I am new here on xda and that is because my xperia u is way to slow and I heart from a friend I can fix that with rooting/flashing..
What can you recommend me as guide to root? And which software would I use on my U?

I'm up for unlocked bootloader Active, pm me if you need me
Now we need MiniPro (LOCKED/UNLOCKED),Active(LOCKED), Mini(LOCKED) and LWW(Locked)

I've my Sony Xperia Sola rooted with firmware 4.0.4 (6.1.1.B.1.10), can I update it, without loosing root, to the new firmware? (6.1.1.B.1.54)

Flash it in flashmode.

Yeah the flash tool works and after that you can unlock your bootloader and root easily

You can't, you may flash a pre-rooted ROM !
By the isn't it easy to root, then why bother.

im using kernel .10 on my sola and im rooted i want to update it to .54 yah its easy to root but i cant update it to .54
