There's a new sub forum, Rezound original development, just about anything not Sense based has been moved there.
Sometimes you have to be smarter than your smartphone.
If you're using Tapatalk or XDA app, you'll probably need to unsubscribe from the Rezound forum, completely exit the app, and resubscribe to get the new forum structure to show it. At least, that's what I had to do.
Or just go to the forum list, where all the devices are listed, and press Menu - Refresh.

Nice observation, I am using the app and I just had to subscribe to the new section.... And I'm glad they added it, to weed out all the "old stuff"... Thanks again shrike... You the man. One other question for you inparticular, what phone are you upgrading to? Seeing as we bothed rocked the charge, now I followed you over to the rezound. Might as well upgrade with you. Lol. I'm running your pmem Pac-man Rom as my daily and loveing it.

I have no plans beyond the Rezound at the moment. Not gonna do another Samsung until they realize that OLED is a dead-end (or they break physics by completely, 100% fixing pixel fade), and the DNA hasn't shown me anything I gotta have.
Also, the new superphones are just universally too big.

I would love to be able to just say hay HTC unlock or else we no longer buy your product. But we are geeks. Unless there is something like this out that is able to be rooted from the beginning it's just not going to happen.
For me I love this phone. I have switch launchers and it's even better. I can wait for now to remove the extra bloat. And then get better kernels. But for now it's the very best out there.
Lets see if we can find a way to root. And not have to depend on HTC.

Secondly, the massive "Got Root" thread is loaded to the gills with emails to and from HTC, with HTC claiming that the bootloader will eventually be unlocked.

Development on this device won't "really" get underway until this phone is unlocked.
Feedback from users is what caused HTC to even consider, then agree to unlock. Now they need to follow through and I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see them try to wait us out and see if interest dies off.
Any of you that say you are here for the purpose or in the interest of developing for this phone then bash this thread should get your misguided heads out of your asses and get behind this so we can see REAL development here.
And any of you criticizing others for suggesting they'll return the phone if it stays locked: WHY ARE YOU EVEN HERE?????

source hasnt dropped, the sdk is out and someone has it on the nexus s 4g, probably wont see a stable one until cm. also this is the wrong section.

I have ICS on my vibrant now. Real easy to jsut compile your own from the sdk and flash.
Can't get gps working though.
3-4 Months until you have something usable. That is provided the Vibrant still has developers left to work on it. A lot of ppl switched.

There are hundreds of articles that say that google is releasing the source code once "it is officially on devices".

How long will it take them to have a working rom is another question. The gps issue we have with gingerbread has never been actually fixed, I think it is a driver issue..?

First of all, it's still a question, regardless of the content, unless there is a specific development thread about ics, this question belongs in the q&a section, you're not someone special where the rules don't apply.
Secondly, since source for ics hasn't even been released yet (this is the vibrant, so some sdk port won't ever work, regardless of your secret hopes and dreams), and even then, it's gonna take people a bit to get situated with the new code, and get used to the new features, apis, and bugs.
To ask for a timeline for something that's not even out into phones that it's actually built for is kinda insulting to people IMHO.
But, I give it 2-3 months after source drop to get into a basic useable form on the vibrant.

First, I never said you demanded a a timeline, I said you asked. And the hopes and dreams thing wasn't directly at you, it was directed at all the people who don't finish reading a sentence, and only tale from a sentence what they want and twist everything around (and also takes cares of the stupid "one can hope" comments).

"Development" forums are pretty self-explanatory; if you made it, it goes here. If you didn't make it, it doesn't go here. We might sometimes be dicks about it but that's usually only because of how confident OPs feel about the fact they're perfectly within their right to put things like this in this section.

Honestly don't think it has to do with age some people are just like that. I can see the confusion between posting here and Dev forum since the original thread was posted in dev forum. Someone corrected OP, now he knows. Lets just move on.
I have had the Google Now for two or three days now and even though it doesn't have Voice, I prefer it over the default search. Before if you wanted to search for something on the web you had to search and then tap on the result and it would open it on your web browser. This actually opens it up right away inline within the app without having to open a web browser. You can then select images, places or your own phone. I think people that are looking away from it simply because it doesn't have voice search should give it another look. Between the cards and the inline searching, it's obviously better.
hey guys. will eventually be rooting and playing around with some roms in the next few weeks such as cyanogen, speed, etc. I really want to use my amaze, dont feel like getting a new phone right now.

Might as well get it over with. It's personal preference. There are some GREAT ROMS for this AMAZING phone.
YOU are the only one who can decide if YOU wanna spend some cash on a new phone. Chicks dig the Amaze. Our Devs work hard to hook us up.
That said, no one cares if you buy a new phone or hang with the Amaze. If you are asking if this phone is still technologically sound the answer is YES...again depending on your needs.

Haven't checked the amaze forum since yesterday and the useless thread and 'what phone are you upgrading to etc' are both in the 10 most recent threads... Having to search would even be a stretch, simply looking at any other threads on the first page would have lead you to the right place.

I just noticed that another dev has left over a bunch of bull. I don't understand this forum for this device. I have had this phone for just under a month and seems like devs drop it right and left. I may get dropped from this site for speaking my opinion, but I find this place gets more childish as time goes on. I think it is great we have moderation, but there's a point when it goes over board. I'm seeing more and more devs not even posting there work here. Shame a great site is going down so quikly.

Not sure of what happened exactly, but on any forum, the mods are the ones responsible for keeping everyone in check. With that being said, I think that we have too few mods here, because it looks like things got out of hand way before the mods closed the thread or really did anything.
More mods means that someone might have been able to calm everyone down, or at least punish the offending party satisfactorily. There should never be a thread closed for something as great as the Devs make here because of some jackoff who ruins it for everyone.
I know that the mods can't be everywhere all the time....but maybe a few more wouldn't hurt.
Just something to think about.

+1. I feel worse, because I was flashing stuff and I didn't get the updated PAC before it disappeared. I hope the next phone I get is something he'll be working on. Also blows because I was looking forward to the FirefoxOS that he had in the works.
I know he's not the only good dev, but he -was- a good one.
Listen he left to go dev for the note 2 which is the device he just picked up.
Everyone needs to stop with the drama.
By that I mean each dev is free to do as they please and go where they want. This garbage last night was just that and it will be dropped as of this post
Mazda's threads are set up correctly and credited correctly. He is GPL compliant and there are no issues
Jamie's comments last night...while having a little merit should have been dealt with in private and not brought into a public forum.
Unless you have the whole story between these two devs (which 99.999% of u do not) then I'd recommend minding ur business and not starting more issues or taking sides as its not ur place nor do u have any idea what your talking about.
