[Q] Prevent screen from turning on when unplugging power cable - Verizon HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE

The thing I find most irritating about my phone is that the screen turns on every time I unplug it from a power source. Instead of being able to unplug it and slip it in my pocket I have to unplug it, wait a second for the screen to turn on, then press the power button to turn it back off before I can slip it in my pocket. It's a small thing, but it drives me nuts.
I found this thread from about a year ago on this exact topic. It seems like the file frameworks/base/core/res/res/values/config.xml needs to be modified to set the config_unplugTurnsOnScreen value to false:
Code:
<!-- If this is true, the screen will come on when you unplug usb/power/whatever. -->
<bool name="config_unplugTurnsOnScreen">false</bool>
Since this is compiled into resource.asrc it can't simply be edited. Is there any way I can get this fix on my phone? Is it baked into any of the ROMs that are currently available?
EDIT: This is an option in settings as of CyanogenMod 10.2. It's found in Settings > Display & lights > Wake on plug.

[Q] Sleep of Death or Brick?

I have a problem with my Galaxy Tab 10.1, yet can't seem to figure out where to start troubleshooting.
Having the Tab since it was released, until now, I had yet to experience any problems whatsoever. But upon turning (or trying) to turn my Tab on, all that welcomed me was a black screen. I know the various button combinations, screen rub trick, and holding the power button long enough to help boot the Tab up but none of this worked. I thought maybe my battery was dead (even though I has seen it at about 60% before the problem) and decided to plug it in.
Once plugged in, the battery charging indicator came on and looked like it was about to show the battery filling up. Instead, the screen turned off immediately one second later and then popped up again with the battery icon. It would then just go on and off. Holding the power button would result in the "Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1" welcome screen, but this would transition back to the battery icon, and turn off as usual.
I was able to access the two icons (box with an arrow and android; and android with download underneath) by holding power and vol. down. Clicking on the first icon with the box would just turn off the Tab and restart the battery icon. But clicking on the android that has the word download underneath takes me to a screen that I don't know what to do with.
This all happens while plugged in to the charger, and goes away immediately (turns off) if I take out the cord. I have tried to use the NVflash method but am basically stumbling in the dark because my computer doesn't recognize the Tab when I plug it in. It does say installing device when plugged in, but I cannot find it under devices.
Any help would greatly be appreciated!
P.S. My Tab (32 GB) has an unlocked bootloader, but the unlocked sign does not show up when I plug it in and and the Samsung welcome screen breifly pops up.
I am not a developer, so ultimately someone else will help you more than I, however the fact that you can get to ODIN means you will be able to save your tablet. There are some posts in the development section about using ODIN (that’s where you go after selecting the icon on the right), but you will be able to flash everything you need to in order to get back on your feet from within ODIN.

[Q] Need help for my SGS3 (latest cyanogenmod on it)

Hello everyone,
I'm a newbie at rooting.
I have used CM for 3 months but for a week it got a little strange.
Scenario 1) When I push the power button to get to lock screen, the soft buttons' light turn on for a moment but no change happens on screen. I push power button again, the same result. No other respone from my mobile. If I push power button for 10 sec to reset, i see a little green or purple light beam from the bottom right. After a while, it disappears. And still no response. I remove the battery as a last resort and put it back, when I push the power button, it's the same. Little colorful light beams...
Scenario 2) A short time ago, while I was playing a game on it, the screen just turned off and I pushed the power button... as you guess, the story goes on the same way.
It's now off, I couldn't get to it in any way.
What can I do to solve and how?
You guess it's urgent.
Sorry for my poor English, thanks in advance.
Can you restart the phone in download mode, or recovery mode?
I just figured out something:
The phone turned on and I disabled developer settings. After this, when the screen is locked and off and I push the power button, I see nothing on the screen (maybe a little purple or green beam at the right bottom) but the soft buttons turn on. I slide right to unlock without seeing anything, I pass the lock screen and it's now open. (when I touch the screen, the soft buttons turn on again and again as it should be) I just scroll the main pages right and left, push the volume or main button, they work. (it beeps when the sound is max) after 30 - 40 seconds... yay! The screen is on! It's totally the same all the time. It needs time to turn on?
Is it a software problem or is my screen about to break down?
Thanks again!!
it's a software problem. You can either factory reset, run the trim command if you're running android 4.3, or change to a different ROM.

[Q] Problems to turn on my tab.

I have several issues with my gt-p7510, ics 4.04.
The first is, there are some files i just can't delete. Not system files, some created by me and others downloaded. I've tried some file managers without success; there's no error msg, they just remain there.
The second is i have difficulties to turn on the device: i have to press the power button + volume down for like 30 seconds whenever i want to turn it on; besides, the device wont charge battery if i turn it off first. To make it charge i must connect it while is on and after that turn it off, that's the only way to get the battery charging animation while is off.
Is similar to the classic "my tab wont turn on" and "dont charge" but, i have to do the trick every time i turn it off. An i dont have battery issues, isnt rooted, has official firmware and battery has never been replaced.
Like i wrote, i must hold down power + volume down for like 30 seconds every time i have to turn on the device.
Any help?

Help needed asap

Guys i was in my settings a few minutes ago and i came across a feature which enabled me to open up my notifications by just tapping the screen so i enabled it and went to the homescreen to test it! Upon tapping the screen the phone started maing a beeping noise and a blue line started scrolling continously downward on the screen! I cant turn the phone off ! I only seem to be able to reboot it which doesnt help! I needto power the phone off i assume and then maybe do a hard reset??? Advice needed please
anyone?
What setting did you access I don't believe anybody will be able to help if we don't know where you went and what you changed. The things you mention are very vague and don't really paint a picture of what is happening.
Also if you want to turn the phone off without using the on screen settings just hold onto the power button for about 10 seconds it should turn off, after that hold power, home button, and volume up to go into recovery to reset or what ever it is you please.
Also is it showing you an X and Y axis? If so then you just go into settings, developer settings, show screen updates and turn that off the grid should go away. I am not sure what your issue is but that seems like the most likely option.

Emergency! Lg g3 acting up after marshmallow(d855) no root

So a week ago, I double tap my phone to turn it on and it doesn't. I try twice and nothing. I pressed on the power button and the screen did turn on, but since then, it's gotten so bad that neither the double tap nor the power buttons work. Sometimes, I use the camera shortcut to turn on the camera and Then go to the home screen. This worked for about a day, but then that isn't happening either. Now I find myself plugging it into the power supply to turn the screen and even taking out the battery and putting it back in. Since about a day ago, the screen won't turn on even if i get calls(any kind of call). When i'm on a call, the proximity sensor does it's job the beginning of the call, but When i want to end the call, it doesn't work and i have twist it or turn it on some other way. My phone discharged alarmingly fast, and i think it's because i had to leave the phone at very low charge levels. Also, i have a lot of apps, and all the ones that drain a lot have been deleted. So many bugs. No fixes. Please help
Update: I've reset my phone, no difference.
Flash with a stable rom. Or clear all settings do a wipe and reinstall.
