Try to update ur firmware (via kies).
If u r using a Rom or already rooted, use Odin or CWM.
Much success

e....i think there is a small misunderstanding,
before i posted,i had brushed my 9100,
but whatever before or latter, the camera problem is the same
on that page,= =all of their version are 4.xx,and no Chinese version,i use 2.3.6
ps:my camera ver is so strange, that is VCFA01, phone ver is TBEC28
phone comes from Europe, and when i bought it ,it brushed
I do not know what they did to my phone
so i brush my phone with a original official hongkong rom ,[ including apboot, csc, pit, code, modem]
then used cf xxzski3 kernel to root
finally brushed a original zski3 kernel
........these are changes i did for my 9100
is there any other way i can try?
ps:thanks for your help, really!i know my english looks horrible....

Oh ok, sorry.
Hmm really strange

Could you people let me know how to set it right. Thanks in advance
Sometimes it happened when you did something wrong during flashing. It happened to me too before when i was on cm7 rom. But its not bother me much cause theres another alternative solution.
If other features work properly and you just encountered with only camera problem, you can download 3rd party camera app from market, so far lgcamera is the best. Better than stock camera. This is the easiest way for you to try, if you change rom version,.maybe the camera problem will solved but you may face another bug. Btw heres the solution,
1- try 3rd party camera from market
2- flash another kernel, siyah or fluxi or excel69. Siyah 2.1.1 is the best to.give a try.
3- reflash rom by full wipe

I installed it but it says cannot record video and also cannot take photo with Lgcamera. I even installed the syiah kernel the also the video recording is same any other ways to get around i even tried wipe and install then also there is no changes in the video recording except this others are fine. Any solutions you let me know. and also let me know how you overcome this error as you faced it. Thanks in advance
If u did all those method and it still doesnt help, then u need to refer to the rom's forum. Check forum if other user faced the same problem or not, if yes, i think u will get the answer there.
If only u who face the problem, and u still wanna give a go for this rom, try this method, flash previous version, (when on previous version, take time to check the camera, snapping images and video recording ).. then do not full wipe, just clear cache and dalvik. The flash new version, and remember if u got boot loop or feezing after flashing, simply flash siyah kernel via odin or cwm..then your phone will boot up.
Then check your camera again. This time u just flashed the rom without full wipe. Maybe your camera would work.
I faced this problem too before, and i just reflash the rom, but i use different method, i reinstall back the stock rom, root it then flash the related rom..and it work.

Update - yesterday i tried to roll back to custom rom my phone came with 2.3.4 i used odin to update the unofficial stock version of 2.3.5 when last backed up i only backed up the 2.3.5 which is unofficial any way i rolled back to this 2.3.5 with cwm and checked the video recording the same problem i had in that too. so i rolled back to MIUI ICS 2.11.26. Still the problem is there.
Seems like the problem exist on any rom? Seems like the problem not because of the rom, but your phone's hardware might have a problem.
Use jig to reset binary counter. (google for jig binary reset) Flash stock rom as it original, reset binary counter then bring it to your phone dealer. If the problem cause by hardware, dont play fool, your phone might end up like a crap. Claim the warranty is the best solution, but you need to reset everything, if u dont reset binary counter, phone dealer will know that your phone has been rooted and ur out of warranty.
But before that, take 2 day to figure out the solution. Try cyanogenmod rom, or any other rom. Ill try to figure out to help u too. Ill info u later.

Thank you so much. The problem here is i am in hongkong using unlocked version of At&T so i cannot go to phone dealer. So i think binary counter is not necessary any way it will not help. Now my only question is how to get back to version 2.3.4 as it comes with it without restoring the 2.3.5 (backedup) one.
Well, restoring backup is not really recommended, i use this method before but always endup with bugg.
To get back to stock firmware, u need to download original firmware file to flash with Odin from your pc. Thats all

Normally original stock firmware cannot be flash via recovery mode.

Update - I installed successfully with Odin stock version of 2.3.4 in my phone and tested the video camera the result is same no change so i came to a conclusion when the video taken outside it has no problem when its taken in indoor that too mainly under tube light this type of waves come is it because of sensor setup let me know else its because of firmware fault.

[Q] root galaxy s2 with kernel bokj2

greetings all,
i have a new phone and unfortunately the phone came with a rom of our service provider t-mobile who but some custom apps witch can be only removed if the phone has been rooted.
of course i did some research on how to root my device but i get stuck and have no idea anymore how to root my device. i made luckily a screen capture.
could please someone help me how to root my device and send me links of file that i need during the root proces.
many thanks in advance.
Those pre-installed apps are part of your firmware, which is branded. If you want to get rid of them, flash one that isn't branded. And if you want your phone rooted too, just go with a custom-ROM.
If you need help with it, tell me what country you live in and what language you want your UI in.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
you mean just instal a custom rom using odin?
This depends on your desired outcome.
Do you want a stock ROM, a custom-ROM, CyanogenMod or MIUI?

i want to use cyanogenmod or miui, i have no idea what the difference is between them but it seems to nice.
CyanogenMod is as close as you can get to the "naked" Android. It's like the nexus-series.
MIUI is like a mix of Android and iOS. Very simple, yet powerful and allows a lot of customization.

many thanks for explanation, so in my case i should probably choose for miui, so how do i get it on my phone?
First backup your data. You will have to factory reset your phone. What language is the UI in? I assume Dutch, but I'm not sure.
You can already download Odin and the Siyah-kernel (the tar version).
Edit:
Just checked your profile. ;-)
You can find ether latest MIUI on
www.miui.nl/
Tell me once you have all the files.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
i downloaded the Siyah-kernel and also download the miui rom from miui.nl.
so what do i need to do next?
You need either Odin or Heimdall. In your case I'd go with Odin, as it's simpler to use and you won't need it much. So, download Odin and get the drivers working. Close KIES competely, put your phone into download-mode (turn off, hold volume-down & home, then turn it on) and connect it while Odin is running. It should detect your device.
I'll post the further instructions once you got everything working so far.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
i am ready
When you are ready with Odin, make sure that Repartition and flash lock are NOT checked.
Auto reboot and f. reset time shall be.
Tick the "PDA" box and select the Siyah tarball. Then hit start.
When the phone reboots immediately hold volume-up and home until you are in ClockWorkMod.
Go to mounts & storage and mount the USB-storage. Put the MIUI-zip-file on your device, then unmount the USB-storage.
After that proceed like this:
Wipe data
Install zip from sd-card and choose your MIUI zip.
Wait till the installation is finished and reboot.
If your phone does not boot, go into ClockWorkMod and install again.

GingerMOD is also very close to pure AOSP. I'm actually considering going to it because it supports TV-Out via MHL, whereas CyanogenMod does not, as far as I know. Could be worth checking out for you.
use another kernel
hi it have worked for me too, but i have a question, could i use another kernel with a stock rom is this possible, im not that smart and have for the first time a smartphone the same as karamanoglu, i just got lucky to got my phone rooted, first i did a hard reset and it got in a loop by rebooting and going to the tmobile logo back and forth, so i got frustrated and decided to root it, but i dont like the custom rom and want it back to the stock rom, but am affraid it will get a brick with my luck. can i use the kernel bokg2 and with the original stock rom from samsung but still rooted and can delete the apps from samsung if i want, sory for the bad english.

i dont find any third party app yet,
Why cant you upgrade to ICS, stable versions are already out...
make sure which model you have from under the battery slot, I9100G or I9100
mine is I9100 not I9100G..
can you please provide the easy installation link for upgrading GB to ICS?
better you learn basics first from the sticky threads, to know rooting, flashing, stock roms, custom roms etc...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1442549
Official update is through Keis only,
apart from the Kies update, you can manually flash official ICS roms through ODIN software,
There are many custom ROMs available in this forum, which can be flashed from the Recovery of your Phone, but for that first you need rooting+CWM on your phone.
Keep in mind that Rooting, flashing another Kernel & Rom will void your waranty.
let me know which way you need to upgrade to ICS
i want to do using official update as you mentioned via kies..
what is the procedure for that?becoz i dnt want to spoil my warranty
you are very helpful for me..
thank you friend for helping a newbie in android world...
samsung has not rolled out the ICS for complete regional wise previouse versions of the GB yet,...
first of all you have to check your firmware version, to know whether your version is among the eligible list of firmwares samsung released the update for...
you can use the "Check Fus" application from market for this...
sorry..showing here this one is the latest firmware..
sorry then you will not get through Kies,
what is your firmware datails?
dail *#1234#
Pda-i9100jpkj2
phone-i9100xxki4
csc-i9100ojpkj1
yes this is Middle east version, for which the ICS update has not been released yet.
only the options for you are to wait or flash update mannualy as I described above...
so just wait for some-days,if nt comng the official update i may go to the flashing
thank you friend..
one more doubt..
why my status in gtalk not showing robot?so others can understand i am in mobile..
I dont remember the settings of old talk,
now I can see a setting in my version (4.0.3) Menu/settings/your account/tick mobile indicator...
Android symbol is ok now.thanks

[Q] Kinda new to rooting the device, need some advices!

Hi there... so today i got myself to root my Galaxy S2 (without G).. So I actualy just watched a Video and yeah..
I updated my phone to the 4.1.2 firmware, i guess the leaked one? the file I used is called "I9100XXLSJ_I9100OXXLS1_OXX" .. well this should be like the official one right? And I also rooted the phone with PhilZ-cwm6-XXLSJ-OXX-3.1 ...
before i ask my questions i just wanted to say that im not that good at asking my questions in "small words" so I never really find good google results(at least not in english since im german and not that in english).. and now my questions:
- If i want to use like usermade app´s , how can I see my firmware(custom??) is comfortable with these Apps? I mean dont I have to look up if my Firmware works with it or can I just use pretty much all these things because my firmware is not rly a custom one? I guess so, right? Because I dont rly want to harm my phone
-as you allready read i rooted this firmware.. Is it now like I cant use some usermade apps, themes, lockscreens etc. ? Because I always read like "just for xxx firmware with root" or is root just like "i dont change much at the system but the system rights, its still like a normal phone with rootrights" ?? For example http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1753286 ,"I have "created" this because I didn't like how minimalistic weather looked on CM9." .. CM9? What is this? A custom rom? doesnt it work than with my Firmware ??
I know I asked these questions so horrible, i cant really explain it better. lol. i hope you get what I mean.
best regards
E: i guess a bit bigger prob., wanted to install http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2006327&highlight=galery and i thought it would work when i deinstall my normal galery. it didnt und the backup from the normal galery doesnt work neigther.. can you explain me how to install http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2006327&highlight=galery or at least(but i would love the one from rhe note 2 wayy more!) my old galery? i dont get it how to install mods like this. i mean svoice installation also worked after i deinstalled the standard voice thing..)
First Remove old Gallery then flash the zip from recovery
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
Hi, it just kinda bugs around atm, when i flashed the galery it said me "succesful.." but i couldnt open it. Shouldnt i just reinstall whole os ? Atm i dont have much apps so i guess it would be better. Do I have to somehow uninstall root, then just reinstall 4.1.2 with odin again or can i directly reinstall with odin even tho my phone is rooted atm ??
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
PS yeah i should just reinstall the whole OS. So as i said, i need to reinstall it. Everything bugs now q_q how can i do it the best way?? I mean especially the root..
Ill be there at around 16o clock gmt+1 and it would be awesome if xou answer and help me..

Okay so. I just reinstalled 4.1.2, rerooted it and there we go. Do you maybe have any cool / special Apps for root-only??
For example the "S Memo" would be awesome!
I would recommend trying NeatRom Lite v4.0, there is a thread for it in the development section, it has great support in the thread, the Author is online daily and a very generous and helpful guy, he takes and responds to requests very quickly... Check it out and I hope to see you there

Maybe its your carrier that either does not support 3g, or u simply cant get 3g comnection from where u live in cause the company u use doesnt push 3g all the way to your area(happens if you live in a place where not many other people live, or far away from town centres and stuff).

3g is not Important in all country except syria, u need 3g when electricity turn off, and to use it in any palace not in closed place like WI-Fi
R: [Q] 3G doesn't work in jellyBean
Damn...i heard u guys in syria are having a really bad time, this stuff must be frustrating.
Well there may be a couple of options:
1)in syria there have been some problems and 3g is not getting really well to ur area anymore
2)your rom is unstable or just stupid(in this case i suggest flashing a good custom rom)
3)youflashing processes may have lead you to flash a rom meant for a nother regional residence(either the stock one u flashed through odin, or something else u flashed), in this case the "modem" of your phone(it's the kinda way your phone gets cellular data...kinda like an antenna kernel but i have no idea what it is just that it controls your antenna receiving/sending connections) might be wrong. Different modems exist according to where u live (or what operator u use i think as well). Try going on the web and looking for a modem that works in syria and try putting it back onto ur phone(i dont know how, look for it on google).

R: [Q] 3G doesn't work in jellyBean
Have you tried a different modem?
To answer your qustions in order:
Not probably and yes.
Try a new rom and a new kernel, it wont hurt....u gotta try to work your way with the phone man, forget stock...even though im not sure how your problem might have been caused....

Good kernel: http://www.gokhanmoral.com/
If u flash i through odin get the tar version, if not and u flash it thru recovery get cwm package. Be sure to get the one for galaxy s3. About battery usage...im not sure...because i have a 2800 battery i got off ebay and it makes my phone last a whole lot longer, if u have battery problems in syria (like the power being shut down for a couple of hourse at times) u should get yourself a battery like this as well, it doesnt cost much.
Plus getting a custom rom is best, i wouldnt cound on kernel fixing your problems too much, give rootbox or jellybam a try. Or cyanogen if u wish but i dont thinks its very stable yet.
Also it is smart to get the latest version of your clockworkmod recovery, to do so download off the store the official app called "rom manager", u can use ut to update the recovery.

Yeah i had a feeling you werent but i like to give out detailed explanations of my reasonments just in case...the habit i guess of helping out many of my noob friends with their phones...
and the english is not a problem im italian myself, i dont speak perfect english either
But abkut the rom: if ure sure cyanogen works with 3g try it...
I dont like it either so even though im still on stock ive been doing some research and ive come to the conclusion the best choiche for me would probably be jellybam. A good rom is foxhound(but it is heavy on features) or rootbox(not sure if fully developed yet...).
give jellybam a try just in case.
I dont have many more ideas to help you with your problem as you seem pretty self-conscient of how to flash stuff...i hope someone else can help you, but if i were u i would try flashing some roms and messing around a bit with the connectikn method for data inside rom preferences. U could also try looking in some syrian forums if this is a known problem with galaxy s3 in syria.....

syrian forums? hahaha if any syrian have this issue he won't solve it, and i see xda is the best fourm in the world
the problem is: the phone is not to me, and his owner doesn't like any rom except stock rom
R: [Q] 3G doesn't work in jellyBean
Aaahhhhh the phone isnt yours...damn that makes it even more difficult to fix the problem, even more so if you know it used to work before, but when u changed rom (or put th same one but with odin) it stopped working. That practically means u HAVE to change rom to make it work.....well try flashing stock rom for rooted devices from somewhere else but its gonna be difficult sorting this out if the owner wont cooperate.
I seriously doubt kernel will make some sort of magical changes...

i think if i flash a stock rom from 4 files, the problem will solved
