MIUI.us 2.12.7 Ruby ROM [Found] - HTC Amaze 4G

Thought I'd share my findings... going to test it out shortly myself.
Main Issue: No data.
MOD EDIT: Link removed.

**** let me know how stable this is...
Sent from my HTC Ruby using xda premium

On the ROM now and its working good...
---
- no data... it attempts to run but unsuccessful
- unable to change sounds (ie ringtone, notification) ... likely need a folder created on sdcard and store miui tones inside to work ... temp fix: use edge app to set different ringtone etc
- user agent for browser thinks its a desktop but doesn't load mobile layout for device ... temp fix: menu > advanced > user agent > change android to iphone
- themes app fc but works by accessing through the menu
---
...will update other issues as I find them

ROM originates from china, try using market enabler to redefine the market area should fix that.. I also renamed the default folders.
Edit: oooh, you're running market app, check the folders from the first page and run play store instead lol

A mod can remove this thread if there's a concern otherwise I'll remove once the dev makes a post. Nevertheless, the dev made it public posting it on dev-host for all.
p.s. - I agree with you, but you must also understand this is open source code and XDA is a community driven site and we should share with another to make our devices the absolute best that they can be. One should be concerned if one is taking ownership for someone else's work or turning a profit, in the mean time you can rest assure your statement is valued.

We do have a policy (XDA Rule 12) and it does not cover reposting anything you might find. It doesn't matter if it is for profit or not, if it is their work then they get to dictate whether to allow others to re-share it. Open source code does not mean free rein to do anything you wish with the code. I agree that it would be nice if everyone freely offered all of their work on XDA, but that seems pretty unlikely and unenforceable anyways.
Now, given that this ROM does not appear to have come from someone registered here on XDA, at least not with his dev-host username, I won't take it down unless contacted. I will move it to General though as it isn't your work.

Well said and I couldn't agree more.
p.s. - I searched for the same username as well on XDA before posting.

This is my work & was not meant to be released just yet.
mf2112 I can prove that it is my work & would like the thread closed & link removed. Thanks
mekaziah at the time of the posting I felt that I could possibly have a few more things worked out of the ROM & was going to share with the community or was going to share with a couple of developers as a beta.

And before that you could've first given us more info regarding your problem (like what ROM are you using, etc.) and you could've also realized that the dev forums are not for asking questions or asking for help, you could've also had some more respect regarding the devs that give you ROMs for free and devote their personal time in order for you to have working and stable ROMs for your phone.
After that, could you give us some more info regarding your problem??
Oh k sorry for everything

Has anyone got s-voice to work?

I have been messing with this for hours. Just want to know if I'm wasting my time.

I installed the APK that was available and it works fine. Though I guess works fine is relative as it works as best as the application works. If you are having issues maybe try to reinstall it again:
http://widefide.com/mobile/download-and-install-s-voice-on-any-android-ics-device
thought samsung shut off the connection to the servers until the s3 was released.
could be wrong w/ some outdated info though
I'm officially done with s-voice....for now....

Nothing to lose sleep over. It is nothing exciting and even if you got installed likely would not use it. Does not really compare to Siri and apps on the android market likely work better
I manually changed my build prop and got a bootloop -___-
It's working for me now. I installed the version with the build.prop edit and it's working great.

Update: I took a breather and reevaluated. I FINALLY got it. Just going to go over steps
1. From xda news, s- voice the xda way I got the download
2. In Root exp /sdcard/download-voice.talk.apk -move it to /data/app
3.fix permissions rw-r--r--
*Do not install
4. Reboot (app installs on reboot)
Enjoy!
I haven't had a chance to really use it, just tested a few things. I will update later.

cant boot into recovery from inside rom. unless i find a "fast boot" option to turn off.
i just installed this kernel. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1873824 so far so good.
^^^ that kernel gave me several reboots. just running stock now.
I think if the dev wanted to post this on XDA, he would have posted himself.
What you develop or enhance to warrant posting this in the development area?
If you encounter any bugs/FC's grab a logcat, pastebin it, and post in the right area at miui.us.

NEW Protos/Something about XDA and the users

So, YES I'M FD1999
And this isn't a attempt to come back. I'll just help my friend. I don't care if you ban me again.
So I saw that paul.n posted a thread about Protos. WHAT THE HELL IS THE PROBLEM?!? I don't see any problems!!! He posted that only to show that you. But no somebody must come and report that. If I remember right, Arjen is linking to the Google Code page (ICS Weeklies). And what's the problem when paul.n is posting a link to that forum? I don't see any rule, XDA! Define your rules, or don't open a forum! And cornelha, I have permissions to use some work here. It's open-source. Proper credits are given. Links, too. And modifications on those work are bigger than 75%. So read some threads and you'll read something awesome with 'proper credits... links' If you still don't get it, then I recommend you to go to school.
I WRITE WHAT I WANT:
If you still want PROTOS go here:
mod edit
So now you may ban me or whatever you want

Please, Don't buy me a Nexus 4, 7, 10, Galaxy S III, iPhone 5, iPad 3, a 3D-TV, a gamer-PC with an Intel i7 processor and 16 GB RAM and 3 TB disk drive. Please, don't do that

Thread closed. I remind you that user can not have more than one account. Also you can not promote any other phone related forum/site. That's just our point of view. We are here to keep this forum on track, help others and do these little things to make XDA a better place for everyone. You can come here and whine about being banned. If you would follow the rules you won't be banned right now. Also, work of banned members can't be published here. Go on and continue your job, but not here. You had your chance and you have failed.

I am patiently waiting for a working CM10 or 4.4 AOSP, and don't really mind the time it takes to build as long as its solid.

Houstonn is kicking ass, but the information is terribly difficult to find
http://downloads.codefi.re/houstonn/me/test
that SHOULD be the 4.4 AOSP build for sprint. i have not yet tested. one in the thread did, and said everything worked.
good luck guys, and go post in the thread if you see bugs, because i dont know if there will ever be a dedicated thread in this forum for it..

dont be stupid and not read the thread some before installing, looks like full wipe and twrp/cwm (maybe one or the other) will be required

Well a couple of reasons for that. The G2 for Sprint came out almost a month after the other G2 variants. Also, CDMA phones have always been the step child of Android Development.
Rest assure there is development for this phone. I have personally tested a few 4.3.x and 4.4 roms. The devs don't want to release half ass stuff. When the threads start here, they will be close to perfect.
Patience grasshopper.

its actually nice to hear that someone is working on it.
I had a Gnex and the development was explosive compared to the G2 (not surprisingly), but as I'm sure you can see in this forum, it looks pretty empty.
Without a doubt i am grateful for every dev who is working on Roms for our phone, but without any forum movement, it looks pretty stagnant. Your response is nice to see, and I am sure that I'm not the only one who is happy to hear that there is someone somewhere trying to help the bastard stepchild of the G2 world out
