I am wondering if the latest nightly build of the Cyanogen mod will work on my Samsung Galaxy SII GT-I9100.
Android version: 4.0.3
Baseband Version: I9100XXLPX
Kernel Version: [email protected] #6
I want to be 100% sure that it will work before I do it, any help or tips for me to do will be greatly appreciated, thanks.

you dont need to downgrade, but to upgrade to an ICS stock version, your kernel is for GB and ICS kernel is needed, flash right fastbootfile for ics and your region

Development of kernels for gingerbread has stopped. The only kernel i know you can flash now is CF-ROOT kernel but i don't think that will be an upgrade for you

If you really want to try something new i would recommend upgrading to ICS or jelly bean. The custom roms are amazing and you will be very impressed. But it's up to you. You seem pretty happy with what you have now...

I would recommend a ICS or a JB ROM too. Especially the JB Roms are working pretty good. I was impressed myself.
And the Battery is also much better with JB Roms than with ICS. Then you have a variety of new Kernels to try out.
And if you are Newb or noob don't flash 4.0.4 pls

Before installing custom ROM, your phone must be rooted
Due to the brick bug on my device shown by eMMC app, is it safe to flash an CM10 nightly rom onto it through clockworkmod. I first flashed a siya v5.0.1 kernel on my s2 using odin, ran smoothly, then applied the helly bean custom Rom and everything is running smoothly. But my kernel has changed and the eMMC app is still saying that I have a insane chip.
Details:
i9100
android version: 4.1.2
Baseband: I9100XXLQ6
Kernel: 3.0.15-CM-g39df795 [email protected] #1 Thu Nov 15 16:37:09 CET 2012
CyanogenMod Version: helly_bean_i9100
Build Number: cm_i9100-userdebug 4.1.2 JZO54K eng.dominik 20121115.152944 test-keys
I am still a beginner and really worried that if i don't have the right mod or kernel I will brick my s2...
Any advice,
Thanks!
Yes. Unless you're running an affected kernel & plan on doing a wipe, forget about the brick bug. It's been done to death/blown out of all proportion. No need to worry about it if you're careful/do your research.

It is safe if You use safe kernel, latest releases are safe but always do you reading b4 flashing anything. See changelog and relase info of a kernel developer. Usually it is written there if the kernel is brick bug safe.
