Title basically says it all...
I was wondering what magazines everyone is reading on their Samsung Galaxy Note II. I've been interested in subscribing to a couple magazines, but don't know how the experience is on a mobile phone compared to hard copies.

Wired is easily my favorite magazine, but I still get it in print

Hey,
So you guys that keep print and electronic, do you pay for both service? Or are there some magazine that allow one subscription for both?
Do you enjoy the experience on the Note 2?

Since the anticipation of getting my galaxy note I've already noticed a few instances where I would LOVE to have one already. In general, I have this habit of writing random crap down on paper, and folding the paper up, putting it in my pocket, and losing it later. I'm a pack rat, so if I don't lose them, the papers just build up, even though I don't read them. It would be so handy to just have them all stored in my phone.
I'm looking for some specific examples here. I think this would be kind of fun to talk about.
Specific examples for me:
-while watching youtube videos about Starcraft strategy, I would want to write down the build order on the note, then alt tab into the game and try it out, references what I wrote on the note.
-Quickly writing down my schedule at work, so that I can program it into my phone later when I have time.
-writing down what my coworkers want me to go order for them at random restaurant i go to
I hope that I find myself in tons of situations where I have to use the pen. Only one I can think of is to pass time at work drawing random pictures.
Using the s-pen to take notes while on conference/speaker phone call . I think that will be handy.
Also I understand smemo (?) can be synced with evernote of which I'm a big user.

If you get the format down, you can send your handwritten note directly to you s planner (google calendar)
Also when getting a PDF or document, you can take a screen shot, sign or mark up the document and send back. Very convenient.
You can also do a voice recording for a note, handy when driving.

I have started a channel on youtube for video game related content. Deliberately being a jerk in online gameplay. Example: running up behind someone on Call of Duty and kill them in some humiliating fashion. I play a lot of games in a night, and having my phone nearby to jot down what map, date and what it is I did would help a lot.
I could do the same with a notebook and pen, but come on... S pen. ;-)

Engadget posted a hands-on with it. No calling features. If they work in a note system with automatic two-way syncing similar to HTC's Notes app and Evernote, this could be a pretty cool tab to compliment the Note.

I just wish they would name each product something different. It's just confusing and stupid imho to name this a galaxy note.

when dose this come out i want this!!!!!!
I'm thinking about it and i will be getting this for the same reasons i got the note over the iphone..................android>>>>apple

I'm the developer of pressureNET. There are plenty of reasons you may want the app, but I understand if you don't find them appealing. The project is open source and it exists because I think I can revolutionize weather prediction by collecting data that nobody else is collecting. We have received more than 1,000,000 measurements from thousands of users, currently averaging about 17,000 per day. My plan is to build a live network of atmospheric pressure across the world (wherever there are cities, anyway) of a significantly better density than has ever been attempted.
Currently, I do not predict the weather because I do not have enough data. Therefore, if you are looking for immediate utility from the application and you have a barometer in your phone, the only feature I can offer you is the pressure reading and tendency from your barometer.
The other principle reason you may want to join is that the project is really really awesome. You might want to be a part of it.
I'd love to answer any other questions. Additionally, I'm in this thread because I don't know the answers to the OP's questions. Does the Note vary by carrier in its barometer capabilities? What's it like to run pressureNET on the Note?
pressureNET is built by me (and a friend who builds the graphics/UI) and we have a Xoom and a Galaxy Nexus, but no Note to test on. So discussion of the Note is extremely helpful for us to improve the app.
Thanks everyone,
Jacob
Cumulonimbus
According to PhoneArena, it has one: http://www.phonearena.com/phones/Samsung-GALAXY-Note-LTE_id6779
But it appears the app is only for 3.0 and up, so those on the stock Gingerbread can't test it.
Yes, AT&T Note has a barometer, and it's actually amazingly accurate. I use AndroSensor and Barometer HD to see the sensor data. This project does look really neat, I'd love to see a live "heat-map" of sorts when a storm front hits.

I have an AT&T, i717, Note. I am currently using Android 4.0.3, UCLD3. I was able to install Pressurenet and use my barometer to read and submit my statistics. I was then able to identify my reading on the map in my location, York, Pa, USA.
Great work Cumulo. Feel free to contact me if you need testers or whatever.
I use this on my Xoom. Never thought about trying it on the Note.
can't install from market
Have a GNote on Rogers network in Canada, app does not show up in the market via the Note, but is seen via www on the desktop and is listed as incompatible there. Are there any other sources for the app? I have other barometer apps installed, just cannot get this one via marketplace.

FACT CHECKERS UNIT is a web series. You need to keep up to date on your pop culture. This is not a comercial at all its an episode of FCU and has nothing to do with Samsung at all and is not made by Samsung the stars just get paid to endorse Samsung products on their show just like other tv shows and movies do with other brands. Its kinda like how James Bond will drink beer instead of liquor for the first time in the next James Bond movie, cause Heineken paid him to drink their beer in the movie. This episode came out about a week ago and was watched by millions including myself. Every episode of this season has featured the Galaxy Note in some way. The season started in Jan and the season was called FCU2 GALAXY NOTE. Get your facts straight!

New episodes premiere on MTV.com and HULU but you can watch all the episodes on youtube and thousands of other sites on web. They relesed a statement not too long ago saying there third season would incorperate the Galaxy Tab 10.1 in all episodes.

Thats the default Samsung dialer. You can use video calls without an internet connection or with one. Not sure how it works without a connection but it does. Anyway AT&T has disabled video calls on their devices so we don't have it on our version of the Note. Maybe someone can add it to a rom if they haven't already.
Edit: Here's a video of the video calling

While I like S-Notes, I am really disappointed that it doesn't have on the fly shape to text conversion. I know it does but its two extra steps but then if it is wrong, more buttons to click and if in meetings its not really user friendly enough to keep up. I found this app and its fast laid out really well and it does real time shape to text conversion. Its not cheap, I think it was like $7 bucks but its worth it.
The same people do MyStylus Beta which I used to write this.

I would be careful with this company. For the Note 10.1 (P8000), the program was only available in the Samsung store for that tablet. I obtained the app there.
Meanwhile the app is not available in the Samsung store anymore, my paid license is treated as invalid and if I would like to continue to use my paid software at present time, I would have to buy it again in the Google play store.

I'd blame samsung for having a poor makeshift appstore rather than blaming the company.

A company should never forget the user with a valid paid license. Removing the app from the Samsung app store results in obvious problems for the users. And it was a decision of the company to restrict their app to the Note 10.1 and the Samsung app store.
