Nokia Lumia Series ROMs - Firmware Backups - Nokia Lumia 920

UPDATE!!!
UNFORTUNATELY, I'VE LOST MY BACKUPS. I HAD A HARD DRIVE FAILURE OF MY BACKUP DRIVE, SO WHAT IS HERE IS ALL I HAVE. I'M SORRY EVERYONE!!!
AND AS MOST OF YOU KNOW, NOKIA HAS FINALLY TURNED OFF THEIR SERVER TO OUTSIDE ACCESS.
DOWNLOADS IN SECOND POST
Ok, I will admit, this will be slow, but before the ROMs were taken down, I grabbed as many as I could. I'll post them up here as they are asked for. I've got a couple already uploaded to start, but please ask for what you need and I'll see if I have it. It takes time because I have to extract them from Nokia Download Manager, then Extract the files to a folder, and then Re-Compress them, broken into 100MB files so that the Free Hosting services will accept them.

This is where I'll have the Download Links as they come in... If you don't see yours here, please request it.

There are a few people on THIS thread that have accomplished cross flashing. I have not done it myself, so you might find them on that thread and ask them how it's done.

New Lumia 920 ROM version?
I bought my Lumia 920 (black) last weekend in The Netherlands and it has firmware revision 1232.5951.1249.1002 (OS version 8.0.10211.204). Am I right in assuming that I have a newer version than the ones posted here?
BTW it is a Vodafone version (CV NL v2) with just standard firmware as far as I can tell.

That's the latest ROM available in navifirm.

You can flash other rom and debrand your orange lumia, using NOKIA CARE SUITE more instructions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=38325527#post38325527 but since your phone is already a RM-821 product, all you have to do is download unbranded roms with Nokia Care Suite or Navifirm and flash them with Nokia Care Suite.

before i get flammed on asking on the "wrong thread" or something like that
just wondering if i can get the pre portico firmware and portico firmware for a verizon nokia lumia 822.
i bought one, and its on the pre portico rom. but if and when i update to get the other goodies like text message instead of rejecting call. and if i want to revert to the older.

Thank you.
sorry for late reply, i managed to download grey and red pre portico for my devices, now i am updating my lumia 822's to portico and see if everything is up to snuff.
now i am going to do some frankenstein stuff. since for some reason, mms is not receiving correctly from straight talk on the 822 (AT&T version of straight talk)
i am going to try to flash unlocked developer 821 firmware to the nokia lumia 822 and see if
1. flashing process is success and not a bricked phone and hopefully make it pentaband
2. and see if everything works with at&t, and tmobile and straight talk
i want to flash unlocked version because AT&T 920 firmaware may or may not sim lock device to AT&T, i doubt it. I want to be safe than sorry. Since the 822 comes sim unlocked already
and also on the unlocked developer or unlocked version or rogers of lumia 922 will have AWS bands. I think Rogers and AT&T LTE are same frequencies, but mainly looking to test to see if the LTE radio to work from Verizon to AT&T is a firmware/software flash to enable AT&T LTE on a 822.
That way i might also flash a 920 lumia i got to the 822 verizon firmware and see if it takes. but i may have problems with the 920 not being sim unlocked and it wont take the service. but i will be able to see if it reads LTE on the signal meter when i pop the verizon 4glte sim.. I doubt i will get CDMA to work, but like i said i have the time and phones to play with.
This way i want to see if only if i can get a lumia GSM 920 on Verizon network for the 4G LTE. I live in a strong LTE area and will most always have LTE.
Then i can beg and beg and beg att to give me the unlock code.
Since here in the forums AWS was lost when flashing a Rogers Lumia to an AT&T firmware and now i will take this to a whole new level of testing. If someone has already done this please tell your findings.
I wont be able to do this until Friday night

No, my understanding is that the SIM unlock is a separate part of the hardware.
But, be aware that it will delete EVERYTHING on your phone, so be sure you do a backup Before flashing your phone. Backup using the built in backup in 'Settings'. That will save your messages and program settings. It will not save your game/app saves/settings, or photos/music. You can back up photos and music using Windows Phone app in Windows 8 and photos can backup to Skydrive also.

Interesting. So this is what is coming up after the crooked 12070 firmware. If it is around on some server, I suppose it will be a matter of days 'til people start seeing it being distributed. And then we'll get more infos
Hope it fixes the volume bug and includes the hotspot.
Hm, are you sure this is a Lumia 800 firmware? Looks more like an Lumia 900 firmeware. But I might be wrong!

Hi Ellokomen.
Probably a stupid question, but what are the advantages of a developer ROM?
The Developer ROM has been there since at least November (as that's when I downloaded it)...
I don't know how significant it is, but there was never a Portico version of the Developer ROM before they were all pulled so it doesn't appear it's first on the list for updates if that is what you were thinking.

The portico version of the developer ROM is now available (see 1232.5951.1249.1002 - RM-821 VAR EURO1 Developer Device).
But again: what would be the advantage of flashing that to my phone?!?
Can the Developer rom side load apps?

I think it would help to remove the internet sharing block on AT&T and rogers phones.
Has anyone tried to flash this RM-821 ROM onto a RM-820 device? I know that technically they are different phones but you could flash the RM-819 (Lumia 800) onto a RM-801 without issue aside from perhaps a missing 3G band. But the 820/821 have exactly the same 3G bands just different LTE (which I don't care about) so it shouldn't be an issue right?

Perfect, thanks! I also don't live in an LTE market so I could give two sh!ts about the LTE working or not but removing all the att crap is a must for me.

That's odd because when I tried to flash the RM-820 ATT Firmware to my international RM-821 Lumia Nokia Care Suite said that it's for a different model (or sthg like that) and then aborted the flashing process. This left my phone "soft bricked" - meaning that I had to re-flash it with a RM-821 ROM to get it working again.
I wonder if this Dev ROM might actually be a RM-820 ROM that is only (by mistake) labeled as RM-821?????
Has anyone tried to flash it to a RM-821 international model yet? Because from what I know the only Dev phones were RM-820 models and that always left me wondering why there is a Dev ROM for RM-821 but non for RM-820 when on the other hand there are only RM-820 Dev phones but no RM-821 dev phones.

It's not mistakenly mislabeled b/c nokia care suite now identifies my att lumia as a RM-821 (originally RM-820) and now in extras+info the manufacturer model name is RM-821_eu_euro1_425 so it's obviously designed as a european rom.

Well this makes me wonder whether RM-820 and RM-821 might actually be the exact same phone hardware wise with only some (artificial) lock preventing cross-flashing between those variants ...
Would be interesting whether you could flash other non-developer RM-821 ROMs to your RM-820 now and also if you could still flash it back to an RM-820 AT&T or Rogers ROM.

Did you try it using the latest version of Nokia Care Suite?
@patrick92260
Which product code does Nokia Care Suite show for your phone now? The original AT&T one or the one for the RM-821 Developer ROM?

It shows the product code for the RM-821 dev rom and identifies it as RM-821.
edit: looked at the wrong place for the product code. It still has the original ATT product code but NCS still identifies it as an rm-821
I just tried to flash my att Lumia several times but just get the phone bricked and flashed back to att rom
Sent from my RM-820_nam_att_100 using Board Express
Oddly the update menu entry is grayed out for me too but you can download a later version here:
http://www.seidea.com/2013/01/03/nokia-care-suite-pst-5-0-2012-51-4-4/
(don't forget to uninstall the old version before installing the new one!)
What @patrick92260 said about his phone now being identified as RM-821 and even with the Developer phone's product code makes it seem like he did not only flash the phone to a different ROM (with keeping the phone's original identity [model, product code] intact) but he also somehow managed to overwrite the part that holds those "phone identity information" with the ones of the Dev phone.
Maybe this has sthg to do with the version of NCS being used:
-the old version just flashed the ROM but didn't touch the "phone identity information", it allowed to flash to a different product code but refused to flash to a different model (RM-821/RM-820) and even after flashing to a different product code the phone still had it's original product code
-now the new version on the other hand might not only flash the ROM but might also overwrite the "phone identity information" with the ones of the ROM you are flashing and is thereby effectively changing the phones "identity" (model, product code) to the one of the ROM you're flashing.
This is just a theory of mine but when summing up the facts that:
-a few weeks ago I was unable to flash my RM-821 to an AT&T Portico ROM and now @alfaro58 tried it the other way round (flashing his RM-820 with an RM-821 ROM) and we both ended up "soft bricking" our phones and had to re-flash them with the "correct" model's firmware to un-brick them
-a few months ago sb tried to unbrand his Roges RM-820 by flashing an RM-821 ROM and he also ended up soft-bricking it and then had to wait for a few days until a RM-820 ROM became available on Navifirm before he could unbrick his phone by flashing one of those
[email protected] now basically did the same thing that other guy did a a few months ago (flashing an RM-820 with an RM-821 ROM) but instead of soft-bricking his phone it seems that he even managed to not only flash it with an RM-821 ROM but to actually make it an RM-821 phone.
All these facts kinda lead me to that assumption that it might have sthg to do with that new Nokia Care Suite version that was released earlier this month.
If I still had that buggy pre-Portico ROM on my Lumia I wouldn't hesitate trying to flash my RM-821 to a Rogers or AT&T ROM (because those seem to be first in line when it comes to updates - or at least they were this time) but with my phone now working perfectly with that RM-821 Entel ROM and me having several exams during the next few days I'm really not going to wipe my perfectly working phone just to prove this theory right or wrong - I hope you understand that.
@patrick92260 Which version of Nokia Care Suite did you use?
@alfaro58 Maybe you want to install the new NCS version and then try to flash your phone with the RM-821 firmware again using that updated NCS version?

For anyone interested, the update works perfectly, it is a French versión but you can change the language later.
I link Glance very much... but my surprise was that when I was installing my applications I browsed the Store and I found something that I was waiting for... LINADA GET, an application that let me download music from my NAS into the WP8 music library.
Now I can say, loud and clear, WP8 is the best mobile OS!
can anyone confirm whether or not the gdr2 comes with datasense for att?

you can download it via NCS and product support tool 5.0 within NCS. just download the right one for your serial number, every phone region has its own product code. it is in the sim card tray printed. something like "059R3S1" thats a vodafone german version of the white lumia 920 so you type in yours in the NCS product support tool 5.0. there is on top of the app an setting like tools -> firmware download, there you type in your product code and see if there is a newer version than your on the phone. if not then type in what stays in the first post on one of the two links... there is the product code for lumia 920 and 820 on both sites.

So what product code did you use as I can't find it on that website
So i installed the Amber update with GDR2 firmware, but i have a question. All sites say that Nokia Pro Cam (from Lumia 1020) will come to 920/925 amber update. I only recieved the smart camera app, but not the pro camera app. Is it possible that they made a mistake and confused pro camera with smart camera, and nokia pro camera will not come to 920/925 devices?

Hi, yes I want to flash that ROM because I'm trying to enable AWS band on my 920 (RM-821). I've been reading a lot about this, and not many people have tried this process, but i read that flashing a specific rom that uses the 1700-2100 band (RM-820) you can then enable AWS on an RM-821. the problem most people had is that they dont know wich ROM have LTE AWS enabled. I found an article on a Perubian online newspaper where the goverment said that the lumia models being sell there were compatible with the AWS LTE band. So i want to try it.
thx for the answer, any idea of when will it work again?

You *may* get a FFU signature error, that prevent you to flash this RM-820 ROM on your RM-821 Lumia device. If you will not get a FFU signature error and that the flash of this RM-820 ROM on your RM-821 Lumia device works, it *may* that your RM-821 Lumia device loses some networks bands.

Unless T-Mobile lit up a 1900 tower just in the few minutes that the phone was rebooting after flashing GLOBAL BLACK SWAP, I am certain that I can now use 3G on AWS with it. For those who are interested, here is what I did to my AT&T Lumia 920:
start off with a Portico AT&T ROM (OTA-updated a few weeks ago on the still locked phone)
remove SIM unlock with AT&T provided unlock code
flash pre-Portico Rogers ROM
OTA-update to Portico Rogers ROM
flash Portico EURO1 DEV ROM (RM-821!)
flash Portico Rogers ROM
flash Portico LTA1 MX ROM
flash Portico GLOBAL BLACK SWAP ROM (RM-821!) ---> saw H, H+ indicator after this!!!
flash Portico Rogers ROM ---> 4G indicator
While flashing the LTA1 MX ROM (the Latin America ROMs are nicely debranded RM-820 ROMs but don't support LTE, at least in their cellular settings for highest connection speed), I decided for whatever reason to just give another RM-821 ROM a try and went for the GLOBAL BLACK SWAP. Maybe flashing EURO1 DEV again would have also done the trick as well and just flashing back and forth somehow enabled AWS. I don't know exactly what caused it but I am happy AWS works on the AT&T Lumia 920. This phone now certainly is the Überphone
and here the one with the product codes
Flash to Pre-Portico Rogers ROM: RM820_059Q6W4_1232.2109.1242.1002_039
OTA Update to Rogers ROM (1308)
Flash to European Developer ROM: RM821_059R4H6_1232.5957.1308.0002_027
Flash to Rogers ROM: RM820_059Q6W4_1232.5962.1314.0000_156
Flash to Global Black Swap ROM: RM821_059Q5C6_1232.5951.1249.1004_044 (No H/H+ as claimed by others, LTE disappeared from network options)
Flash to Rogers ROM: RM820_059Q6W4_1232.5962.1314.0000_156

Just I have same - updated yesterday.
Don't like new Windows 10 on my Lumia 920.
Now trying already half of the day to downgrade to Windows 8/8.1
Have experience with Android - it was easy.
With my AT&T Lumia 920 it's a pain in the neck.
