S3 BOOT ANIMATION AND SOUND IN GALAXY Y
To apply follow steps :
1 in stock rom :
using a root browser, replace the two files *bootanimation* and *samsungani* in CustomBootAnimationFiles.zip in system/bin.
replace bootanimation.zip *not extract* in system/media.
for sound, replace poweron.ogg in poweron.ogg.zip in system/etc.
2 in custom rom :
just replace bootanimation.zip *not extract* in system/media.
for sound, replace poweron.ogg in poweron.ogg.zip in system/etc.

I need help with restoring the stock Galaxy S2 boot animation.
This was what happened. I installed jrummy's Root Tools.
In my eagerness, I replaced the original boot animation without backing up!
Now when I want to undo the changes that has been done, many an online search suggested going to system/media and removing bootanimation.zip so that bootsamsung and bootsamsungloop can work their magic...
And here is where the problem is, bootanimation.zip is nowhere to be found!
I wonder if Root Tools had totally overwritten bootsamsung and bootsamsungloop.
All I want is to get back the original bootanimation sequence.
Can anyone help with this? TIA!!!
Here is the original bootanimation
Just unzip the attached zip file and copy and paste the attached bootsamsung.qmp and bootsamsungloop.qmg to system/media and you are done..
BTW is your poweron sound intact??
Thanks bro! The poweron sound is still present.
I have resolved the problem. Apparently, I have been going at it wrongly.
I had been using Astro as file manager but it didn't allow me to access data/local where bootanimations.zip was.
After I switched to RootExplorer and removed the offending file, voila!

I am pretty sure you need to use a root file explorer, i would recomend root browser lite - https://market.android.com/details?...xLDEsImNvbS5qcnVtbXkucm9vdC5icm93c2VyZnJlZSJd
bootanimation.zip shows for me in system/media/ using root explorer

Original boot animation files are not zip files .
Two QMG files .
You want to read the instructions for the bootanimation you want to flash .
jje
if your using a root with nand unlock, you can use absolute system root from the app market and download and apply hundreds of boot animations if thats any help mate.
just place the bootanimation.zip in system/media
if want sound just put in system/etc/ (name it > PowerOn.wav ) this is not mp3..
My devices is Realme C12 and I have rooted it.. But there is no Boot Animation.zip in system/media and if I try to paste a bootanimation.zip there it gives me an error.. Root is Properly installed and I am using Solid Explorer.
for those who want to go back to stock Samsung animations, here you go!
just extract them to their respective folders
bootsamsungloop.qmg & bootsamsung.qmg = system/media (start up animation)
shutdown.qmg = system/media/video/shutdown (shutdown animation)
power_on.ogg & power_off.ogg = system/media/audio/ui (power on & off sounds)
try deleting "bootanimation.zip" from app/local folder to make the animations work, it tends to overlap the .qmg files from starting if you keep it there (at least that was the case for me)
for some reason the S3 shutdown animation works but the boot up doesn't for the Galaxy Note
Check data/local/ for a place to put your boot animation zip.

what i meant was you don't need the bootanimation.zip.. just the bootsamsung.qmg & bootsamsungloop.qmg
in my case whenever there's a bootanimation.zip installed, it plays instead of the .qmg files which i prefer playing. so there.. the fix is just don't put a bootanimation.zip when you're using .qmg
WITH the bootanimation.zip installed = slow slooooow boot up animation but the same
WITHOUT the bootanimation.zip = fast animation and perfectly normal
So.. Yeah. I've got this question. I changed Bootanimation to RAZR HD's one, and I'll also added sound for it in System/media, however it still plays this crappy samsung theme. Any way to change it?
I'm on i9305 using Pandoriam 5.7 ROM
Rename PowerOn.ogg in system/media/audio/ui to PowerOn.ogg.bak, then rename your file to PowerOn.ogg an put it to system/media/audio/ui.
Hi,
I own a Samsung Galaxy A5 (SM-A500G) running on Lollipop 5.0.2. I have recently rooted my device and have installed a Root Explorer. My aim was to change my boot animation. At first, I thought that I would replace the bootanimation.zip in system/media, but then, I couldn't find any zip file in there.
I had many files, but the only three which seemed to be related to boot animation were these :
bootsamsung.qmg
bootsamsungloop.qmg
bootsamsungmini.qmg
I am sure that I can also do it by flashing the animation in recovery mode. But, I also like my default Samsung animation. If I had found the original bootanimation.zip, I would make a backup and would be able to restore the original animation whenever I wanted. But, with no original bootanimation.zip, how would I do that?
Thanks..

Oh! I understood that. Newer Samsung devices like this don't support the bootanimation.zip. It uses the .qmg format. At least other people who have this query will be helped...
