I have my vzw galaxy note 2 thats rooted. Odin way. And i want to put the lightsaber sounds for the s pen. But it wont connect to my Windows 7 Desktop. And i have searched every where for a "Driver" and also tried different usb hubs and also wires. Different computers even the on the laptop i rooted it with and nothing.

try different USB cable
I think you said you did this but make sure usb debugging is enabled. Go to settings, click applications and then click development and make sure usb debugging is checked. You have done everything I would recommend doing. I used to have the same exact issue. My phone would charge but I could not connect to the computer, my friends vibrant connected fine though (weird). What fixed it for me was a new usb cable from the tmobile store, it costs around $15. They have a 30 day return policy, if it doesn't work you can just take it back. I was really close to replacing my usb port on my phone but I figured I would try a cable from tmobile first and it worked thankfully. If a new cable doesn't fix it then you may have to replace your usb port unfortunately. I recommend www.mobiletechvideos.com if you end up having to replace your usb port, good luck.

I also have multiple usb cables but the only one that works is the cable from the tmobile store. All four of my other cables work fine on my friends vibrant too. Like I said in the post above yours, you can always take it back if it doesn't work either. If that's the case then you could try cleaning your phone's usb port with a Qtip and some isopropyl alcohol.

What ROMs did you try flashing?
Does your pc recognizes your mobile connected when in recovery... you have tried almost all possibilities so i have no idea... You can try flashing stock rom and then format(factory reset) whole device...

It's called JFD. If your phone is detected in download mode then you can use this software to return to stock - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=954509
Phone USB port
I have taken almost every possible route. I have taken apart a broke down SGH T950, I have removed the usb port off it. Time to do a swap out.... Wish me luck

[Q] USB connection to Macbook not working

Hi All,
So i bought a brand new galaxy s3 and have downloaded Android File Transfer and was able to copy/paste some of my music files from my Macbook to my GS3. Everytime i connected the usb cable to my laptop, id see the USB logo on the top left corner of my phone.
Today i tried to transfer some stuff, plugged in my phone to my laptop using the same USB cable that came with the phone. My phone starts charging up fine, but no USB logo on top left on my device and Android File Transfer wont recognize my device.
Any advice??
thanks in advance!

I hate when i spend hours trying to fix something then i find out its something simple like the cable. so always check the simple stuff first. I have found good cables at cableforge.com with lifetime warranty. so if i ever have one go bad they ship me another. plus use this coupon code for 80% off. G5WJXH4F22MN
I had a mate with this problem with his S2.He tried everything from reinstalling keis to full wipe installing the rom to stock rom and nothing. In the end he solved it by plugging his old i9000 into his PC and when it said it was recognized he unplugged it and plugged in his S2 and it recognized his S2....simple but true.
Try plugging in another S3 or better still an S2 or S1 so the PC recognizes the drivers and then plug in your S3.It may work like it did for my mate.
Use stock ⣔ cable came with your phone
shouldn't need kies. Obviously if nothing else is working give it a shot but I've never had to use kies for anything.

Have you installed the device drivers for your phone? If you haven't I would recommend downloading the device drivers for your phone from here. If you have already installed the device drivers for your phone I would recommend uninstalling then reinstalling the device drivers for your phone. Also, is the usb cable a decent quality cable and are you able to connect other devices to your computer (And Windows recognizes them) using this cable?
Thank you for your feedback and yes ive been through the motions of uninstalling amd reinstalling the drivers multiple times. The cable im using is for an LG smartphone and its in mint condition . It alsocworks with other devices except mine. My samsung would have a usb icon pop up on the phone whenever a connection is made but now it just charges.

You could also try using a different usb cable and also make sure your plugging your phone into a USB 2.0 port as sometimes USB 3.0 ports can be problematic. Another thing you could try that very likely won't make a difference but you could try is going into developer settings and making sure USB debugging is enabled.
Ive tried every usb port on my laptop and i tried the usb debugging feature but nothing seems to be working. I will get a new usb cable specifically for my phone to see if it makes a difference because im running out of options.

Samsung galaxy nexus isn't recognized by win 7

I upgraded to Windows 7 on an older laptop. I plug my phone in and it doesn't recognize anything. I thought win 7 would pickup the driver automatically but I guess not. I tried rebooting the laptop and phone
do I need a driver? Android adb or sdk is it?

Just USB Debugging needs to be checked, make sure your plugging your phone into a USB 2.0 port as USB 3.0 can give you problems. Also if you have a different computer try that as well.

I installed the driver for schi515. When I rebooted my phone I heard the sound it makes when it's connecting and disconnecting. It started auto installing a driver for OMA0444 I think it was, then the download failed. I don't know where that came from or what it is? I recently added a new hard drive and Win7
Under device manager, "other device" toggles between showing OMAP, and not even showing "other devices"
Not working on my pc either. Usb port needs replacing. Previously I was able to transfer files to my pc, but it looks like that ability has been lost.
Will replacing my Usb port erase my phone?

One more thing I would recommend taking a look at is this thread as the person manged to find a solution similar to the problem you are having. As far as replacing your USB port, replacing it will not (Should not whenever your modify any electronics risk of data loss is always a possibility) erase your phone.

What size screwdriver are you looking for? As the Torx screws on phones can vary greatly sometime, which size torx screw driver do you need?
That's my question. What size do I need? I need to remove the back so I can replace the USB port.

Is it possible for you to post a picture of the screws, I might be able to identify which screws they are from a picture.

Just took at look at the Samsung Galaxy Nexus Teardown guide on iFixit and yes it is a small Philips head screwdriver that is listed for the screws. When doing the teardown I would recommend taking a look at there guide that I linked to.
