Three odin files +pit file - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey there, before I'm starting to talk about my needs I want to say that I've searched alot, about hours before opening this thread.
I want to make a totally cleaning install for my Galaxy S2(formats and wipes are not wipeing everything so..], I've flashed/installed over 70 Roms and over hunder kernels, the phone is fine,
but I wanna clean it, all the trash/garbage - After a long search I concluded that you cannot totaly clean your device and make it as new and not matter what you are doing there will be some scripts/files from old roms/kernels etc ****.....
but I got that the best way to make it cleaner is to flash Pit + CSC/PDA/Phone, now to the point of the topic -
I've searched alot but didnt find all those files...I don't care wich firmware it will be wich country wich language etc...I found alot download links...broken links that not working any more -_-
So I've decided to ask you guys if you can give me working links to those files, at list to CSC PDA PHONE files...
thats all, sorry.
Btw sorry for my grammar I know its sucks :\, Thanks in advance

Yes pit will work however there is a high risk of bricking your device by using incorrect pit file so you should avoid using pit file at all costs and for most part its not needed.
To clean your device you could instead just simply format your internal/external cards using cwm recovery. So simply install kernel like Siyah and go to storage menu and format cards. What they're called depends on kernel/recovery version. On some they will be labeled as internal/external on some it will will be sdcard and emmc. You should also format/system (this gets rid of rom/romdata).
Once you have formatted them simply install the rom you want to use either via download or recovery depending on stock/custom.

I know all of the things you have said, but not matter wich formats you gonna do or wipes, there will be olds files, scripts and garbage that you don't need...
I just need links for those files, and I know the risk of flashing a pit but I still wanna do it...
there is nothing to talk about just need those files :/ thanks alot for the fast comment !

You're wrong.
If you format system, internal card and external card there will be no files left. I have done this myself very recently. You could also use a kernel cleaning script aswell if you choose like Biftors.
If you use pit file all your doing is re-creating the same partitions you can just format, ie system and internal card.
If you want to go ahead and re-partition you can get files from here. But dont come crying if you choose wrong version and brick device. Just go and read and follow one of the many brick topics. IMO its just not needed or worth it.

I've readed this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1795966
you can see that formating system data wipes etc are not deleteing everything...
and btw sammobile gives only PDA no more, I'm not noob and dumbass or w/e I'll not cry or anything else I've choosed and all I need is
CSC / PDA / PHONE and PIT.

That thread/comments are FOS. Formatting system/data partitions deletes everything on that partition which is where rom/rom files are stored. If you also wipe internal SD then everything is gone as far as files you can access/see goes.
Wipe data/factory reset.
Wipe caches.
Format/System
Format/emmc (internal sd card).
Check the older GB roms on sammobile, They should have all files like pit etc.

Honestly, All you need to do is
Wipe data/factory reset.
Wipe caches.
Format/System
Format/emmc (internal sd card).
And maybe use kernel clean script. No need to re-partition unless absolutely necessary.

[Q] How do you wipe everything before going back to stock??

I used ODIN to go back to stock but directories that were created before by various apps are all still there. My question is:
I want for my phone to go back to exactly the way it was when I first got it. I have the ODIN pit and tar files for stock eclair. But is there an option in ODIN to select to make sure that everything is wiped before installing stock??? I see all these directories (like sipdroid and some music directories that were created by winamp, and I'm sure others as well) even after I ODIN back to stock so clearly ODIN does not wipe the memory before installing the tar file. Is there a way to make sure the memory gets wiped before installing the stock tar file???
Thanks in advance guys.

Did you flash also the .pit file inside the package, right?
Now re-flash the ROM: CSC, CODE & MODEM but ATTENTION! DON'T FLASH THIS .PIT u1_02_20120326_emmc_EXT4_8GB.pit!!!
Instead flash this one: View attachment Recommended_.pit.zip

yes i flashed that pit.. but im now on gingerbread la4 one package file but still the same problem of not writing or copying to/from mmc . i think formatting the system and restarting the phone is causing the problem.??
If you flashed the .pit file in the latest leak then im afraid youre done for, i cant think of any solution because eventually if you keep flashing and wiping youre gonna brick out.
Needs a samsung service to fix this me thinks, why did you flash the pit???, its not aan i9100 official pit, the official is 16gb, NOBODY else flash this pit file please.

[Q] formatting my device

Hi.
In the following topic, regarding Android Revolution HD 30.1:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=38495361&postcount=13120
it mentions that a full format of system, preload and internal SD is required.
What would be left on my device afterwards? would the recovery still be installed in order to flash the new ROM ?
I understand that 4.2.1 leak doesn't contain any modem, would I have to install a modem afterwards?
Thanks.

Your recovery will be intact, what you do need to do is backup your internal sd to external and/or pc, and make sure the Rom you want to flash is on your external sd!
As a foot note....I personally find this good practise, to do, at least once in a while as sd rubbish can cause problems, and I always format system before a Rom change, irrespective of what I'm changing to/from

Thanks.
Should I remove my external SD while doing all this format things, and put it back just for the installation?
What about the Modem? would I have to install a modem seperately?
I never do, just make sure in recovery you select the right sd to format, nandroid and titanium backup also, as always

what about the modem issue? would I have to install it seperately?
Thanks again.
I do believe modem is either a separate partition or always comes in a Rom, but regardless, flashing a modem takes 30 seconds so it's not a problem

[Q] how do I install the official (but rooted) rom without restocking?

I would really like to check out the recently released i717 official rom, but i don't want to have to go through the process of backing everything up, wiping everything, running odin, risking bricking my device, and then have to move all my data back over.
Is there a version of this rom that has been rooted and zipped so i can install it with twrp like every other rom i've ever come across?
thanks in advance,
cpgeek
If you use the Kies software on your pc it will install the stock rom and save your apps and data.
If you use the stock rom in the development section by pmtr3 you can flash that as a zip and it is rooted.
But when you change a rom to a different base you should factory reset and wipe first. If you skip this procedure (called dirty flashing) you can have troubles later.

thank you for your fast reply, I apologize my search-fu rather tanked on this one d'oh
thanks again though!
Yeah buddy, the xda apps stink. I usee the odin tar from samfirmware.com to get the stock JB. This morning I flashed the pmtr3 stock on top of what I had without backups or resets. But its the same base.
At least be sure to do usual wipes. If it borks your phone you can always fix it later.

I should have spoke more carefully - I *always* run "factory reset", wipe "system" and "caches" from TWRP, it's the internal sd filesystem data that I wanted to retain which is separate from the OS image and it's active data files. I don't want to have to move around my music, pictures, app archive, etc.

You shouldn't have to worry about wiping your internal memory. I updated with kies and didn't touch my internal memory, and neither did kies. However it is recommended. I now have some extra folders that aren't being used on my internal memory. I'd delete them but last time I did that I kept getting errors. So now I make a spot on my external sd card saying "internal backup" and copy everything to it. Then I wipe internal as I do a factory reset. Once up and running I move what I need back to the internal memory from the sd backup.

CWM - Wipe data\Factory reset - Wiping all data from Internal SD

I've read some other posts where this has caused a certain amount of controversy but no post seemed to actually answer the question..
Using the Wipe data\Factory reset in ClockWorkMod Recovery has started to wipe the ENTIRE device
(excluding the external SD card)
I have flashed dozens of custom ROMs in the past and what normally happens is my external SD card contents remains safe, this still happens, no problem there, and all my personal documents such as music, pictures, videos and all other files that are not part of the actual ROM itself remain safe too.
BUT
Yesterday, i flashed a certain ROM designed to resemble the S4 (with leaked 4.2.2). Its performance was shockingly bad and other reasons caused me to flash a new ROM which i had used in the past - but when i wiped data/factory reset through CWM - ALL MY INTERNAL SD CONTENTS WHERE GONE
Things i did notice with the 4.2.2 ROM before re-flashing were that:
-When i connected it to the computer (via USB) my device was seen as i9500 (the S4)
-Also, it had created a "0\" folderto store the system ROM.
-I also noticed, wehn re-flashing, it took longer to wipe data than usual..
NOTE: I DID NOT USE THE FACTORY RESET THROUGH ANDROID SETTINGS - THIS, I KNOW, WILL WIPE THE ENTIRE INTERNAL SD, PERSONAL FILES AND ALL. THIS WAS DONE THROUGH CWM.
Because obviously the 4.2.2 ROM wiped my entire Internal SD i had no ROM packages left on it to flash and because obviously i didnt know this until i wiped/reset it involved me having to use ODIN to reflash a STOCK ROM just to be able to boot up and transfer files (ROM packages) from PC to phone - which obviously then meant i had to reflash CWM aswell before i could install the new ROM.
Final Note:
The problem i have, is that i have to do the above EVERYTIME i want to flash a different ROM (i flashed 3 last night).
For some reason when i wipe through CWM my internal SD card is COMPLETELY WIPED!
The question is......Why???
Could the 4.2.2 ROM have re-partitioned my internal SD card and now CWM thinks the ENTIRE thing is data to wipe?
This is the only reasoning i could put to why it wont leave MY FILES alone...
If this IS the case, how do i get it back to normal??
I'm told, on numerous websites in BIG BOLD RED LETTERS that selecting 're-partition' in ODIN is bad and is just a ticket for a free paperwieght (the phone!).
Thank you to ANYONE who can help with this......

Thanks for your help, however the info you suggested does not solve my query..
The info you've provided assumes that the data is stored somewhere else, ie. 0\
Although my device did create a 0\ location when wiping the data, no personal data was in this location.
When i flashed back to stock using Odin, i could see that my phones internal storage was only 1.0-1.5GB used.
Before i started this i only had about 900mb left on my device!
So its not that my data is hiding somewhere.....its gone, and everything on my hones internal storgare is wiped everytime i "wipe data/factory reset" through CWM.
