Hey guys, I'm trying to port a rom, but I cannot manage it to boot :S.
When the device boots, it gets stuck at bootanimation for 5 exact minutes. After that, it reboots and does it all over again..
I cannot get a logcat because adb server isn't initialized... I think that maybe making a nandroid backup, and exploring the backup, however I cannot find a way to open the .tar files from a CWM recovery...
Does anyone know if there is any issue related to this specific behavior?...What might it be?

Dear xda forums.
Unortunatedly, this is my first post and i will be asking for help rather than helping :/
So... my father came in a week ago with a chinese android phone that i cant tell what phone it is trying to replicate exactly.... thing is, no matter how much i look for this phone i cant find anything about it, i already searched a lot on how to fix this proble but to no avail...
I can give more details if you need them), but basically this is my problem:
I got a chinese phone that runs on 4.2.2, and after working a lot, i managed to install supersu via framaroot(superuser would not work properly).
Thing is, being the inpatient person i am, before backing up anything, or installing a recovery rom or any costum rom, i decided to check some apps that required root.
I downloaded the app anim mod *root* because i thought it was a good idea to change the animations of my phone
HERES THE PROBLEM i used this app and i could see how it was changing things in my system files, it then asked for a reboot, and now it wont get past the boot animation and it freeses right there, i can enter factory mode(which is in chinese and i did look up for a translation) and recovery mode:
In both modes i was able to reset the phone but the problem is still there, ive literally have been searching whole days now and i am quite frustrated.
My question: what should i do to fix this? i have root but no recovery rom , so is there a way i can install a costunm rom just to try?
If the case is that i changed a system file (animations) how can i change them through my pc? does a reset from the stock recovery reset the system files aswell?
I am new to this, but i am willing to learn and try everything that could fix this.
If anyone wants to help, you can ask me whatever you want, i can upload pictures if you want to help me identify it or the specs i managed to get from factory mode.
the phone says it is an alps model a76, but thi phone is nowhere to be found help me please
I have an Android phone karbonn a1+ HW ver-3.0.0, SW Ver-2.0.2.
I am a noob but like to experiment.
My phone was rooted and was working on stock firmware as there is not good firmware available for it (After trying several firmware i found only 1 custom was working that too was not good so i reverted back to stock and did some tweaking). It has CWM recovery installed.
Some stupid thing i did before it got bricked.
1- I tried to change font but phone became dead and i used some files to change them but that did not work so i restored my backup.
2- After restoring my backup some crazy ideas struck me, i again wanted to try those custom firmware. As normal restore of (those FW files are backup file) those were not working i tried advanced restored and restored files one by one (img, boot, system etc). After that my phone is dead.
I can enter into Recovery mode, can flash files, can restore backup which are not giving me any error but the phone is not starting. Even my backup files are not working. When i am connecting my phone to PC it is going into a bootloop. (first karbonn logo --then a white screen with vertical lines--then restart again). I am trying for last 15 days days to make it running again but it is not.
KINDLY HELP:crying::crying::crying::crying:
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. i'm sorry but there is very little information about your device on XDA. I'm going to ask a moderator to move your post to here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help Hopefuly someone with your device will see it and be able to help.
Good luck!
I had recently found out how to root my Galaxy S3 specificly the Sprint model since then I was messing with Xposed, and a few specific Modules having to do with the UI I encountered a UI crash when I rebooted the first time, then after that I attempted to wipe the device thinking that would fix the issue only to have it not boot into the device instead stick at the boot screen (I cant share links yet or Id show an image) I have flashed the Clockwork Mod Recovery tool into the device which worked I have access to Odin and CWM I just don't know how to fix this issue and it only looks like I make things worse if I try to look it up myself does anyone know what I should do???
Edit
I managed t get the device running by finding the original firmware update zip on the samsung website then ran it throught adb the situation resolved itself thanks though.
Hi guys,
Got a tricky one here - a friends just brought me a Galaxy S2 thats stuck in a boot loop but tells me he's got years of photos on it's internal memory and not backed up
So far I've managed to get it into download/recovery mode, tried a cache reset and got nowhere now I'm a bit stuck. Do I:
Do a factory reset - I'm told it doesn't delete the users data, but some people say it does and I can't risk it until I know for sure.
Flash a stock ROM - Apparently Odin (Which I have got running and can see the phone) can write a ROM without losing data - but again I'm weary of doing so without a definite answer.
Something else? - Possible to write just a custom recovery and mount internal to USB or something? Tried TWRP but it fails in Odin.
Any help is greatly appreciated guys, from both of us!
Can you access the phone through ADB while in recovery mode? (Maybe you'll first have to install a custom recovery with Odin.) Then you can just use ADB to pull any files you want off the phone.
