I rooted my phone a few months ago and installed a package to boost the loudness of the phone when it rings etc (I followed a step by step page to do this).
For the last month or so my phone downloads the Jelly Bean update on a daily basis and each time I'm taken to the CWM screen where it gives me an option to just restart the phone.
I would like to update to Jelly Bean but I'm not sure what I do.. I'm new to Android and rooting so I'm not entirely sure how it all works.
Most importantly, If I do update to Jelly Bean, will I lose my package that I installed to make my phone sounds louder?

Update via Kies .

Yes of course you lose old stuff in the system as you are installing a new system .
Start by one reading the rules and two read the basics .

i just really want to use the appsync app so i can play apps on my tablet and my phone and not have to restart like so im lvl 32 on bloons td5 on my tablet and when i go to my phone im lvl 1 so i want to sync them up
If you want to flash roms you need to unlock the bootloader first.
If you still have a custom recovery and just lost root should be able to flash supersu.zip

Today I lost my Samsung S3. Can't remember exactly what rom I had on it but I had a working jellybean 4.1 that allow me to use Fox fi/PDA net. I desperately need this program to allow me fast download speeds by Wi-Fi. I do not want to use tether because if my phone is not plugged into a power outlet the battery will die after all night of downloading. Basically I need pointed to a jellybean 4.1 ROM that is super stable. Jellybean 4.1 because Foxfi/PDA net only works with 4.1. Maybe a official jellybean from with just the bloatware gone. I have not been on the site for a while so I need a walk-through of what I need to do first with my phone as soon as I get it. Do I need to root it before I install the ROM? If you guys could tell me what I need to do and the order I need too. Maybe send me the links of the walk-throughs. I would be very grateful. As of right now I feel I'm screwed.:crying: please please help. I'm a Verizon wireless customer also.

I'm not sure which one I have because I receive my new phone tomorrow. But this link that you sent me seems like it should help me dramatically on how to do stuff. If I end up having the 9300 then I see where I can get the stock jellybean 4.1 but if I have the 9305 I'm not seeing it. do I root first or do I flash first before I install ROMs.

You neither root nor flash until you have read the basics .
Root has nothing to do with stock flash .
But please please be sure you know what you are doing first and are in the right forum .
Your older posts are not for this model SGS3 but a USA based version if its the same firmware or mods from International I9300 can easily brick your phone .

I recently ran into a problem with my verizon samsung galaxy s4. I had been running numerous custom roms for a few months now and It started to get a big buggy when i was running cm 10.1 nightly so I decided to use the [GUIDE] No-Wipe Factory Images (Restore from any soft-brick without wiping data) to get back to stock software and flash a different rom. After rooted using motorchopper. However any I have tried rom now has a problem, I can't reset phone or it gets stuck in bootloop till I flash a different rom using twrp. It's really strange, also when botting the phone says samsung galaxy s 4 and it used to say samsung galaxy s4 unlocked. Is it possible my bootloader got messed up, I'm not sure what happened and the stock software sucks. I thought it might have accepted the ota update but I am still running VRUAMDK build so I dont think so. Any help would be great and appreciated.
Sorry if its something stupid, Thanks for a response Chris
You try going back to stock by Odin?

ODIN back to MDK. Then redo everything from there. I wouldn't try anything crazy with the recovery. If you accepted the OTA, you can root using the MD2 bootloader then use titanium back up to freeze a script (forgot which one but it's listed on here) to prevent the ME7 loader from being flashed.
hi there
I received official 4.3 update. frankly i didnt like it just like the jeally bean. call me crazy but i really liked the ICS too much and it was more than i need. i usually downgrade from jellaybean to ICS without any problems. its just last night when i tried to do that from the 4.3 i lost my Imei and it leads to no network thing / lost signal !! i was trying to use my stock room ( latest ICS update ) which is I9300XXBLH1_I9300OJVBLH1_XSG but now after flashing this as i mentioned i cant do calls.
Is there is any way to fix this? i heard that i have to flash the modem and thats all. please help am currently on 4.3 .
thank you soo much guys.

Hi guys,
I looked through the forum and there are quite a mix of information regarding downgrading from CM 11 to stock 4.3 jelly bean on SG3 I9305 (international version). I am a noob at this stuff but got lucky when flashing CM 11 lol, so could you advice me proper steps to downgrade it back to 4.3 rom. I fed up with all the bugs of CM11. The speaker is buggy, coudl not hear properly and many things.
my phone specs:
Android version 4.4.4
Kernel 3.0.64-CM-g526d694
Please give me a link to a thread with step by step guide so i dont brick my phone.
Thank you so much
