I search, but I can't find solution how to root Samsung Galaxy SII GT-I9100 with new version of android:
v4.03
kernel: 3.0.15-I9100XWLP7-CL340913
Build: IML74K.XWLP7
Baseband: I9100XXLPS
If someone can help me to post here a link for one-click solution what is tested and working 100% I will be thankful.
Any help is welcome.
Thx.

1 Cfroot
2 Root without insecure kernel.
I use Odin, but had a lot of difficulties reseting the yellow triangle after, so I bought the triangle away app. (You don't have to b/c it is free at XDA). Now if you find Oneclick method easier, then go for it.

I have the same xwlp7 and rooted and install cm9.
Google xwlp7 u will easily find insecure kernel for it.
U can watch some movies on YouTube to learn it first and get comfortable. Video from galaxys2root.com is good.
If u want to put custom rom then buying rom manager app is the safest and easiest way.

if you have GB then u can use doomlord root toolkit, then you can find the cf root kernel needed to match your kernel, extract till just a zImage, download InitialCFRootFlasher.zip and installed zImage manually that will give you root and cwm, then install mobile odin and away you go with out increasing binary counter. if you are on ICS then there is a thread somewhere on here for rooting ics other than cf root.
InitialCFRootFlasher.zip you unzip it then put you zImage in the insert zImage here folder then click the rooted option
But with this method read read READ, and dont use wrong CF zImage or you will be flashing firmware via odin tofix it

Thx for this, I will try this metod and then notify you is this help me!
I didnt say anything about flashing new kernel, i told you a way of minipulating kernel you have without using insecure kernel and without yellow triangle, only talked about mobile odin for your plans after, but if you trying not to void warrenty and keeping binary count as it is you will need mobile odin to flash original kernel if you ever want to remove cwm, once it is in its hard to remove without replacing kernel. I see someone already gave u link for ics rooting. i read between the lines of OP there is normally only one reason people worry about binary count.
Ps also triangle away app is suppose to reset binary count anyway but never bothered with it myself. every thing i told you about can also be undone without increasing binary count to

OK i KNOW
but it didn't help me
the files that are there are corrupt.
and the instructions they don't match, i don't know what to do there.
anyone knows how or where
anyone knows how or where can i download new recovery+kernel+pit file ?
or at least point me to the right files for me ?
coz in the mentioned thread the pit file is in the GB section and the recovery pack that i think i need'
are in the ics section and the kernel for the ICS is corrupt so i cant use it.
or is it ok to use syiah kernel instead ?
my problem is when i try to install new ROM it stops when trying to write the nand part.

Put any firmware stock or custom to pda, dont touch anything else. Firmware must by .tar or .md5.
Here you can find roms http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1529173 or stock on sammobile.com.

If you get a nand flashing error, then just use correct pit plus repartition marked... in most cases it is enough to just flash pit area, plus of cause a stock rom

As long as the ROM & CSC are correct you can update a rooted phone through Kies, as far as I am not wrong, whereas you will loose root and have to re-root. What is not working is the OTA update if you are rooted.
Hence the easiest solution is to download the ROM via sammobile or XDA and flash it via Odin or better Mobile Odin (to keep root).

thanks guys for immediate response.I think i will just use odin to maintained rooted. my only problem is i am not sure what guide to use and which is safer? although i research myself through i am just confused so many guides in using odin. my phone is GT - I9300 android version 4.1.1 with a baseband ver: i9300XXDLIB. i just want to update this to 4.1.2 if possible via odin to maintain rooted. If you guys can help me out which guide to follow that will maintain rooted and safe that will be much appreciated!
thanks a lot!

As I mentioned, Mobile Odin is the easiest way as you just select the rom and it flashes incl. root injection. For Odin, simply download the rom you would like to flash (e.g. stock rom from sammobile or prerooted from XDA's general section), and follow the usual steps (e.g. there are easy videos to follow on YouTube & there are many guides in the general section). If you chose to flash a rom that is not yet rooted you will need to flash CF-Auto-Root of CF-Root again.

got it! another question if you don't mind, can i use stock rom using odin without unrooting my device? some people say that if you try to flash your device with official stock rom might unroot phone? is this true or just using odin will prevent your phone from unrooting? no matter what rom you would use. thanks in advance!

there are two ways:
(1) Odin (desktop version): if you flash a stock rom (normal version, not rooted), it will be not rooted, hence you have to root again
(2) Mobile Odin (Adroid Play Store): if you flash a stock rom (normal version, not rooted), you have an option to inject root and directly root it in the process of flashing the rom

I see, the mobile odin i guess is suited for me. since i dont want to unroot my device i just want to update it.
you can always reroot it afterwards. Or better yet, flash a prerooted ROM
Hi, i just bought my note 2 and ive already unlocked it and rooted it, i want to use a ROM that has 4.3 Jelly Bean like the N3BULA ROM, it says flash the MJ9 OTA Firmware using Odin. But on the forums there is a forum called "Once you're unlocked don't use odin to flash custom ROMs"
1. I should be able to flash the MJ9 using odin safely right because its not a custom rom right?
2. How do i flash the MJ9 update using odin?
3. Once i flash the MJ9 update can i still use non 4.3 ROM?
Question 1: You are correct.
Question 2: Download, then extract with 7zip. Put phone into download mode. Open Odin on computer and connect the phone. Place extracted md5 into the pda slot and hit start. It'll do it's thing and your phone will reboot and be done.
Question 3: Yes as long as don't take the OTA update from Samsung you will able load roms as usual
Once my phone is in download mode, odin doesn't recognize my phone. Any reason why ? I'm so frustrated

Check your drivers. If you've used casual, sometimes removing those drivers will help and by also installing updated Samsung drivers.
If you've done all of the above and it's still not recognized. I recommend trying a different USB cable.

Info that may help: I searched here in xda not on this device or I'd post a link, for how to install Odin and found that for each Samsung device there are some set of Odin versions that are compatible. I used Odin just now (took less than a minute) version 3.07 for my phone. Note that my drivers were already installed and working since I unlocked the bootloader a year ago. For others: it simply rebooted afterwards and all is well.

Here's a link where you can grab the MJ9 firmware provided by Beanstown106... ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2578458 ). Hey guys instead of starting a new thread I thought I would ask here... I just bought a rooted note 2 on craigslist and it has the N3bula rom on it, but it is the first version. It is a little slow for me, so i wanna flash the N3bula 2 rom, but I am not sure if I have the MJ9 thing on my phone. Is there any way to check?

First of all is the rom stock?
If not try using PhilZ kernel, you don't need to have a computer to get root access, just flash the .zip using stock recovery. You should then be able to get root access and use mobile odin, however I'm not sure if the kernel is compatible with 4.0.3 so just check to make sure. If not, then I'm afraid the only way you'll get root access is through using a computer.
