfully, phone is rooted.
Now I followed the tutorial from Cyanogen site.
Placed the rom and gapps in sd card, extracted the .img file to fastboot folder, everything is set,now I open the CMD promt in the fastboot folder, fastboot found the device,I hit the : ''fastboot -i 0xfce flash boot boot.img'' tried also '' fastboot flash boot boot.img'' but the cmd throws FAILED(the device must be rooted first).
What went wrong?the device is rooted already...I'm confused.Any suggestions?
and I wondered,is that cmd boot flash necessary, maybe i can install the cyanogen.zip and gapps.zip from cwm recovery console where it is said install from zip, cause the zip contains the boot.img and i was thinking, maybe it is possible to do it without the cmd thing.

Install the drivers from flashtool and try it with flashtool
No, on our xperia devices we have to flash the kernel first, we can't flash it via cwm

Without CMD Flash Tool would not have been able to even flash a custom kernel as fastboot.exe requires CMD. As for your problem, dial this in your phone pad - *#*#7378423#*#*
If you have successfully unlocked your bootloader, then 'Rooting Status" will show "Bootloader unlocked: Yes" else you have not done the process properly. Make sure that you have typed the unlocked code properly. The 'o' may look like in the unlock code '0'. It is safer to copy and paste the unlock code. Also, try running CMD as administrator.

check again if u already unlocked bootloader, if bootloader unlocked:yes, u have unlocked bootloader, if bootloader unlock allowed:yes, means that ur phone can unlocked bootloader n need to unlocked

Thx

thank you,the first attempt for unlocking bootloader was un sucessfull.Running CMD as administrator and typing unlock code in CAPS did it.
Now im on Cyan 9.1
thx all

So,its not possible to flash a kernel using cwm? I ve been told that in cyanogenmod you already have rom and kernel in one zip and there is no need for use of flashtool...i guess i was told wrong?

I think it can be done on newer phones, but on 2011 models, it can't be done, u have to flash kernel using fast boot in pc. But u do Ave the kernel in the same zip

[Q] Clcokworkmod CWM recovery "Fails to boot 2"

After first getting my Atrix I used tenfar's recovery to install one of the first Proms. I cant remember which now.
I have since used Atrix ATTT 2.3.4 Pudding preroot SBF through RSD lite to update to 2.3.4. I would now like to go to CM7.
I have installed the latest Rom Manager and it says I successfully updated to the latest CWM. When I try to reboot into recovery - I get
"Failed to boot 2"
"Starting RSD"
The only way i've been able to fix it is to reflash the preroot SBF.
What am I doing wrong?
welcome to the club my friend. you have to unlock the bootloader and your golden
more info. if you follow the thread more. you will need to run fast boot to obtain this. once you run fastboot. type in fastboot oem unlock. it will then give you the uniquee device id.
power down remove battery if you have. restart the phone in fastboot mode. type in fastboot oem unlock plus the unique id number let it run through process. phone will say unlocked when it reboots. then go ahead and install rom manager and flash the cwm. once installed reboot using rom manager to get into cwm and flash rom

Thanks for the tip! When I do this, though, fastboot hangs on "Waiting for device." Am I doing something wrong? I'm using a Mac, so re-installing drivers isn't the issue.
It's most likely a permission problem. Run fastboot as root/administrator/whatever macs have.
It for sure is the locked bootloader problem. I had though i had unlocked the bootloader and tried to install CWM through rom manager and it put the same error up. I flashed pudding again and then made sure to do the oem unlock commands that i had apparently overlooked
Thats what i am thinking too. that it is the locked bootloader issue. i had this the other day when i attempted to cwm and rom install. thanks to Turl1 and a few others, i was able to have it taken care of in no time.

how to install cwm on xperia go on jelly bean?

I've tried to look around, and the only method I seem to find is to flash back to ics, root, then install it. But is there a way to install it on jelly bean without going back to ics?
I had successfully rooted my go before, but that was with bin4ry's easy root exe. I kinda regretted not installing cwm sooner when I was still rooted in ICS. I also have no idea how to fast boot on this phone, I read a guide before, but my phone goes into charging mode before I get to click anything.

OK last night I was stuck at step 13, but just this morning for some reason, my phone went on fastboot mode, and the computer automatically installed the drivers. Now that it's on fastboot, I tried moving on to step 14-15, this is where I get stuck again... It says open a cmd within the sdk folder, and enter the command on step 15, I get the message, "fastboot.exe is not recognized as an internal or external command." I checked both tools, and platform-tools, they both have fastboot.exe. what am I missing? I extracted the adt-bundle on my desktop if that helps.

Put the boot.img in platform-tools and open a command window from there (shift+rclick on empty spot > open command window from here)
Then try fastboot again. Should work with or without .exe
PS. How did you get this far with the steps and have fastboot not work if you went through unlocking bootloader?

Fastboot was already working, I just need to unlock the bootloader. How the fastboot driver installed, I have no idea, maybe it was when I restarted my pc this morning that sorted things out. The computer found the driver by itself for some reason. Another thing that probably help was when I pressed the volume up button by itself, and not with the power button.

So I tried looking around the forums for another method on unlocking the bootloader. And I tried the SE bootloader unlocker. It seemed to me it worked in unlocking the bootloader although I still don't know how to confirm, since I still get the error on my previous post. I tried moving on and flash the boot.img and I started to get the 4 flashing colors, but I'm a bit confused on step 5 and 6 in installing cwm. And I get the flashing colors everytime I restart my phone, is this normal? I'm not finish in installing cwm so that might be a reason.

4 flashing colors indicate boot.img was flashed successfully (because normal boot img doesn't do that). And you will be seeing that everytime while using this ROM. You should be able to boot to CWM by holding down vol- when it starts flashing and right after the vibrate. Keep it held til you see CWM. If that doesn't work, pop your question over there in that thread for OP to read.

I have a networked locked go (ST27i) on O2 network in the UK. The boot loader cannot be unlocked. I installed the latest generic firmware 6.2.A.1.100 via flashtool (to de-brand the O2 startup/shutdown sequence which slowed the phone a little). I rooted the phone via the DoomLoRD .bat exploit.
I have tried three versions of CWM from playstore and they all say they are incompatible with my device, so I cannot install it? As my bootloader cannot be unlocked I understand I cannot flash a custom kernel or use a custom rom.
I assume as the OP says (and after many hours reading), to install CWM recovery to a ST27i on the latest JB rom, you must flash the device from JB back to ICS, then install the CWM recovery/kernel. Then to flash the JB rom you do it through CWM and not via flash tool if you want to go back to JB, is that correct? Thus keeping the CWM recovery option on startup.
thanks in advance for any help with this!

You assumed it right. Installing CWM was actually quite easy, I was just not familiar with the steps provided on sony's website. Don't use the CWM from playstore, use the ones on this forum. Make sure the necessary files are installed, like ADB, and Android SDK tools, then install CWM through your PC with your phone connected on fastboot(Press volume up as you connect your phone). Replace the boot.img from the android platform-tools, with the boot.img from the CWM file you downloaded. Open command prompt inside platform-tools folder and type "fastboot flash boot boot.img " without the quote. When you see a bunch of numbers come up that means you have just successfully installed CWM, then type "fastboot reboot". If you see flashing colors during boot then that means you were successful. To go to CWM menu, wait for the led to flash then press volume down.

[Q] How to install androwook

Hello,
Since my tf201 was getting really slowly I was thinking of putting a custom rom on it, since those are faster(?) than the stock rom. I found out that androwook is a pretty decent custom rom so I wanted to install it, only 1 problem. I have 0 knowledge of this 'Rooting, flashing, fastbooting..." The instructions on how to install it is useless to me. I managed to unblock it by using the asus tool, but thats as far as I got. I have absolutely no idea what to do now, is there any guide on this forum for noobs instead of experts of how to root and install custom roms?
Thanks

Be sure you are at the last stock jb rom, and then
0. Backup your data, and make a factory reset
1. Unlock device by executing the unlock app for TFP with WiFi on
2. Install TWRP
3. Install Hairy Recovery & Upgrade Bootloader
4. Install Hairybean 2.2
For step1 and step2, here is the ref
http://goo.gl/oROU2
After installing TWRP, power off your TFP and power on with volumn down until you see a menu showing RCK, volume up to enter TWRP
Follow the instruction of HB after you boot into TWRP(step3 and step4)

HI EVERYBODY,
Today i wanna introuduce my first filekit for rooting htc amaze 4g,
It is easy and needs only clicks instead of writing commands and reading different sites and downloading files from different sites it's all in one,
so follow the guide carefully!

GUIDE 1:: {unlocking the bootloader!}
This is htc amaze 4g unlocking, flashing recoveries and rooting filekit by playboydroid at xda developers.
first step enable usb debugging in settings>developer options>usb debugging tick it.or if you are at gingerbread so goto applications>devlopment>usb debugging.
STEP 2>> go into my filekit select data folder>install htc drivers.
STEP 3>> connect your pc to phone with usb cable then in data folder slect reboot into bootloader when you get into bootloader so use volume keys to navigate and
power key to select, you should be connected with usb cable between your phone and pc you will see written fastboot usb highlited with red if you cannot see
so select fastboot written in the bootloader menu so when you see fastboot usb in red colour, then select token id windows batch file present in data folder of my
FILEKIT so by selecting token id from pc will help you in getting the token so select the token as follows:
When copying the token, start with this line:
<<<< Identifier Token Start >>>>
And end with this line:
<<<<< Identifier Token End >>>>>
Click to collapse
after marking the token copy it by right clicking on the command window opened so after right clicking a dailouge box will appear so select edit>mark then select the token written and right click to select the token then visit htcdev.com singup first then select unlock bootloader at the right of the site select your device
htc amaze (t-mobile)or(mobilcity)or other then begin unlocking bootloader skip all steps goto step 10 and deposit your identifier token there and you will recieve
unlock_code bin in your email download it and place it in my toolkit>data folder then run the file unlockbootloader in my toolkit>data so this will ask a question on your phone's screen so select yes if you want to unlock or select no if you don't want to unlock bootloader
Code:
(note that when you select yes your all data would be deleted)
so now you are done unlocking bootloader now you can flash recovery and you can proceed to root.
GUIDE 2 : flashing custom recoveries..
first step>>connect your phone with pc using usb cable.
second step>>use the file reboot into bootloader present in my filekit>data it will take you to bootloader (note;usb debugging should be enabled)

phone stuck at HTC logo
hey guys,
great guide, plain and simple
I have gotten to the point of rooting the phone, however when I install roms from sd card and reboot, the phone gets stuck at the htc logo with the white background. Am I missing something...After i install the super su and reboot, can I just install a rom, or do i need to update the kernel or install an update?
thanks in advance

Yes the problem is that you need to flash boot.img from bootloader or for easily flashing roms from recovery ,use 4ext recovery...
Just flash this recovery from an app at play store or xda named 4ext recovery control this will work only if phone is booting or if the phone is not booting so search 4ext recovery.img or .zip on xda and flash it in your current recovery and reboot your recovery...you would now be able to get in new recovery now before flashing roms you need to enable 4ext smart flash, which is available inside tools options in 4ext recovery once you had enabled smart flash start flashing roms and they would boot...but NOTE: when ever you are flashing roms always check that is 4ext smart flash enabled or not ,you need to enable it in order to boot new roms and always make an Nandroid backup...
Happy flashing and don't forget to hit thanks

And please tell me that you're currently on CWM recovery or anyother...
Well CWM recovery is included in the package so hoping you're on custom recovery..
The only solution for your problem is that your phone should be ICS 4.0.3 updated and you should have 4ext recovery with smart flash enabled...
Or other solution is perform S-OFF..which is very hard, because of the wire trick!

I assume that you are on ginger bread with old bootloader,so try CM7 or older roms that might work on your device, for flashing ICS and JB newer roms you will need to be on latest bootloader which you can get after updating your phone to ICS(official)..
if you are having unbranded HTC Amaze Ruby then you need to S-OFF or if you are having Branded i.e T-Mobile or any other just flash the RUU from boot loader....:victory:

ok, so im at a lost, i have used 4ext recovery and used a cyanogen mod and still no luck. I followed your instructions but it still sticks at the htc logo. what is this S-off you are talking about and exactly how risky is it?

Did you enabled smart flash inside tools options in 4ext recovery.?
Just Google s-off,you might find details about it.
And another solution is to try hasoons2000 toolkit for htc amaze and learn how to flash boot.img on bootloader..

did you tried enabling smart flash in recovery?
for s-off visit this.
and for booting a new rom you need to flash boot.img from bootloader.
use this once you enter boot loader and your phone should be connected to pc.see this for more information.
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
I got through somewhat

Ok, so i extracted the img file and loaded it using the fastboot command, it booted in to Android OS (cm-10-20131006-NIGHTLY-ruby.zip) but it keeps cutting off, I had installed the same rom previously, When loading the boot.img, do i need to extract all the other contents to a folder so it can pull all the files?

ok, so I did all the above, I also installed an update:
You MUST flash the ICS firmware update when coming from a GINGERBREAD ROM before flashing Viper Amaze
Place the PH85IMG.zip in the root of your
EXTERNAL SDCARD and boot into bootloader
This will update your radio
to 1.15.550L.08D _30.80.550L. 16D
and HBOOT to 1.93.2222
I did the above, installed the Viper Amaze 1.7.2.3 official, and it worked!!!!
thanks again for your help and patient, thank you

Error while flashing stock kdz (page error)

So my cousin gave me an L9 P765 Indian .. It was somehow bricked and couldn't get past the LG logo..i tried to reset it but while resetting i just get a dead android with exclamation.. So now i downloaded the stock kdz for it from lg servers.. I tried to flash it offline like i do with my optimus g. But it gets stuck at 50% (IPARAM =50) With PAGE ERROR..
Secondly i extracted all the partitions from the kdz hoping that I'd flash them through ADB .. The phone is detected as recovery while i connect it to pc if its in the" dead android mode" .. But while pushing the files i just get access denied.. So it failed again
I guess if i could get it in FASTBOOT mode i can flash all the partitions but i guess it doesn't have fastboot..
So plzz help me too get it back to life..

I don't see why fastboot wouldn't work. Just make sure you have the right drivers etc. Fastboot should be the answer, just flash the corresponding xloader and uboot.

I may seem like noob here but to get into the fastboot the phone needs to have an unlocked bootloader . but this device isn't.. But even if i try to get into fastboot using the Command
ADB REBOOT BOOTLOADER
It just returns to the LG Logo ...
If there's any other way to get to the fastboot you gotta tell me..
And can u tell me what do u exactly mean by flashing xloader and uboot..

Thankfully fastboot doesn't require you to have a unlocked bootloader. The ADB REBOOT BOOTLOADER command, is the command you use to try to unlocked the bootloader, which is a story of it's own.
You'll want to follow this tutorial here first to install the drivers.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=44578108&postcount=34
Then use lelus's fastboot script, and use readme in the zip.
