So.. Yeah. I've got this question. I changed Bootanimation to RAZR HD's one, and I'll also added sound for it in System/media, however it still plays this crappy samsung theme. Any way to change it?
I'm on i9305 using Pandoriam 5.7 ROM
Rename PowerOn.ogg in system/media/audio/ui to PowerOn.ogg.bak, then rename your file to PowerOn.ogg an put it to system/media/audio/ui.

I need help with restoring the stock Galaxy S2 boot animation.
This was what happened. I installed jrummy's Root Tools.
In my eagerness, I replaced the original boot animation without backing up!
Now when I want to undo the changes that has been done, many an online search suggested going to system/media and removing bootanimation.zip so that bootsamsung and bootsamsungloop can work their magic...
And here is where the problem is, bootanimation.zip is nowhere to be found!
I wonder if Root Tools had totally overwritten bootsamsung and bootsamsungloop.
All I want is to get back the original bootanimation sequence.
Can anyone help with this? TIA!!!
Here is the original bootanimation
Just unzip the attached zip file and copy and paste the attached bootsamsung.qmp and bootsamsungloop.qmg to system/media and you are done..
BTW is your poweron sound intact??
Thanks bro! The poweron sound is still present.
I have resolved the problem. Apparently, I have been going at it wrongly.
I had been using Astro as file manager but it didn't allow me to access data/local where bootanimations.zip was.
After I switched to RootExplorer and removed the offending file, voila!

or if u dont mind, u can upload your system/media folder thx :good:
Thanks for that, i was looking for that also
I have read many post on changing the boot audio along with the boot animation, but was unable to get it to work with my bionic so i did some foot work with my budy and we figured out how to change the boot audio on the droid Bionic.
1. Download and extract the bootanimation file.
2. Backup/Move your stock bootanimation file out of system/bin
3. Move the new bootanimation file to system/bin
4. Move selected audio (Must be mp3 format and named "android_audio") to system/media
Reboot phone and enjoy =)
Thank you!
Hmm have to try it..
I'm having trouble with using your file. When I try it out i get nothing but a black screen when i try to replace the system/bin bootanimation file with yours. Is there anything that i'm missing?
Thank You

To apply follow steps :
1 in stock rom :
using a root browser, replace the two files *bootanimation* and *samsungani* in CustomBootAnimationFiles.zip in system/bin.
replace bootanimation.zip *not extract* in system/media.
for sound, replace poweron.ogg in poweron.ogg.zip in system/etc.
2 in custom rom :
just replace bootanimation.zip *not extract* in system/media.
for sound, replace poweron.ogg in poweron.ogg.zip in system/etc.

Hello, sorry if i posted in wrong section.
I'm trying to add system sounds into my phone, but not all of them works.
Most of these sounds were already in so they are just replaced, new ones are:
FullBattery.ogg
PowerOff.ogg
PowerOn.ogg
Warning.ogg
VolumeIncremental.ogg
Those that don't work are:
camera_focus.ogg
Dock.ogg
Undock.ogg
Effect_tick.ogg
FullBattery.ogg
LowBattery.ogg
PowerOn.ogg
PowerOff.ogg
VolumeIncremental.ogg
My question is is it possible to make them work? If yes, how to do it?
One archive is orginal files (ui.zip) and second is my mod (HazardousEnvoirmentPhone.zip)
Try to copy your ui folder from twrp
All sound are already in system/media/audio/ui, I used other sound mod to flash using twrp.
I've noticet that this question has been brought up few times and nobody ever bothered answering it.
Since I've had my N970U rooted I've been trying to replace the Bootanimation but couldn't find it. I have no idea what qmg files are in /system/media but when I replaced a few times it made no difference to the bootanimation. I'm posting this because I couldn't find the location of it all across the internet. So if anyone is interested it's found in: /product/omc/ "Choose your Carrier"/res/media. That is the animation you want to replace.
The "shutdown.qmg" is not in the same folder for some reason. Shutdown is in /system/media. Sound is PowerOn.ogg in /system/media/audio/UI.
It seems like a lot of people don't care about the boot animations anymore but I'm not about to have a rooted phone with the stock animation even if I have to deal with the stock rom, lol
Boot Animation: /product/omc/ "Choose your Carrier"/res/media
Shutdown Animation: /system/media
Boot Animation Sound (PowerOn.ogg): /system/media/audio/UI
