Well, I just received my phone today and I decided to root it by following a guide. Little did I know that firmware I was rooting was not meant for this phone. Now the phone shows the Samsung screen for a split second and then it turns off.
Is there anything I can do to restore it back to normal? I only have access to download mode right now.

If you can get into download mode you're ok. You need to flash a stock rom and you'll be back to normal. Don't flash chainfire's root from the international thread because the kernel is not the same.

have you try visiting DSC near by. they might be able to help you recover your device with the tool they have.

flashing the sprint clockwork recovery works! Also lets you go into recovery mode

Please elaborate. Flashing the sprint cwm allowed revovery to boot. But android wont. What is the fix for soft brick please help..

Try flashing this It's fixed other bricks earlier.

hello guys, i was using real ics 5.2r, and in installing new rom i.e. Real ICS 5.2, i have selected wrong device as live with walkman by mistaken, after the installation, when the devices rebooted, the screen is not responding to any touches, please suggest any solution.
Please, anyone can give me touchscreen drivers for st15i?

i did it with stock firmware .431 but no change, n after that i flashed the old .42 firmware, now the back key is working but no change to screen, still not responding... did I bricked my device?

let me tell you first what i did,
i went to this forum

then custom kernel ie extended stock kernel with cwm,
then i flashed hybrom rom v12 and then some touchscreen drivers given in that forum, the soft keys started working and touchscreen a bit, but when i reflashed the stock ftf as procedure said, the problem arised back as it, please suggest some good suggestion,

It's not useless at all, but it's useless here. For a custom Rom you need to unlock boot loader which will definitely void warranty. Be safe man.

download an official jb firmware for your phone! download flashtool! enable usb debugging and connect your phone to the pc! Then choose the file you have downloaded and flash it!
You can also use SUS (Sony Update Service)......BTW did you use pcc to install it or downloaded it OTA.....

Try SUS/PCC like a lot here are saying. Hope your Internet connection is enough. God knows I tried via official methods but ended up downloading a generic ftf and flashing it.

Slight correction needed IMO: You need to unlock your BL only when your CUSTOM ROM needs a CUSTOM KERNEL.
He can try to repair phone with pcc or he can unlock bootloader and install STOCK or Custom Rom, who says that flashtool is only for custom roms , With unlocked boot loader he will void warranty.. yes.. a part that... he can lock the bootloader again..and I have not seen written anywhere in his topic question that he does not want to lose warranty... so mine it was just a suggestion... not an Obligation

anyways. My xperia P hasn't got any official update. and i am also waitng for official update rather than a manual update, I know the flashtool method is not a risky one but still you may get some problems in using jellybean. Becase the generic version and your S.I version would not be the same. my S.I = 1261-4989 ,
I have heard many bugs in jellybean, Album issue, white screen in contact and messaging, blutooth broblem, fast drain battery prob, slow charging, lagging, etc i wants to know, are these bugs are real or just a wrong imagination. Thanks
I havent seen any bugs so far for JB on xGO. And it performs quite nicely without having to edit build.prop or run init.d scripts. I'm using CE ftf.

mate im from phils. too. use sony pc companion dont rely on update in ur xp.. use a pc and use sony pc companion it will say that u have an update available. after updating. do factory data reset in the settings ti clean up unnecessary files. ok??
im using sola with unlocked bootloader using final cm9.1..

Maybe something wrong with ur phone's software... Flash a stock ics FTF file and then try rooting it with bin4ry kit... One more thing, bin4ry just updated the rooting kit... Try that too.

i tried with the last one.
i am in Greece.. if i flash it with the stock ICS 6.1.1.C.1.0 file which i found here and it's from T-mobile Croatia, i think that my sim will not work..
My XU is simlocked with Orange - Poland and works great with any region ROM (sometimes GPS needs fixing). Have you tried ADB restore root method from Flashtool? For some reason bin4ry never works for me, but Flashtool one (isn't it the same script?) always works.

I have exact same problem. ICS 6.1.1.C.1.0 and from T-mobile Croatia... I guess I'll check from time to time here if any solution is found.

I´ve choosen "old" with Binary´s Tool.... The Restore Option "RootMe" applys on the phone. It also Reboots, but then... the "CMD-Window" get´s closed and on the phone nothing happened ( Only the background changed).

i have htc amaze 4g .brightex from Pakistan it is not t mobile . its update is not available in pakistan.i tried to install custom roms .but some custom roms stuck on htc logo and some after staring .cynogen11 installed and worked .but it stuck on calling and speaker and microphone are not working . .PLz help me to update my phone to ICS PLZ reply as soon as possible .I shall be very thankful to u plzzz

i have done my cell s off and i have super cid in my cell phone i have installed many custom roms but all roms stuck on starting on htc logo
speed rom installed correctly but in speed rom mic and speaker was not working .
and then try to instal t mobile stock rom but installation aborted on recovery mod . i am in tension i cant update my asian version amaze 4 g plzz help thanks

Try my Rom:

I suggested this because I've not tested other but know about my Rom.
Download the latest 8th update that I'll.update tomorrow.
This Rom has kernal file and also automatically wipes all things except sdcard so let me know if this worked for you or not.
And as you said you're soff then no need
To worry just flash this Rom and let me know..
You're requested to.download 8th update of this Rom.
Smash my thanks button if this.works..
And use 4ext recovery.
And yes in order to flash any Rom you must have to wipe all partitions except sdcard in 4ext.

Actually I am not getting ,.what you want to say but according to my understating I'll.suggest that
First do all the steps in that guide like unlock bootloader,flash 4ext, soff, superCID and flashing RUU of ICS.
After these all you'll be on ICS framework and now you can flash any Rom which is for amaze.
And yes there is no update for Asian amaze so this is the only method to go to ICS.

So after installing ics is it will be updatable & i will receive the ics updates daily

Backup your data, download super sense 4.0, format all partitions then flash super sense 4.0. It works great!

You removed an app in the aroma installer which caused it to do that. You may want to dirty-flash it again so the necessary apks will be there.
