Solid build. I cant decide between this and sense and I feel dirty for saying that

This build is running awesome except for the noted issues. Deck and toast... You guys rock!
Been running the 1/18 build with TL's kernel and haven't had any sod for the last few days I've been running this 10.1 build.. TL, your kernels are awesome as well. Thanks to all you great devs.!!!

Let me just say for those that are curious:
Audio is superb. More amazing than its ever been. My music is loud and full of bass as it should (I like that sort of thing sue me) and it doesn't require any additions like those silly mods of Beats or AC!D. The speakerphone for calls is also loud and clear, which btw phone calls themselves are clearer as well. It's like HD Voice without having HD Voice. Whenever that gets turned on for Sprint I'm excited to hear how much clearer it gets. The microphones are working very well for calls. For video recording is a tad lower but deck IS working on "all teh things". Camera is working perfectly, and only 720p video recording as noted and the quality is fantastic as well. I'm very pleased with this rom.
You will all also notice the speeds and transitioning with this rom is higher than it was on 4.1.2 CM10. It's very fluid and responsive. There's also a nice animation your eyes will enjoy when switching between apps.
Last thing, if you need Developer options, you have to go to Settings > About Phone > tap build # 7 times to open it. Nice little easter egg there eg?
All in all its a solid ROM and I am very pleased.
[EDIT] One last thing I forgot... connectivity on this ROM is very much improved. Hand-offs work as they should, and much easier and quicker to get eHRPD when reconnecting. Especially when I hit usual dead spots/1x areas. Great work deck.
Thanks so much for this. Excited to try after work.
Lol. Just updated CM10. Looks like I'll be waiting until some of the bugs (mainly camera focus) are cleared up.

+1, only issues I have experienced are the ones deck already mentioned in the OP.
I actually chose this phone based on the knowledge that he was developing for it. So happy he's continuing to work on the jewel.

So you know how you can change how many screens the wallpaper can cover? From the default 2 to 5...which allows you have a wider wallpapers? Is there anyway to change that number to 1 so you can just have a longer, more vertical wallpaper that doesn't scroll when swiping through homescreens?
Loving this, been running it for a few days.
Add in the newest Komodo kernel and the touch focus is fixed. GPS lock is beautiful.
Only wish that the external SD mounted but that's nothing new.

Bumping. Because! It has been almost two months since the last reply and I have heard there are some fairly stable Jelly Roms for the Evo LTE now. My question: What are they and how stable are they?
cm10 is very nice...multitask works perfectly...battery life is awesome
HTC EVO LTE
Cm10, paranoid and aokp are the only jb roms that I know of at the moment. All are pretty stable and lots of people are using them as daily drivers. There are still a few issues like phone force closing on boot, flaky mms and weak proximity sensor (there's a separate flash that fixes) but on the whole they are fully functional. Some have reported cell and gps signal issues but everyone's setup is different...YMMV, I suggest giving them all a shot to see which one you like best. Cm10 seems to be the favorite right now, but paranoid has some pretty cool display tweaks. If you're coming from sense and you're s-on with hboot 1.15 or later, make sure to read up on flashing the kernel separately with fastboot.

Im a completely NOOB when it comes to rooting because I have never done it before, so everything you said might as well be chinese, lol, but no worries, once I pick a ROM, I ll do extensive research on everything you just told me.
My main concern though: My wife's Galaxy SIII sends over track and album art info to our Prius Nav display perfectly. Also, the "reading SMS outloud" feature only works with her phone, and not mine. Will flashing to one of these ROMs add this functionality to my phone? I have heard that the main issue is the version of AVRCP bluetooth profile that HTC uses in sense and also the bluetooth stacks library that Sense uses. I had heard that CM fixed this, but im not sure. And what about the SMS reading thing? what determines that?
Read my guide. It has a lot of info
If you're new to the scene, definitely read om4's guide...it has lots of good info about rooting, flashing, etc. all in one place. Much easier than hours of searching for each topic individually...

Ok guys so I have been reading on the thread you guys recommended, and i still havent pulled the trigger on rooting. I do have a few questions:
-One of the main things I noticed is, if I get CM10, I lose the awesome camera the EVO has. Im assuming if I get a rooted sense based ROM, I would still keep my awesome camera?
-One of the main reasons I am rooting is because I have heard CM10 has a better bluetooth stack built in, and as such it should work much better with my car, sending over track and album artist, as well as the ablity to browse music files via bluetooth through my nav screen. Or at the very least, I want to be able to get back the USB plug in functionality I used to have on the EVO 3D. When i plug in my Evo LTE in my car's USB, nothing happens. So, is there a ROM that allows me to keep the sense camera but also has the bluetooth/USB host capabilities I am looking for?
-When I root, does everything get wiped out and I have to reinstall all my apps, contacts, etc?
I'm on CM10 for the past month and am really liking it. Since I was also disappointed by the camera app I went ahead and tried the Jelly Bean 4.2 camera, and it works wonderfully. It's not 100% as awesome as HTCs, but it's enough for me. Look for the JB 4.2 apps - it's floating around somewhere.
As for BT - I don't think CM10 has APT-X, so audio quality would be lower on compatible devices. I think I notice a difference on my BT stereo headset, but it may be my imagination. Again - small price to pay for using CM10.

thanks for the reply, but I am not as concerned with audio quality as I am with my track/artist/playlist information showing up on my car's LCD Nav thing. Any ideas on what I can do to get that to happen? Does CM10 have this? And what is APT-X? What I was talking about is AVRCP. Stock sense does not have a high enough level (version) of AVRCP to do what I want. Somewhere on another thread I was told that CM does have this, but I have since been unable to confirm it.

Your probably better off waiting for the official jelly bean update from HTC which *should* be in the next month or so. It might be included in that. As far as cm10 goes, you have nothing to lose by trying it to see... Just back everything up before you root and then try it to find out.

Well, it kind of works. This is more of a teaser than anything. One bold dev, Dorregaray, has attempted to rework the whole camera from the ground up, and has released a preview build with a partially working camera. I'm sure with more time, it will be improved.
What works:
-preview, but it's 90 degrees off.
-take pictures, and they look okay.
What doesn't work:
-No video, no Skype
-Once you take photos and then leave the app, the camera crashes and stops working
-Reboots sometimes produce a blue screen that requires a hard reboot.
And before anyone asks.... NO THIS ISN'T WORKING ON CM10 JELLYBEAN!!!!

Is there anywhere that has a chart comparison of the different ROM's?

Thanks. I found CM10 Licorice for the RAZR. It is 4.1.2 and is pretty slick. There are a few bugs reported but I haven't encountered them. They are quality of pics. Problem with recording HD video, and some connectivity issues with BT.
The only bug that I have run across is when rotating the phone. The screen shrinks to about 1/3 of it's normal size and then pops back to full size.
Also dual booting into licorice myself. Its the best I've come across that is cm10 based. I've tried others such as whizzed bean, but nothing comes close to licorice. The dark gapps and customizability are the best. The only problem I have is the stock camera app doesn't work for me, but I can use an aftermarket camera which is okay. The bluetooth bug also is present, but I don't use it much so its not a problem for me. The screen rotation bug is there as well, but that us with all cm10 ROMs as it is present in the base build so all others will have it until it is patched in the source. I'm on it as a daily driver right now and have been using it for about 2 weeks. Great ROM, and super fast and smooth.

I tried the BT today. It would connect fine with my car stereo but you could not talk through the stereo. I hope they get that worked out. But it will happen in time.
Right now I am about to load the AOK-Licorice build to see if I like it better than the CM10.
LOL, I have a triple boot phone now.
What's the work-around for MMS issues? That's really been the only thing stopping me from going JB prior to an official leak.
Edit: Specifically for Licorice... that's what I'm most interested in flashing, after all.

GoSMS is working for me sending and receiveing MMS and SMS. Don't really like the looks of the GO interface but it is werkin.
EDIT: found a theme that gets rid of the hideous standard interface.
Wow. BT is severely broken in both ROMs.
But I don't use it much. only for hands free in car.
When enabled, it breaks Google Now speech input AND you can't make a regular call with the handset. Well you can make a call, but you can't hear anything and the other party can't hear you. That is when it is NOT connected to a BT device. Just turning on BT causes this.

Hence CDMA in thread title. Here is a link to their GSM ROMS. There is a CM10 in there and it looks like a few other JB ROMS
http://www.droidrzr.com/index.php/forum/30-gsm-razr-roms/
I've gone through a few roms, including CM10.1 and AOKP from th3bill. It seems like AOKP is in fact the most compatible, as every app I've tried runs (Antutu, Chrome and Bluetooth were the deal breakers of CM10.1). I've had some issues with stuttering, but I do understand that will happen with any ROM.
Any other ROMs that rival how well it works?

almost everything works.sms/mms.i have it clocked down with rom toolbox pro,to 1000.it doesn't seem to suffer from the driver related issues that start poking their heads in JB ie: graphical glitches, over heating,ect... google chrome will/does crash after a short while, but that's driver related also.sms split/long message mms conversion doesn't work sometime.its an all around solid rom,and a good stock replacement. you can download it from team uscellulars website.from time to time I boot into recovery and wipe dalvik and cache,to cure any hiccups that arise, but it runs as good as stock moto ics does on other devices.

I am currently running a cleaned up, senseless, meanbean running at 1.7 ghz with Arc reactor....This thing is freaking amazing. Stable and I have very few problems if any.
Vanilla roms, whether it be aosp, aokp, etc...Play music is always FC, especially when web browsing, power hungry games such as CSR or Monster blade are always force closing.
It could just be my phone, but for you guys.
When it comes to stability, power, and battery life, do you do sense, senseless, or vanilla (aosp, aokp, etc)

Same here...I love aosp but I always have problems with wifi, camera, prox sensor, mms, gps. There are work arounds and mods available to help, but it becomes a pain after a while. I decided to give sense another shot a couple days ago...I'm liking sinister lte a lot. Stable, fast and some nice sense 5 touches. Battery life seems to be about the same for me on both sense and aosp (not great thanks to tasker, skype and all around sh1tty cell reception) so it's really about using genuine htc drivers so that my hardware functions like it should.
I've tried senseless, but to me it sort of defeats the purpose. Plus I kinda like the sense launcher...

The phone worked perfectly on sense Rom. I flashed an aosp Rom and then the problem began. The Mic does not work at all, not for Google voice, calls, or even voice recorder. I flashed back to sense roms and still the problem persists.
However, when I tap the phone while voice recording, the phone picks it up, as well as background noise. Is there any suggestions? Ideas? Or possible fixes?
Just an update: I flashed a CM rom with the 3.4 kernel, and most of my issues with AOSP has disappeared. At least for the time being, it seems as though everything is running as it should.
I can now uninstall system apps using TB, which is something I couldn't do with older CM roms for some reason. Yes, I know that I could've removed them through recovery, but I didn't want to do that.
EDIT @ 6:31a: One random reboot while trying to wake the phone during a game (I turned the screen off.) Also, hanging and lag issues upon reboot. I'm still using the stock kernel.

I'm running the latest nightly from CyanogenMod and the only issue vi have is no ff camera. Since the new kernel has been included, the nightlies have been very stable for me.

Camera is a must for me, the camera issues I found were too much but dirty unicorn worked well in terms of overall stability

I've been uaasing the original release of dirty unicorn since it dropped (3.0 kernel version) and it's been rock solid and packed with features.

I'm not knocking or praising any single rom. ALL of them behaved exactly the same when it came to the issues that I was having. The issue was definitely with my phone, not the roms.
On another note, I suggest that anyone who has experienced some problems with AOSP roms to try out roms built on the 3.4 kernel. My phone ABSOLUTELY responds better to it. Everything works. I no longer suffer from the problem involving the removal of system apps. No more ticks, and all of my music tracks are readable once again.
