Screen stuck sideways - Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0, 5.0

Has anyone had a problem with their SGP screen getting stuck sideways? If so, how'd you fix it? The problem just happened out of nowhere and reinstalling the ROM (ICS Crumble) did nothing (neither did wiping data and cache). When the problem is "fixed," and I restart the SGP, the screen gets stuck sideways.
Edit: Odin/computer doesn't notice the GP, and for some reason, the home alarm clock pops up when I reset the Galaxy.

[Q] New update oddly bricks acer iconia

I tried to install the latest update for my acer tablet. My tablet is unrooted and it was doing fine with the android icon with spinning gears and a progress bar. Though it froze and stayed froze...i had no choice but to reset. Once I did though the system would come back up to the slide your finger to unlock screen, my same background was working but a vibrate would happen (before touching) and after that touching the screen wouldn't do anything or react so couldn't slide to unlock. After this, I tried the plus volume button + power+ moving the orientation switch on and off. This got my old background to go away so something happened but it never reset on its own as it was saying: clearing user data and clearing cache. After that i shut it off again and rebooted using the minus volume. It said it was going to revert back to some file. The friendly android robot with spinning gears occurred then shortly after the progress bar came up that friendly android was replaced with an android icon with a big yellow warning sign in it (exclamation point) as far as i can tell nothing happens afterwards. After a few more reboots and + trick i can get the system to boot (no drag finger to unlock) but the minute it gets to the home screen the "shutting down" dialog shows up with the "powering off" message. It never goes away, tablet never shuts down. This happened REPEATEDLY. I did contact acer tech support; and since the first time it didnt reboot on its own after clearing user data and user cache he said its a hardware defect and to return it. I do hesitate to believe that cause I have babied this thing. I wonder if its an odd software error?
Now if i just let the tablet boot up it will come to that home screen with that shutting down dialog. And sometimes i swear a message box pops u behind it I cannot click on it (i swear the dialog that pops up behind the powering off dialog is something about the apk installer). I cannot get to the privacy ->restore to factory defaults...cause everytime i make it to the settings screen and click okay or something the home screen comes back and everything else go s away...so can never click on anything in the settings without it fading away. Which means I cannot click privacy -> restore factory defaults. So now my acer just boots up and says shutting down right away and does nothing else. Its clear of the apps i had on it, but st still not coming up. Am I missing some other step to the process or is the acer device really going to be needed to send out? I think i did everything right but wondering if anyone else had the boot up and then see the shutting down/powering off dialog the whole time... it should be noted that it never actually does shut down.
Any ideas or help id love it!
I don't own a tablet, but here is a thread that you can check out. Hopefully it will help you out. Good luck!

Screen problem after updated to I9300XXDLIB via OTA

I have an issue after the update. On random moments the screen rotates by itself despite the phone being in portrait position it rotates to landscape for a second and returns to portrait. It's irritating. Anyone has the same problem?
If this happens when an app supports landscape it stays on landscape, when not - like home screen it just kind of flickers to landscape and back.
I tried turning auto-rotate off - does not help. I calibrated the sensor - does not help. Scanned for viruses - none found.
First flash any previous fw and check if problem persists.
Sent from an electronic device.
I'll wait with flashing back and forth until someone may know what is the deal with this.
Dzięki
Did a factory reset. It helped. Screen flickers no more.
I have the exact same problem! Auto-rotate is off and running in portrait mode.
It started about two weeks ago, but I ignored it because I thought flashing a new rom would fix it. It didn't.
Before I was running Xliterom (ICS) but yesterday I flashed Vanilla Rootbox (JB).. the problem was still there, and I obviously wiped data/cache/dalvik etc. So then I decided to try Foxhound and the problem is still there. Can anybody help me figure this out? Hardware problem..? Could it be some app causing this?
It just happens at random times, in random apps. Even at homescreen sometimes.

Install a new screen.

After installing just a new glass screen my phone has been acting weird. Every once in a while it will freeze up and do nothing, the notifications still running like battery animation and signal but the screen won't respond. I can hit the home button to return to my home screen and after a few seconds it starts responding to my input again. Just wondering if anybody else has experienced something like this. I have switched roms, wiped all kinda ways and factory reset but it still happens from time to time. I might have screwed something up while changing the screen. Any kind of help would be appreciated, thank you.

ZTE N939st v5 Pro Issue

Hello everyone.
So today, after I plugged my phone to charge, I noticed something weird happening.. The home screen was no longer there, but instead, there was a colourful space image that kept on blinking in a breathing animation.
What is even weirder is that I can take a screen shot of it, "lock the screen", and I can get to the power menu normally to shutdown or reboot my phone, but I can not use the volume buttons.
I can also connect my phone to the computer, but the file explorer would show up empty. I tried erasing cache and rebooting it, and it started loading apps, but went back to the same loop all over again. I dont really know what to do at this point since I do not have the phone rooted and can not afford to wipe it off. Any help would be appreciated.

Nexus 9 : screen turning half-black

Hello,
For 4 days, the screen of my Nexus 9 is turning half-black. The right half of the screen (when in portrait mode) is off. The touch system is working though, when touching in the black area
I did several operations to try to fix that : wipe cache partition, reset to factory settings, and I even downgraded from Nougat to Marshmallow. The screen is sometimes getting back to normal, but not for long time, the half-black side is still coming back...
Did someone already have this problem and know how to fix that?
Thanks

Sounds like you need to replace the screen. There are videos on YouTube.
