[Q] Problem with contacts CX-MIUI-Fireworks - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, as this forum has, I have to say uncomfortable posting rules, otherwise i would post in original thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1995441
I have a problem with contact names not being displayed when calling to my phone, and when I'm calling the names are being displayed. ( It's happening to all the phone contacts) Contacts were imported from sd and to the phone memory(not google account)
As I mentioned I'm using CX-MIUI-Fireworks 1.43 with LuPuS-jB-coconut kernel, Superuser Fix applied, my phone is Sony E. LwW.
Just noticed that phone cannot recognize country code (+370) and replace it to the local number (8) to show contact information.

[Q] Disappearing contact

Not the end of the world, but I have a contact that keeps disappearing from my favourites on people tab.
It only disappears when ever Active Sync is syncing, though the contact is still listed, just disappears from the tab.
This has now happened on the last 2 or 3 ROMs I've used so that rules out a ROM issue.
Anyone have any ideas?
TIA
I have used search and can't find anyone else with the same issue
Not being funny, but as a senior member I'm sure you know how to start your own thread, so why hijack mine.
the info that tells sense it is a favorite (and Facebook links) is held in the notes field, so you could try setting it as fav, then edit the contact, scroll down to more (brings up the winmo contact screen) and copy out all the code,
example
<HTCData><!-- Please do not modify -->
<Favorite>actionid:CallMobile</Favorite>
<Facebook>id:51xxxx112/friendof:xxxx91731</Facebook>
</HTCData>
and manually put it in the notes field of your contact on the pc.if it solves it, it could be that your sync settings have been altered to update only from pc to phone, not both directions.
None of my contacts have anything like that.
Today they've all behaved themselves and not run off, will keep an eye on it
Normally your contact will have a Note information, like samsamuel mentioned before.
I know if I delete this info on one of my contact's, it will disappearing from my favourites on the people tab.
This info is needed.

[Q] Beginner questions about contacts

Hi,
firstly, let me introduce myself:
My name is Tony and from my signature and amount of posts, you can see, I am a very active XDA user and used to do a lot of first and second level support for the blueangel and the blackstone and today my SGS2 arrived, which is my first native android phone. As soon, as i figured out all the tiny beginner's questions, i will start supporting this awesome device for all you fellow users out there.
But for now, excuse me, that I have to ask a few stupid questions that I encountered while setting up the device:
1. My phone is set to English (US) and my keyboard and voice input options are set to German (so that writing or voice inputting sms and german addresses are easier). However, Vlingo does not exactly support the dual language and sometimes produces problems when reading out english information, anybody else experiencing mixed language problems there? any advice?
2. i decided to set my up contacts from scratch. i put in all the correct formal names for my contacts, but when i connect these users to their respective facebook accounts (who are sometimes based on nicknames), the display name automatically changes to the facebook name, while i prefer the formal name. is there a way to change it?
3. contacts allow me to add several im accounts, e.g. ICQ. when i click the icq# of a user, it opens up im and states that only windows live, google talk and yahoo are supported. is there a way to either connect that to the official icq for android, or add other messengers to the stock im? if not, why bother inputting all the information, if one cannot use it?
i wonder why nobody else seems to experience problem #2.
i found it again here: http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=6067
apparently, when you connect contacts through one or more platforms, like facebook, twitter, last.fm, skype... and there names vary, your contacts app will always prefer the last name with the latest letter in the alphabet. in my case, there is one contact first name r. last name b., but one facebook, he goes by another variation of his name, "zu b.", so contacts prefers the facebook name, as z is greater than b. there is no logical reason why facebook names should be preferred to the phone's own stored name. after all, i entered those names because i wanted to find the contacts by that name. why does the phone tell me, my choices are no good and facebook's are better?
strike issue #1 and #3, i will find a workaround some time, but it would be extremely nice, if someone could check if this contacts issue is present in their device and firmware?
i have ke7 dbt (latest german stock rom).
My nexus one does the same thing. If I sync contacts with Facebook it changes to their Facebook displayed name. I'm still not clear on exactly how it does it too.
i tried several ways of bypassing the issue, starting by assuming the sorting of contacts would be determined by the regular ascii order of letters, or linux's, so i tried renaming every contact to minuscules, so R.B. -> r.b. which didn't help and i wouldn't even bother starting any contact with z or any symbol, as that would render the letter navigation bar on the right useless.
so the only way i could bypass the issue was to sort and display contacts by first name. after many years of windows mobile use i'm having trouble getting used to it but apparently, there is no other way so far.
if anyone else has trouble with this, please go to http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=6067 and star the issue and post your experiences.

[Q] Calling info screen Android (company name, adres)

Hello Friends,
I have recently installed new Android 4.1 on my HTC Desire Z and wished that simple issue had been finally added to the software. But I was wrong...
Maybe any of you know how to customize Calling In (and maybe Call out) screen to see other contact info if exist like. Company name, address, work title etc.
Most of us does not have only Name and Phone Number in Contacts. I have more that 2000 contacts and many of them are same name like John from Company A and John from Company B. Unfortunately when they are calling I see only Name and Phone number (and picture where normally I do not have )
Please if there is any customization possibility to see more contact info when calling please help to solve it.
I hope I'm posting to right Subforum.

[Q] any way to retreive the facebook-id

Hi there,
my question might seem to be a little odd, so I will explain the reason first...
in my university lab 6 of our android devices (and an iphone 5) got stolen. the thief might have sold the devices, I'm not really sure. anyhow - one of the devices still had our lab-gmail-account logged in so i could install androidlost and get at leas some control over one of our stolen nexus 7.
I was able to get gps coordinates, the WiFi name + IP address as well as some pictures of the person that has the device right not. unfortunately the police told me that gps wouldn't help, as there are possibly 150 persons in the street where the device is, that have the potential to be criminal...getting the owner of the connection via IP is also not likely, because a judge needs to approve the locating via ISP and before that happens, the telecommunications company will have deleted the data -.- I've seen they added a new gmail account after I changed our password. but it's just something like "[email protected]", so nothing that tells me the name.
with androidlost I can also start a web-server and browse the sdcard of the device. unfortunately the device is not rootet, so I can't browse to /data/data to gather more information.
so (finally ) here is my question:
is there any app that saves it's data to the sdcard which uses the facebook ID?
I mean in any logfile or something...maybe an app that automatically starts at boot, so i can be sure the app leaves it's trace on the sdcard.
I can still install apps via play store and if i could retreive the facebook ID in any way, there would still be a chance to catch the thief...
I'm also open for other creative ideas to retreive the identity...
EDIT: before anyone gets me wrong - I don't want the password or login to the account - all I need is the facebook ID (or name...) so I might find out the real name and give it to the police...

[Q] Save contact to SimCard

yeah, i know there are many threads about this topic, below is some of things need clarification and some questions
and just recently paid my attention on this "Contacts" thinggy, and realise that i have tons of duplicate in my Gmail (why the fack its synced to Gmail?)
need clarification:
-so, does newer devices cant save contact directly to SIM?
-we can only use "Export to storage", but that is in vcf (or some format)
-in order to copy all contact from phone to SIM, we must use an app in Playstore (how useful is this app anyway?)
-the contacts in SIM need to be exported to phone
question:
-why do you all think that theres no "Export to SIM" support?
-if i save a contact, does it automatically saved in phone? does it sync to elsewhere? (i dont like this sync-y thinggy)
-what is "phone only, unsynced", does it referred to the phone memory and if i saved a contact it will be in phone?
yes, im asking on how to configure about saving a contact and its relevant question
and sorry if some part is messed up, i got big event next week and kinda nervous about it
Device : GT-i9100G , CM 11 Nightly 20140520
thanks
