Jaf Kernel troubles - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm on jaf rom and the rom has crashed a couple of times, once making it kindof screwed up so had to restore from some point
the thread said if this happened, flash a new kernel
Which kernel is best suited.
and hoe exactly to do it? I'm on locked bootloader. Do I just flash via xrec?

via flashtool only on x10.
Had a feeling it was only via flashtools

If for locked bootloader you can flash on CWM or xRecovery or if for unlocked bootloader only flashtool
Enviado desde mi X10i
My bootloader is unlocked. I can flash stock base kernel using xrecovery. eg. I was on tjap's rom, then flashed donut's rom (both based on stock rom), to get th5-1 kernel I use xrecovery. However, if from ulbl kernel, you need to flash stock kernel using flashtool.

Help

Hey i have my BL unlocked in my LWW its posible that i put stock kernel without relock my BL??? :/

Why not use custom kernels?
You can find stock kernels here.

I believe if you flash with flashtool the whole firmware it'll go back to stock...

You can not. For flashing any other kernel except stock you need unlocked bootloader.

If it works with stock kernel... In some cases custom roms work with custom kernels only, so to not brick your device be sure this rom works with stock kernel.
EDIT: after you have locked bl how will you install stock kernel with recovery?
