I suggested this because I've not tested other but know about my Rom.
Download the latest 8th update that I'll.update tomorrow.
This Rom has kernal file and also automatically wipes all things except sdcard so let me know if this worked for you or not.
And as you said you're soff then no need

Smash my thanks button if this.works..
And use 4ext recovery.

Actually I am not getting ,.what you want to say but according to my understating I'll.suggest that
First do all the steps in that guide like unlock bootloader,flash 4ext, soff, superCID and flashing RUU of ICS.
After these all you'll be on ICS framework and now you can flash any Rom which is for amaze.
And yes there is no update for Asian amaze so this is the only method to go to ICS.

You removed an app in the aroma installer which caused it to do that. You may want to dirty-flash it again so the necessary apks will be there.

Check : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1669906. Download image, boot phone in Flashmode ( Vol down + USB connect if i remember correctly ) , and flash it. The software is pretty self-explanatory.
It's always good to keep backup, if nothing else but to revert to stock/earlier Rom without losing all data.

Put it on sd card root....press and hold power on and volume up key....choose install from sd card and choose that rom

One of them is a torrent, I would recommend that, even though I downloaded the Indian ftf. I don't think it makes a difference which one you use, especially if you're going to switch to a custom Rom later.

Technically it shouldn't. There was a huge rush to flash the Indian version, at it was the first of the Sola ICS' on XDA. Loads of people flashed it, irrespective of region. I guess it doesn't matter as in case we ever need to give back to Sony, they'll have bigger issues than checking which version of stock we're on. I'm not really sure though
have kept the global version to download...maybe it will take a day or so and i can flash only then

My phone sk17i is working fine as the other phones.The only problem i have is that the touch is not working,but the soft keys are working.I am not sure whether this happened due to ota update.i did ota update when i was in unlocked bootloader. the touch worked fine for 3 days and later touch alone didnt work.my phone is working fine as of now.i am using keyboard to each and every activity.can any one help to restore my touch.

i installed custom rom.then i flashed my phone to 2.3.4.then did a ota upadte when i was in unlocked bootloader.surprisingly the phone worked fine for 4 days.finally touch is gone.but soft keys are working.phone functions normally.
Well guys I just got a new Gnote from Rogers and I followed the NOOB friendly tutorials to root my phone and be able to flash custom ROMS ... ROOT is OK
Now each time I try to flash a ROM in CWM I receive an Error something like (STATUS 7) aborted blabla (plz see Picture below)

I had Previously had an xperia RAY and i had no problem flashing roms kernels n stuff ... I didnt saw anything talking about unlocking bootloader on GNOTE I717 so idk if I have missed something or what do i need to do after rooting my phone just flash a ROM and Kernel?

So TWRP over cwmr?? I haven't tried twrp yet cause I'm fairly new to all this still. I'm rooted but weary of using cwmr to flash roms and end up bootlooping or something and weary of twrp cause I haven't tried it yet.. apologies for the redundancy.

CwM was good but I've been using TWRP since one of my phones came with it already installed. Throw a theme on it and your good to go.

I was having the same issue last night and found out I just needed to update cwm. Worked like a charm ever since.
Get goo manager off play store ....menu .....install open recovery script ...boom you have latest twrp.. And no more error 7

tried using the latest cwm recovery and the latest twrp plus the cwm touch recovery as well as the open script recovery. im trying to install the latest liquid smooth 2.4 on my sprint galaxy s3 right now im running the 2.3 version but the 2.4 release wont flash because the Status 7 error. every time i try to install i wipe everything i can 3 times to make sure and it still hasnt helped. been struggling for 3 days now any help?

Do you have access to bootloader or recovery?
If you can boot to recovery:
Copy the ROM you want to the SD card, wipe partitions from recovery, flash ROM.
You don't have to be S-OFF to flash a ROM.

If you have 4EXT recovery then:
1. Put this ROM on your External SD.http://download2.clockworkmod.com/developer/2184/2115/ruby_unsigned_021812_031444.zip
2. wipe | format >> wipe data / factory reset
3. wipe | format >> wipe cash + dalvik
4. install from sdcard >> choose zip from sdcard >> Aforementioned ROM zip
Enjoy your new experience!..

i live in india and need to update my HTC amaze 4g unbranded version to ICS
i wanted to ask if the link you provided would update my device to ICS or it will remain at GB
i have unlocked its bootloader and also rooted it.......and then I thought i would install a custom ROM in it but i couldn't manage to S-OFF it........i downloaded the juopunutbear s-off tool, read several posts regarding it, and tried my best, but the main problem is that i couldn't get the program to even startup on my PC
i have seen many people running the tool on their windows PC on youtube, but they don't tell how to actually run it.....can you please help me start up this program.....i'll do the rest of the process by myself once i get it started
i have a Windows 8, 7, and an XP PC but I just can't run the juopunutbear program.......please help me

Yea you'll remain in GB.. I say xP is safe, also you have to have the windows version to start it from windows you can't run the Ubuntu version on windows if you have the windows version there's a exe file called ControlBear.exe if i remember right it'll start the programme I can't remember the name that good its been a long time since I s off so Yea a exe file

How is it a 5min thing if i don't have a file and I have to download and install that recover thing and recovery a file i deleted last February?? ... For you its a 20min(for downloading) and 5min to get it working.. I mean the live cd... If the software developers don't want those files to be in public you have to respect their wishes and do as they've said.. Also if you find enough you'll find the windows version too, it's the internet everything is there lol

Well i have a 44mbps broadband connection but have a damn limit my Internet dongle is 21mbps so yea but roughly it takes around that right?

You are so lucky that you are living in developed country.
I m from India which is developing country and here we are using 2G speed at high cost
We have only 15-30 kbps download speed from Mobile...
And here 3G is like a dream and here costs very high and even paying that we got only 1 or 2 gb with hardly 1 mbps downloading speed
Thats y I m wondering....

He is in Sri Lanka, right under you.
I'm not sure how things are there, hopefully good, but if the government isn't corrupt like India, then I would say they're in good shape.

321 megabytes for a Sense Rom is pretty small, others are bigger like 400mb.
And I wouldn't call India great they were defeated by China in 5 days and had to run away.
But let's not get into that.

Looooooool we're sharing your Internet bahahahah, I mean our country is not a developed country at all India is one of the richest in world our Internet cost double than yours cuz we're sharing it from your country I have a 12gb download limit but pretty fast the normal dialup connections in here have the speeds like you mentioned.. Well I wish I was in South Korea they have the fastest

Yup I agree with this and if you are talking about China than they are cheaters at all that all over India knows very well.

Hi iam new to xda-developer and iam in a heck of problem.
I have recently unlocked my htc amaze and installed custom recovery 4EXT, i did recover my rom (ginger bread version).
then i flashed speedRom 8.0. after changing the kernel(updated clock speed in order to support speedRom8.0 using the
faux kernel .)
After that i performed recovery to my stock ROM,but does not go beyond the white screen
Iam really stuck...dont know what to do ..performed full wipe ...But no use... please help....in a lot of trouble!!!!!!!!!!!!

Done finally got back stock rom...
I was missing the orginal kernal...flashed boot.img and its booting up!!!:laugh:

You can flash kernal through AIO toolkit.
Just connect your phone in recovery mode and start that soft in PC.
For flashing kernal..file..
And your phone will be booted up
..

the problem is my phone is not going in recovery mode,,, and i have NO idea why!?
To boot your phone in recovery mode, you can go to developer settings in your phone, select USB debugging and boot it in recovery mode using the amaze toolkit 4.1 or All-in-One toolkit for the amaze.

You can also download a rebooter on the play store. That will help you reboot your phone into recovery mode.
