Hi, I'm using HTC Desire X. I'm from India. In my phone internet is very well. But the problem is market(play store) is very very slow. Many times connection times out. I have this problem from the first day I bought this phone. Is any solution for it?

Normally due to household internet connections in our south asian regions.
The dsl wifi at my home sucks during play store use.
The corporate connection at office blazes like fire.
Usually down to latency issues.

if your play store is slow, that means you have a slow internet connetion
No, all other applications and browsers are well performing. Only playstore is very slow.

I am having a strange problem on the Google play market store, whenever I try to Download or update an app on 4G it gives me a message saying "waiting for network" and it just hangs there and does not start the Download process but when I switch back to 3G it starts the download right away which would be fine if my 3g wasn't so dam slow...Can anyone help? I'd really rather not download over 3g, I have tried clearing the cache for the play store app but the problem remains. I am able to do everything(browse the net, stream video, etc) on 4g except download apps from the store...wtf?

A quick search on Google on this issue lead me to the topic below, seems like I'm not the only one experiencing this issue...is anyone on here having trouble downloading apps from the store over 4G on their EVO 3D?

I am. I thought it was from flashing ZR3DX. It stopped working right after flashing it.
Hmm interesting, mine stopped working out of the blue as well...I have been using mean Rom 3.92 for over 4 months and it was working fine until recently. Have you found any work around? Could it be something wrong with the Google play store and not our phones?
Sent from my PG86100 using xda app-developers app
Not our Rom or our phone. Some one over at the HTC EVO shift forums have the same issue. I say its the update. So what we need to do is downgrade the play store and break the damn auto update..... Any thoughts on how? :c
Sent from my PG86100 using xda app-developers app
I'm trying to downgrade using a cracked Play Store. You should try too,
http://www.2shared.com/file/1_ZkGQ4N/Vending.html
Delete the original Vending.Apk and replace with that one, reboot and report back to here.

Nope... It's a server issue :C

I saw a Sprint Users.com forum where all sorts of Wimax phones are having the issue currently (OG Evo, EG4T, etc). Mine's been having problems since last night. I just disabled 4G and it immediately started downloading. Unfortunately 3G is horribly horribly slow in Raleigh, NC these days. Might as well be using the Edge network. Ugh.
researching varisous forums...multiple handset manufacturers, and multiple carriers. Google has been blaming Sprint, but I also see similar posts on Virgin Mobile and (at least one mention of...) Verizon.

For me it works fine on 3g and wifi, but 4g is broken. "WAITING FOR NETWORK" is all it says. Been on the same Rom for the last 4 months. So Yea this is definitely not the phones.
update: I uninstalled all updates for the google play app and it downloaded perfectly. Now I honestly can't see how this isn't anything other than a bad update from google.
update: however this only works once per app since the market updates and then when the next app starts Bam! Waiting for network.

I started having the same issue today.
This issue is still happening to me and has been for over a week now with no solution in sight
Sent from my PG86100 using xda app-developers app
Guys try uninstalling the updates as one of you mentioned but also go into system/app and delete MarketUpdater.apk. Copy it to your sdcard somewhere first. And after deleting reboot.
I don't have 4g and never used it but if your looking to use a version of Play Store that won't update that's the way to do it.

You can post on the Sprint forum, either start your own thread or post in an existing one:

They say no one from Sprint actually reads or cares about their user forums.
But at very least it gets the message out that there is a real problem.
Ok, I've searched and havent found someone with an issue exactly like mine (theirs drops but reconnects, mine doesn't reconnect). You'll understand that later.
I am NOT rooted, and under WiFi the persistant WiFi while sleeping IS enabled. So if I leave my X+ sleeping for a half hour or more, the WiFi seems to go to sleep. But the icon is still visible with my strength. I go and try to use the WiFi, and it tries and tries until the app I am trying to use throws a timeout error. If I toggle WiFi off and back on, everything's fine. Is there a fix for this? Like I said, I am NOT rooted and am on software version 1.15.502.9. Any help is appreciated

Is this happening in one location or multiple. If it's only one location it could the location that's the problem. I had a similar issue on my old router. When I replaced the router, I had no more problems.
It happens throughout my house, not just my room :/

By multiple locations, I meant different wifi networks. Go somewhere else that has wifi (local library, coffee shop) and see if the problem still exists. If not, then it's definitely your home network.
Hahahaha!!
I had the same problem until I switched my modem from auto 802.1b/g/n to 802.1g ONLY.
Since then, it never dropped. I was having this issue on my S3 and iPhone 5 too so it's not only an HTC issue

haha sorry i currently own two phones (just bought the HOX+ last week) and use whichever is closest to me
so i am planning on rooting and flashing a good rom either tonight or tomorrow, do you think that would solve it? i don't see others with the same issue, so maybe its hardware...? :/
Hi All,
My Landline broadband is rubbish because I live in the middle of nowhere. However, I get FULL mobile signal on my carrier (3UK)! So I use my Htc Sensation (HSDPA up to 14mbps) with the one plan (tether friendly) for my main broadband and I get around 10mbps.
I'd like to get a phone JUST for it's modem, preferably one of the 21mbps or the 42mbps ones. I'm having some trouble finding answers through web searches so I though I would ask the community. Does anyone know of a cheap phone with the best modem?
Many thanks in advance,
Deanodirector

I've seen this when using an iffy internet connection. The screen shot shows you on the EDGE network, so I'd imagine that's the issue. Connect to a solid wifi network and see if that fixes the problem.

Ah! So you are... so you are. Then you, like me, may be looking for a new internet provider soon. Or perhaps the wifi you're on is having issues.
During my testing so far, I have only seen this on my (somewhat shoddy) wifi connection, and not on the much better LTE connection. That said, it also could be the HTC server is experiencing difficulties.
Assuming the issue is intermittent, it is almost certainly a problem with the network or the service, not your phone, and there's nothing much you can do about it on the phone itself.

Ever since updating to 4.3/Sense 5 (Cap's ROM) the Play Store has been incredibly slow downloading over mobile. Wifi seems normal as does mobile speed for other data. Anybody else seeing this?

Running Cap's 4.3 as well and haven't had that problem fyi. I do have extremely slow areas of "4g" in general. I think its just Sprint's poor network.
It must have been a network thing. Working better tonight for sure.
