Hello Guys , I have a Xperia U rooted and bootloader is unlocked but when I go to any app that requires root such as Root explorer , it says I do not have root access , I went to the Playstore and downloaded Root Checker and It says my phone is rooted .
More about my phone In case it helps
I Flashed :
Stock Jellybean V5
Increase Gaming Performance Kernel 2.5.3
Metal Brush Accent Theme V3.1
I have SuperUser installed and my phone has been through alot of flashes but I finally settled down with a Rom So I deleted my Data , System And all the other stuff , reflash a ICS Sony Stock , Re-rooted it and installed CWM , Install Stock Jelly Bean V5 and then unroot and reroot again . And Btw My phone cannot factory reset , whenever I click on factory reset , it says reseting but my internal storage is still not erased . Please Help
have u simply opened superuser and updated the binaries?

By Experimental Kernel , do you mean , after I flash Jelly Bean Stock V5 I have to flash the newest kernel from here ?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2326515
Because I like V5 better and I don't want V6
yea, that's your issue! keep V5, just download and flash that kernel in recovery and all should work, i put V5, experimental kernel and the illumination fix on my mum's XU and all is brilliant

Hi,
M having flashtool. 9.8.0
Just wanted ask is there any benefit of updating to. 9.10.1 ??!
Changelog there is not so helpful
Also I have a limited data plan so need to b assured about what m downloading
Thanks
There are bugs in rooting some devices using 9.8.0.0 You can download a little update to get the 9.8.1.0 version which those bugs are fixed, but personally I prefer to spent more time downloading the new 9.10.1.0 version
R: flashtool new version benefits???
I have 9.8.1 lol and it work perfectly, when it dont work anymore i will update
This version has a cleaner Ui as compared to previous plus root is fixed and its a lot more faster

Hello Guys,
After lots of trying & failing, I finally succeeded to get the illumination bar working in Stock JB. It now works like ICS and you can use it on all Stock JB ROM without flashing ICS first.
Note 1: I saw that Little Zed had a thread about this but since my method is a bit different than his, I decided to create a new thread. Hope no one's angry
Note 2: After flashing the zip----
SP light effects will be gone.
Illumination Receiver will be gone.
Install Illumination Bar Notification. It will work like ICS.
Initial Boot Led will work
This should solve the "Screen Always On" problem.
Walkman & Album will change color according to selection.
Note 3: If you ever wipe data, you'll need to flash this again.
Instructions
1) Flash via recovery
2) After booting led will be white. Just change theme and led color will work.
ChangeLog
V1:
- fixed bash script
V2:
- fixed end message :silly:
- fixed progressbar glitch.
- added a little sleep time during flashing
- no need to flash if you're using V1
F.A.Q
- if after flashing led doesn't work, then see this post HERE
~~Credits~~

It'll work. After flashing, open terminal emulator and type this
Code:
su
chmod -R 777 /data/lightservice.soc
reboot
After reboot, it should work. Just a temporary walk around. I'll fix it. Please try and report back

Yeap, after doing that, the illumination bar started to work again. Finally I can make a clean JB installation. Thanks!!
Update
Updated the link with new fixes. Now you don't need to use terminal emulator. Just flash via cwm and enjoy . And please report back.
Flashed last fix but system is so lagging.. I'm using it on stock JB V5 by devswift1!
I also wiped cache and dalvik cache, using it from 2 hours and it lags

There's only one important bug:
You wrote "enoy" instead of "enjoy" in installer script!
No lagging, just like in ICS!

Just the display brightness is now too dim on V5 with automatic adapting, but manually adjusting the switch seams lot better

NONE, including first boot.
Even working with Illumination Bar Notifier by @rundgong!
HOW DID YOU DO THIS? No, no, don't tell either me or everyone, I just loved your magic…
I'm using an improved-by-me mixture of @DevSwift1's V3 based in 6.2.A.0.400 and others based in 6.2.A.1.100 (from them I mostly included newer apps, so it's mainly 6.2.A.0.400 yet but so stable as newer one). I won't change this primary ROM even if KitKat is released as stable as Jelly Bean for Xperia™ U.
I'd install KK as secondary ROM only.
By the way, cleverly written line:
Code:
delete("/system/app/SemcIlluminationSetting.apk");
You've thought of everyone who might has installed that mod of Xperia™ SP light effects! You don't deserve that name…
EDIT: Oh, you were telling us about it in OP's note 2… I was as enthusiastic as you that I didn't read it before… LOL!
Ok, I'm piping down now. I just didn't know how to thank you, ouch… O[]ò"
