My phone was bought new with 4.0.4 ics (I9100BVLPE) rom version and it seems to be pretty laggy for a dual core proccesor. Last year i was the owner of an I9000 and it seems to be faster. Can any1 recommand me a better stock rom?

How many apps have you installed?
Just so we're clear, you know about 4.0.4 & brick bug, right? if not, here's some reading material.
If you want a stock rom you can either go 4.0.3 unbranded (look for) or jb leak.
And ain't nothing faster than I9100

"pretty laggy for a dual core proccesor"?
Just your device maybe....
its not the cores... its the CPU,
S2's Exynos 4210 is pretty much equal or abit less than Tegra 3.
Tegra 3 is quad core...
So your problem, is software related...

Good thing we ruled that out then. Tried got brickbug app from play store?
Now please, before flashing, do a little bit of reading. We really don't wanna see you posting that you're bricked.

I installed the brickbug app and at Brick bug it appears "No. Sane chip" so can i flash the new stock or i'm exposed to brick my phone?

4010 exynos is nothing compared to the 4012 quad. Play GoldenEye for n64 on your s II - rude awakening to that reality. I've owned both.

For ROMs:

Gastonw, sorry because im asking again but the open europe roms are an unbranded rom right ? and i found a rom from samfirmware in open europe-Poland, the version is 4.0.3. It is good ?

Lol, I dunno about that ROM, didn't you check the links I posted?
And yes, 4.0.3 & 4.0.4 are good (because you have a Sane chip, if it was faulty 4.0.4 would be out of the question).

oke. I will try to flash it. One more question : should i wipe the phone ? How about the warranty?

err......flashing voids warranty.
Why don't you just read a little bit more about all this flashing thing before you actually flash?
Are you even rooted? that would be a good start for you.

omg. I heard that flashing a stock rom from samsung will not void the warranty.
I read a lot but there are different points of view and becausd of that i asked here.
p.s: my phone isn't rooted. it's like new

Here's the thing,
You can do whatever you want with your device, Warranty says "don't do anything or I won't cover it".
You say "F you" and start flashing.
Something up, something funny, odd with your device. You flash a stock ROM, all clean, no root no nothing and say "here, fix it, haven't even touched it".
Here's the catch:
Branded & Unbranded.
If you are on a carrier contract, you should download the carrier ROM, let say...just in case something actually happens.
If you bought it unlocked and unbranded, it's all samsung. Download any stock, unbranded ROM and you are good to go.
Warranty is voided only if warranty can PROVE you voided it. If not, it's on them.

just curious, why stay ICS?

Get trebuchet launcher and you're a little closer to AOSP. Stuck with the same crap contacts/phone, that is one thing I miss coming from an HTC with tons of development. There's a good AOSP lock screen by hot wire in development I believe also. Mine is almost looking like CM9. [ROM][4.0.4] Slim ICS (SGS2) - Clean, Simple & Fast (57MB)-i777-*AWESOME*

Be sure to also flash the Slim Common zip for the file, which you can download here:

It doesn't matter. Chip is hardware not software, right?
You can reset the chip by
Power off the device
Charge it until it get fully charged
Then take off the battery for 2 minutes
The put the battery in the phone and power on the device now the chip is resets
You can install CPU spy fr play store to check the cpu deep sleep
This proplem occure when there is heavy use and power off the phone immediately after it you will see your battery indicator falls from 80 to 27 or more or less
But with normal use it will not occure
If you think that I helped press the THANKS button

Right, but it seems strange that this happened without flash custom ROM. Anyway the reset is a good idea, but it always better update fw and flash better kernel: Siyah!
do a battery callibration
if u still face that prob then reset ur fuel gauge using siyah or fluxi kernel
Thanks for the help/ tips as regards flashing kernel & rooting my wife is not interested, she Dont want me touching her pride and joy.

O so thats really nice just one thing my phone came unlocked (unbranded) and nowhere in or on the box i could find a carrier or something else but what found wierd when i set up my phone was on default on german language and there were some bloatware apps installed by the phone itself like bild or something for calling a taxi but i could uninstall them so my question does this mean my phone has to do something with a carrier?Or is it just me and one more thing on the phone when i go software update i get a message "Acces to the software update service is provided to users in the order in wich they request it.Try later" but on kies it says iwe got a new update

So i updated my phone and now my baseband is I9300XXDLID (can anyone tell me how to find for wich market is my device) the Android version is 4.1.1 what i noticed is a lot snapier over-all experience ram went from 780mb to 833mb i have google now there are little estetic changes like the icons on the lock screen are a little bit smaller and there are other things that are more a performace upgrade but the best thing i like about the jelly bean update is that the phone feels blazing fast, ultra snappy etc and i like the new notification center

Actually it was first posted as sgh-i771 lol
The only way I was able to determine what this was, was by noticing 4.3 gapps recommended.
With the release and development of 2 new 4.4 Roms, maybe the OP could put in the title that this is a 4.3 ROM?
Was just thinking, not everybody reads thoroughly, everything. Might eliminate people repeatidly posting with this super basic problem?
That's all. I know I was questioning. I initially got excited thinking, "another 4.4 rom !!!" I almost had to go have some more alone time.

Does Jamie (or anyone else) still build slim for the note?? Is a current project?
ROM is super fast. Only problem I have is the camera. Even though my SD card is mounted I still can't take pictures.

ROM is indeed very smooth. However phone SIP call does not work (connected but no sound). Sometimes the phone takes several seconds to wake up.
