Hey all,
The girlfriend has a Neo V and she likes to keep our conversation going, not delete any messages. It got to 6000(inbound) messages + before and then I backed it up and cleared it. I did this as some messages would get held up and then a few might come at once. It seemed to stop but we had a few problems not too long after. She's now back up near that many messages and today we've been having trouble with texts again.
Anyone else had similar problems, am I right in pointing towards the conversation size? Is there a recommended max to stick too?
I convert to HTML and delete mine every few months so I dont have this issue like she does(if I let her she'd have every message since we met over a year ago in there ^^).
Thanks guys,
ED E.

Hi,
I have been using the HD2 since christmas and other then the updates from HTC i only have 1 or 2 apps on it.
for a while now the phone has gotten all sluggish, studdering when scrolling through the "windows" or taking a few secs to unlock etc.
another problem, dont know if they are related, is that the sluggishness is very noticable when writting text messages or emails. Often it feels like the phone is trying to catch up with my typping. Another annoying thing is that the coursor will jump around, i.e. writting a sentence and then pressing "," and the "," will all the sudden be at the beginning of the message ...
Anyone experience this kind of problem and know a fix?
Any help is greatly appreciated
What rom are you running ?
Have you tried using task manager and cleanram to free up memory and make sure the phone isn't working on other things in the backround ?
Sometimes if twitter is updating when im typing i get an issue like you've mentioned but generally its not that bad, but there's always the little few milliseconds delay which doesn't sound much but does hinder the typing...
you probably have a load of txt messages built up. The hd2 doesnt perform at all well when there are more than a hundred or so txts saved.
A family member has an android phone, and bad signal where they live, so a lot of outgoing SMS messages end up failing.
To my dismay I find out, basic functionality like, continuing to retry, like my old motorola did 10 years ago, isn't included in Android!
I searched and searched for an app to correct this, but I could only find ONE and it was paid and only had a handful of reviews so I don't really want to recommend it.
Surely other people have this problem, there should be more choices, shouldn't there?
Can anyone point out some apps to get around this?
thanks
I also live in a poor signal area and suffer this problem. It's annoying having to go back to the message, click on it etc to re-send. Like you I can't believe there isn't a simple app to do this, or rather it should be built-in. I have a HTC Legend. It's my first Android, and the first phone I've ever had that doesn't re-send failed messages.
Are there any apps that let you manually resent an SMS that failed?
Edit: I found that Go SMS Pro did.
I also saw a couple that claimed to automatically resend but I can't remember the names. You should search the market again.
I've found an app that does this:
CrowdSMS
That proves it can be done, but the app is mostly useless: it doesn't replace your stock SMS app because it doesn't display or show replies. All it does it send texts, then you have to go back to your standard app to read any replies. It sucks. The amount of timewasting and frustration I've experienced because android wont do this automatically is bonkers.
Galaxy S8/Others -Resend Messages - Frustratingly..... EASY !
It's so ridiculously simple, yet so frustratingly difficult to figure out ! ! !
Instead of holding your finger on the MESSAGE that failed, hold your finger on the EXCLAMATION MARK ! ! !
Then the "Resend" option magically appears.
Pulled my hair out for several hours until figuring it out !!!
:silly:
Have fun, everybody!

This doesn't happen all the time but when I send an sms to a friend who I have sent plenty of messages to (more than usual friends) there is a lag in the animation when I send it. I have tried limiting the number of messages per thread and that did not help. It also doesn't seem to matter if there are a lot of apps open. It is very annoying and hopefully can be fixed. I am on the stock 2.3.5 firmware (KI3) but this has been happening since I got the phone. Any suggestions?
No one else has this problem?
I did when I first bought the phone, however after updating to 2.3.5 it dissapeared. I stopped usng it anyways, prefer handcent
i noticed that in 2.3.4 which i updated yesterday.....i tried to delete the conversation with lots of sms and it was smooth again, it wasn't doing so in 2.3.3. they fix one thing and another goes off, classic!!
gabrio
I fixed it actually by taking off split view. So far so good.
Has anyone had this issue?
I've Handcent and emjoi have worked for 2 years. Last 3 weeks, I just get this: ?=?
I tried GO SMS as well as ChompSMS and it's the same.
They can receive MINES but I cannot see theres.
Just seeing if it's an HTC thing (Rezound - Stock 2.3.4), Verizon thing or an Android thing.
Thanks in advance
same here, been working fine up until a couple weeks back. its really hit or miss as sometimes it goes through, other times, it receives the text in gaps L I K E T H I S. Reading the reviews on all the 3rd party messaging apps, it seems like everyone is having this problem
I saw that as well. But some recent reviews reporting it's still "functioning properly."
But now even if I have GO SMS, others I know w/ GO SMS can't recieve them either.
Sure hope Apple didn't "Patent" this and now blocking Android from exchanging them...
I believe this is my first post here, but I've been a long time lurker and hopefully you guys can help me out!
Whenever I get a new text, I get the popup/quick reply box on the home screen. If I close that box and then go into Handcent (does this also with stock app) the message doesn't show up in there. Was working fine this morning then after a few hours it started doing this. Don't know what could have changed.
Went ahead and did a factory reset. Got a new message and it showed up in the app after closing quick reply. Got another text one from same person, closed quick reply, went into app and message was gone.
Non-rooted Verizon Galaxy S4. Have had it about a month, never dropped or abused.
Thank You in advance for any help.
Thinking it may just be an issue with handcent. Deleted it and stock app started working fine. Reinstalled handcent and things started screwing up again.
Thought I'd just give an update.
