Charge for replacement phone? - Verizon HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE

Quick question for you guys. I recently got a replacement Inc 4g for one that had a bad Bluetooth radio. Now I notice on my latest bill that I was charged 13 dollars for overnight shipping to send the new phone out to me. Is this a standard practice? I feel like I shouldn't have to pay the shipping fee but I wanted to see if other people dealt with this issue yet.

They are supposed to give you the option of overnight for $13 or slower shipping for free. It shouldn't be too hard to argue the fee off your bill if you claim that you were never offered the non-overnight shipping option.

they will give you anything if you keep bugging them.... i complained that my Thunderbolt was having issues (a few weeks after warranty). They offered me a new thunderbolt... i complained, and they gave me the DINC 4g with an extended battery. for free overnight shipping. (without renewing my contract)
just call them and dispute

this is how I got my dinc 4g as well. bad stratosphere. they also had no stock batteries so gave em an extended battery.

Thanks all. I am pretty sure I can dispute it. Haven't had time to call yet. And no I was never offered shipping options, the tech simply said a new phone was being sent to me overnight and I said ok. Had I known I woulda been charged for it I woulda declined.

whenever I got overnight shipping it was free. I'd fight that

I did. They gave me a credit to my account but not before the Verizon support lady gave me a lot of attitude. Like it was a hassle for her to do her job.

People that bought their Evo3D from Wirefly

for those that ordered from wirefly in the past, have you ever changed/cancelled service within the 6 month time period? I bought my evo 3d from them at the release date and was thinking of leaving sprint without paying the ETF(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1226343), but not sure if and how Wirefly will charge me.
94 views and not one response?? Am I the only one in this situation?
From what I unferstand you don't need to pat them anything only sprint ETF
Sent from my PG86100 using Tapatalk
I did once about two years ago. In addition to the ETF, wirefly informed me I owed their company money. I dont remember how much, $200 I think. They called me a few times about it and I never paid it. That was the last I heard of it, they never turned it in, so it didnt affect my credit.

[Q] return amazon wirless rezound

I just got my rezound from Amazon wireless. I love the phone however I.have the light leakage and its already overheating. Do I.need to send it into Amazon or can I return it at a local Verizon store? I I've read both circumstances happening. Just wondering if anyone else has done either yet. Also if u send it in can u get a loner? This is my first Verizon phone. Thanks
I think you have to use amazon for the first 30 days then you can use verizon. It may be worth it to put up with it until verizon can help you.

Any way to confirm this. I suppose I can call tomorrow.I'm.stuck in class right now. If that's the case ill def wait the 30 days
I got both a Rezound and RAZR from Amazon. The Rezound is great, but I had some serious issues with the RAZR overheating and searching for signal. Called Amazon, they shipped me a brand new phone. Swapped SIMs, mailed the old phone back. Problem solved, and it didn't cost me a dime. Think shipping was 2nd day air.
EDIT: I also tried VZW first, because it would have been quicker, but they directed me to Amazon.
So they send one first... Have the replacement phones been without flaw or is it the same gamble. Might be better to wait the 30 days and use Verizon so I can check it...

The only reason I suggested waiting and using Verizon is that Amazon was backordered last time I checked.
Send back to Amazon. I just went through this and don't be afraid by the 2-5 week wait. They told. Me that and got an email a few days later it was being shipped.

Amazon is excellent for returns/exchanges hands down. I assume it will be the same process you request an exchange and they ship it out to you. They generally gave me overnight shipping for free (even on a saturday) to get me non-defective item. Then you just ship it back to them within a resonable time frame with the included label and you should be good to go.
You guys do realize Amazon will send you a brand new phone and if you wait 30 days Verizon cannot swap in store and will send you a refurbished phone thru the mail.

Verizon has a 14 day policy normally, but now if you purchased the phone after 11-15 you have until Jan.
Wouldn't the phone have a warranty through htc as well? Sounds like ill be contacting Amazon tomorrow though. Thanks a lot guys. Hopefully that one doesn't have the light leak. Lol watch me have a new problem. Is rather have the leak than pink buttons and all the other problems I hear about...

I'd be willing to bet that it was a CSA who probably doesn't understand what light leakage is. Between my 3 rezounds and everyone I have looked at in the stores you can see the LEDs through the bottom of the screen when the soft keys light up which is what is causing the bleeding. There is no way to fix it except by turning off the LEDs or by lowering their intensity to improve on the light leak.

Went into verizon and they won't take the phone tho it sounds like I may as well deal with it. They really pissed me off though. I wanted to put on my work discount. Supposed to be 22% line 20% data. I called and reviewed online before I got verizon and the rep told me I would get the discounts. The store wouldn't discount my data because he claimed I need to have a 5gb data and hotspot plan. I was never told this and most likely wouldn't have canceled at&t during the penny sale. Anyone think I could complain enough to get this changed? Can't seem to find a phone number for them to save my life lol

Verizon Switched Me From the Charge to the Rezound!

After a month of nagging I finally got bumped up to the rezound for free. Well sort of, I was forced to pay $50 for the battery and battery cover plus next day shipping, but hey I'm not complaining!
So this is my first htc device and I was wondering what I can expect. I know bootloaders are locked unlike samsung devices, but that's pretty much it. If anybody could fill me in on some general knowledge I'd be forever grateful!
haha paid for battery/cover huh? that means they sent you a refurb, most likely i assume?
I am actually getting a Rezound shipped to me as well for a Charge replacement as well. My total came to like $30 with my discount for the battery and cover.
Yea these are basically refurb's or Certified Like New as they like to call them. So I should have mine early next week because I didn't pay for overnight shipping.

Yeah, I'm getting a refurb which means no iBeats, but whatever. I'd end up loosing them in a week anyways.
They exchanged my buddies 3 month old Bionic for free for a brand new Rezound w/ accessories. Seems like they have found a way to make their money off people.

I don't think they really do it to make money because the woman I spoke with gave me the option to buy the battery/cover from somewhere like Amazon if I wanted.
Sent from my SCH-I510 using XDA App
If they give you a new device they lose money. Sending you a refurb with no battery/cover means they aren't losing anything, especially since you paid for your original device. The rep doesn't make commission selling you accessories so she had nothing to lose advising you about buying elsewhere. The point is, so many people have been trying to trade in their devices they have figured out a way to not take the hit from it.
I would try my hardest to get those iBeats. If you are getting the phone you should get all the accessories with it. This is not replacing a Rezound, which wouldn't ship the accessories.
Haha sucks to be you I got mine with everything free.

Not everybody was fortunate enough to talk to the angel of all tier 2 techs. And it was $30 for the back and battery. I paid the extra $20 to get overnight for those two. I wasn't going to be staring at a paperweight rezound for a week until I got the battery.
When i had an upgrade from citrus to the samsung continuum, they sent the phone free and i went to the vzn store and told em they didnt give me a back or battery, so it was all free

Hopefully. I'll find out tomorrow!
I received mine yesterday and it was just the phone (with a back cover though) in the box. So I was a little disappointed, I was hoping I would get a "kit" like I did when I got my Charge as a replacement for my old Fascinate which came with everything including the retail box.
So I called and tried to see if there was a way I could get the kit and I was basically told that it all depends on what the manager that originally approved it agreed to (plus she said that she doesn't even think that there were any kits available from HTC). So what she did to offset the cost I paid for the battery and cover was to give me a $9.99 credit for each of my lines (2 lines) for 2 months. So basically I made money off of this since I only paid $32 with tax for the cover and battery and will be getting $40 in credits.
So I guess it is better than nothing, but I was hoping to get the iBeats headphones to try out.

[Q] Order from Amazon

The Rezound is currently on sale over at Amazon for $150........I'm up for an upgrade. Are there any drawbacks to buying from here? The options can get confusing when trying to order........
Nope, I've done it twice without any issues. Haven't lost my unlimited plan yet.
Sent from my DROID3 using XDA App
You have the standard 14 days to return it for a refund without being locked in for another two years. Even though Amazon will refund your purchase within 30 days, after 14 you will still be locked in a contract with Verizon and ineligible for discounted pricing. The only reason this would be a problem is due to the time lost in shipping.
I had to return two rezounds to them and the third came in only one day before the point of no return contract wise. If the third one had been bad I would have wanted a refund and out of the contract extension.
Other than that, ordering from Amazon was great. They replaced my first rezound over a single dead pixel. They replaced the replacement over a loose piece of plastic around the USB port. The replacements all came with free overnight shipping and according to Amazon they do not carry refurbs so all of their replacement phones are new. This is much better than a Verizon store where you will get a refurb if you have a problem.
At 150 I think you should go for it. I ordered mine at 220 and used the difference to get a multimedia dock, hdmi adaptor, and car dock.
With wirefly you can't switch the phone on the line you are activating for 6 months so for example: if you use your primary line then you can't change the phone on that line for 6 months. I don't know whether amazon does that. This, shouldn't be an issue if you plan on using the phone on that line for longer then 6 months.

I don't think they can tell if you switch lines. As far as I know, as long as the line is open for 6 months, you are good. Now, cancelling data on that line might raise a red flag, because I think that is what they earn the commision on.
I have had no problems with the 4 phones I have ordered from amazon. Great amazon CS, and fast shipping.

I am a RSA in a T-mobile Corp Store. From T-Mobiles return/exchange policy there is a $50 fee for return/exchange for most smartphones. Some of the smartphones have a $75 fee like the Note 2 and the Iphone 5. The Manger has to override the restocking fee and most mangers will not override it unless you can show us the problem in the store. There is no known issue right now about reboots in our internal system. I am not saying that it isn't a issue but I have yet to see any HTC One reboot that I have sold. Most of the time if you want to exchange the phone for the same model the fee is removed. If you want to change to a different phone or just do a full return the fee is almost always charged unless we see the problem.

T-Mobile also replaces your phone for one year (refurbished), or if you have the insurance bundle they will always replace it. They send it next day air, then you return the defective phone. It's $5 if you have insurance or $25 if you don't.

Its what we have been told when we tell customers. Its pretty much just like the new PHP costs. If you get PHP for your phone and the full bundle is $11.99 your phone most likely has a $75 restocking fee. I am sure it is because of the cost of the phone. The Note 2 is a $700 phone where the GS3 is a $500 phone. I know the HTC One for PHP is $11.99. We were told to put the $75 restocking fee sticker on the phone for customers to know. Also if you look your re receipt it talks about it there as well. I think T-Mobile calls the $75 ones super phones where the $50 ones are called smartphones.
