So atlast a bug free update was released by SONY for SXP but again wierd bug found in camera that was annoying me....
So i decided to make a fix for it and succeeded successfully
BUG:
While using camera on 8MegaPixel Mode at night (using flash) focusing a very close object half the image turns black...
Many of us didnt notice the bug but it is there confirmed see this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=34921597&postcount=104
Requirements:
--> Firmware 6.1.1.B.1.54 or B.1.75 (because bug is in this firmware only )
--> Root
--> CWM (work on both locked and unlocked BL)
--> or Root Explorer (if you do not have CWM and want to copy files using it)
Instructions:
Just flash this zip in CWM or copy files to receptive folders using Root Explorer and change proper permissions to get camera working like before firmwares :good:
This contains lib files from 6.1.B.0.559 firmware
Enjoy and do hit THANKS button (Its Free )

My Xperia U Too Slow I Have Tried Many Methods Posted In General Discussion I Also Rooted My U(w/o unlocking bootloader). Currently Using ICS(6.1.1.B.1.10 firmware) And My Free RAM Is Always Less Then 120MB.I Also Installed App Quarantine To Freeze Unwanted App Bt Still Nothing Works. Even Games Like Temple Oz Lagging In It. Bt When I AM Using It On GB I Can Play Maxpayne And Other Games w/o Any Lag.Please Suggest Me Some Good Method To Make It Fast I Am New Here And Hoping For A Some Good Answers.Any Type Of Help Will Be Appreciated.
best is to upgrade to a newer firmware of ics... the build u r using is the oldest/first ics build... so i suggest u should upgrade..(use flashtool and a proper ftf file)
Actually 120 mb free ram is more than sufficient u can't change it because system also need ram to work however you can download clean master this app is really helpful to manage your system or uninstall unwanted apps
Here is my free ram

Yea. Either root and cwm your current ics then flash GB-Rocks rom. Or use flashtool and flash the standard gb ftf.

My Phone Is Rooted And I Dont Know Anything ANout Flasing Is It Safe? And ALso How Much Free RAM Will Be There IN GB ?
Choice for you!!
First of all Welcome to XDA Bro!!
Now for ur problem. There are 2 solutions which I can mention.
1) Flash a Better Stock ROM.
Choose this method if you have a Locked Bootloader and don't want to Unlock it or If you can't Unlock your Bootloader.
I would suggest you to Flash a Stock based ROM - Venezuela Xperia U MOD
Remember though that for this ROM you first need to flash Stock B.1.100 ROM (B.1.10 and B.1.100, both are different).
Instructions are already there within the respective Thread.
Click to collapse
2) Flash a Custom ROM
Choose this method If you have already unlocked your bootloader or wish to unlock it.
This is my preferred option as a Custom CM/AOKP/AOSP ROM is much much better compared to Stock/based ROMs as it is void of any kind of Bloatware and provides better performance/responsiveness.
For this option I would recommend you to Flash SlimCM ROM which is a CM based one.
Though keep in mind that by flashing a Custom ROM you will lose Bravia Engine/xLOUD/Illumination Bar* like facilities.
Illumination Bar will only work for Notifications, it will not glow when you will touch the capacitive buttons. It will not give you the chameleon like effect when you open Music app or Gallery app.

Choice is yours.
PS: I also read that you are new to flashing. For flashing, first of all you'll need "Flashtool" which is a software. Just Google it. Then search for some guides to using Flashtool on XDA.

So How Much Amnt Of Free RAM U Have In Ur Phone?
Hi,
As per the new firmware update reported by viijay4b7, check the below link.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=45161808&postcount=20
I was wondering how to update the firmware without flashing the entire ROM. finally figured out and made a update zip.
This update is working on MIUI ROMs
This update only replaces the system/etc/firmware/* with the new firmware, i still need to figure out how to replace the boot.img
I haven't tested it on other roms, this will need different set of permissions for different ROMs
Please take backup of you ROM before flashing this
Try it at your own risk, I take no responsibility for any damages to your phone.
Feedback appreciated.
If the update doesn't work please reboot into recovery and restore the backup, let me know the ROM your are using, will try and provide an update.

If you are able to make calls and data line is working then no need to dirty flash.... but i would advice to reflash....
Was it showing earlier? are you getting any errors? Can you share recovery log. Also goto system/etc/firmware folder and check if you have additional folder starting with ft5206. If yes then baseband must be updated. This folder was not present in earlier roms.

Hello Guys , I have a Xperia U rooted and bootloader is unlocked but when I go to any app that requires root such as Root explorer , it says I do not have root access , I went to the Playstore and downloaded Root Checker and It says my phone is rooted .
More about my phone In case it helps
I Flashed :
Stock Jellybean V5
Increase Gaming Performance Kernel 2.5.3
Metal Brush Accent Theme V3.1
I have SuperUser installed and my phone has been through alot of flashes but I finally settled down with a Rom So I deleted my Data , System And all the other stuff , reflash a ICS Sony Stock , Re-rooted it and installed CWM , Install Stock Jelly Bean V5 and then unroot and reroot again . And Btw My phone cannot factory reset , whenever I click on factory reset , it says reseting but my internal storage is still not erased . Please Help
have u simply opened superuser and updated the binaries?
