Does this build include the charging under recovery, aroma fix? Also, just out of curiosity, why not use 2.4.0.0 alpha as base?

It does support that. Aroma my testers said it work. I was talkin with dees_troy, He said 2.4.0.0 isn't exactly ready yet. So 2.3.3.0 is stable.

You must if you want to use it. That hasn't been tested actually.
Hey Fly,
Thank you again for all of your hard work on this! I have tested every function that I usually use in TWRP and so far so good. No issues with 3 separate backups now, even changing the name. It is especially fast at making backups, only a minute or so. Flashing (even with Aroma) seems to be quick and painless. Add in the Flash Image app and this phone is worth some of my time now. No longer am I stuck getting my flash fix on my other 4 devices. If I had any thanks left you would get them all...but you already did.
Cheers

Can't be the DLX because of this post. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=37060618&postcount=4
Haha sorry I am using the Verizon Droid DNA, so I downloaded the _DLX.zip package and flashed it in fastboot.. is that correct?
EDIT: I see that other have had success, so I'm going to try re installing the drivers and see what happens.
EDIT 2: Reinstalled the drivers (from HTC Sync) on 2 computers and still no adb I can't test AROMA quite yet because I need to get the files onto the phone first through adb

If I can get other feedback of it not working i'll look into it. I wiped my linux box(my way of building recoveries) clean as can be. Got to rebuild it today. So if I can get other feedback of it not working i'll look into it more. But all the code looks right to make ADB turn on.
Try doing this. I learned this on the Rezound. Go under advanced. ADB Sideload. Go into it and back out of sideload. That usually jump started ADB for me.

Oh, hey, that did the trick! Thanks! Will report back with Aroma status in a bit.
EDIT:
adb will connect automatically sometimes, but sometimes I have to do the sideload trick to get it to connect.
Aroma seems to work perfectly on installer pages without a whole lot of content, but on pages like those found in CODIS with tons of options, it still freezes sometimes. Much more stable, though
Thanks for all your work and dedication!
Just another confirmation that this version of TWRP worked with aroma
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=37133875&postcount=612
past 3 posts showed him having issues with aroma. This version of TWRP set him straight :good:

I was having the same issue last night. But it happened on any type of wipe I tried. So I tried reflashing recovery, still did the same thing. It's odd because I was able to wipe everything before I installed a different ROM yesterday morning.
Edit: Removed the custom theme I was using and all is well. Go figure.

As you guys know, we can't flash boot images directly from Recovery. This makes restoring nandroid backups more difficult.
Well, not anymore. This flashable allows you to restore the boot image from a nandroid backup directly from recovery. For those of you who are experts, this duplicates the functionality of "fastboot boot recovery.img" in a self-contained zip.
To Use:
1) Flash the attached zip file
2) Press Volume UP when prompted at HBOOT
3) Reboot the Device (it will probably ask you to press power to do so)
NOTE: If the device doesn't reboot on its own, reboot "normally" not into recovery. It will take you to recovery automatically. If you go into recovery via the HBOOT menus, you still won't be allowed to restore boot images.
4) Restore your nandroid and with its boot image. It will flash this time
5) Done.
How it works:
1. Dumps your recovery image
2. Zips it into a viable PH98IMG.zip and drops it on your SD card
3. Downgrades your main version
4. Reboots to HBOOT so you can flash it
5. You then boot into unprotected recovery.

Yeah but it offers no benefit or extra ease. The way we install custom roms right now is the ideal way.
con247 thank you so much for this. I fastboot flash everything from the computer. But two guys that I help out on gtalk on a regular basis had a bunch of trouble with the PH98 process, but aren't able to use fastboot on their computers while at work.
Both guys have been using this rom very heavily going back and fourth between ICS and gingerbread, and both have confirmed this is very easy for noobs compared to the fear they have of ADB, fastboot.exe, and the cmd line.
Thanks again. You are an incredible asset to the Rezound and Android community.

It might be related to using the Amon Ra 3.14 and trying to backup android secure. Dres, just released a fix because the Devblock location changed so it borked making or restoring backups that contained android secure. Sorry , if this wasn't helpful , but I realized my backups worked because I never backup android secure. Just figure it might save you a lot of debugging when its probably on the recovery this time not the app.

Remember to disable logging in Superuser. That also causes some major issues. Just open superuser hit settings icon, and where it says logging set it to off. You should have much better luck that way

The Rezound is supported by bootmanager.
I've never been able to get boot manager to work correctly since I've started using it back on my dinc2. Had issues installing some roms on that phone too. Which is why I think my problem may be the settings I am using. Is there specific settings I need to use for the rezound?
EDIT: After I changed the settings SU I tried again at work and it froze still and even rebooted during the install.

Hello fellow Touchpad enthusiasts,
I happened to see TWRP has a version 2.4 available to us - http://goo.im/devs/OpenRecovery/tenderloin
I saw it posted in other device forums, but not ours so thought I'd share the news.
About all I can tell you is it installed without any major problems. Nothing else tested other than boot into it and reboot to CM 10. I just moved ver 2.3 and copy/renamed 2.4 into same directory. Only problem encountered was old ver permissions were messed up so had to mess around before I was able to move the old ver. That and I reset permission on new ver to match - forget what I modeled it after - the other recovery uImage since I have them both installed.
As always ymmv.

I read about incompatibility problems between TWRP 2.4.3.0 and TouchPad.
But does anybody know what about the new twrp-2.4.4.0-tenderloin?
Please fulfill:
TWRP v.________ and ROM ToolBox
CWM v._________ and GooManager
Edit:
Above is false. You should use ...
... TWRP with GooManager and ...
... CWM with ROM ToolBox!
I will stick with CWM. Seems stable enough, it works as it should, and I don't mind to scroll through using my volume rocker.

I updated to 2.4.4 but haven't tested yet, but lots of people were having issues on the Nexus 4 on 2.4.3.0 and after the update nobody has any problems. I know the touchpad is a different animal but i bet it works now. No way I'm ever going back to cwm. Twrp has the best setup & all the right features.
Everytime I tried to flash a zip for a bug fix (headphone detection glitch, etc) it would fail in TWRP. Every time. So I went back to CWM. Goomanager is completely unreliable in regards to finding rom updates, etc.

Update:
I take my message back. I backed up, did a factory reset, restored my backup, & everything is there except it twrp didn't restore my app data nor my system settings data.
Update:
I just flashed shumash's new build with success. So flashing in twrp is now working fine for me. Going to have to investigate why my restore didn't fully work on my previous post.

There were two main roms I wanted to try after I finally S-OFF'd my phone yesterday. Hatka Supreme 1.1.0 and Carbon. Neither of these worked and I'm glad that I backed up my S-OFF rooted stock rom. Hatka Supreme, the guy states its best to use Beast Mode kernal with the rom, which I flashed after I installed the room, and it just randomly reboots at the splash screen/a few seconds after getting into Android, so I restored my stock and everything worked fine. Next, I tried Carbon, and it just sat there at the carbon flash screen for like 20 minutes, so again, I had to restore to stock. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Is there a difference between Original Android Development and Android Development? Should I be looking at the original or what? I'm really lost, I'm going to try another rom, hopefully someone replies to this before it finishes downloading. Thanks for the help.
EDIT: I'd rather just sit and wait to see if someone replies before I waste time downloading another rom...any help would be appreciated.

It's probably your recoverys fault. On my last DNA I had nothing but failures. Once it took at least 30 times to get a Rom installed. Never solved the issue on that phone. I just soffed my new DNA yesterday, installed the newest cwm touch and flashed 4 different roms with no problem. Try re-flashing cwm touch.

I'm no expert, but when u flashed hatka, did u reboot into the system before flashing beast mode kernel? Flashing a kernel in the same recovery session is a no no. Also, beast mode is not compatible with carbon, fyi.

I did that the first time, and thats when I started experiencing it, so I figured that was the problem. So I restored to stock, and then just tried flashing the rom and booting, still same thing, rebooting every 5 seconds. Sometimes I'm able to get into settings, scroll up and down a few times, and then it reboots.
EDIT: If I remember correctly, I didn't even flash beast mode kernel after I flashed carbon.

I've had the same sort of thing happen to me when we first started working with CM. I had to lock up and run the RUU then unlock again, started flashing normally again after that.

Did you figure it out? I'd do what pio said. He's kind of amazing. He's a very smart man who most likely knows what he's doing

when i install RLS 6 hyperdrive my phone starts fine but after one minute it restarts and again turns again on works fine for 30 seconds and again restart help!!!!
When posting something like this its good to know the beforehand so people know what led up to this. Did you wipe? What recovery you using? Did you follow the install instructions word for word?

A couple of possibilities:
Make sure you wipe per the dev's recommendations prior to flashing.
Try installing with minimal mods and see if you can get it to boot. Once you flash, you can always dirty flash the same installer and pick a couple additional mods and see what's causing the issue. Some people noted they were having problems with the Walkman mod causing bootloops.
Check the MD5 of your download against what is in the OP. If you downloaded to PC then copied to SD card, check that the MD5 on the card matches that on the PC and what's online (some people had problems where the file was corrupted during transfer to phone).
Also making sure you have one of the most recent recoveries is a good thing to check. I believe I used TWRP 2.6.0.0 and it worked fine for me.
Finally, try using the stock kernel instead of stock optimized or a third party kernel. I can use stock or stock optimized, for example, but when I flash faux it bootloops about 80% of the time on my phone.
There is a good bit of info about the bootlooping issue on RLS6 in the original Hyperdrive thread. Start on page 472 and read on from there.

thanks but i dont think that my problem sir thanks !!! more help please?
Did you flash with twrp or cwm. Theres been a few people reporting bootloops when wiping/flashing with twrp. If so you might want to try cwm. Have been using cwm since the DX was the "it" phone. Got it on 4 devices now and have never had a single problem with it.

TWRP = bad news with HD6
Just want to say that TWRP and HD6 definitely are not playing nice together. CWM FTW!

I've installed HD6 twice on my phone using TWRP 2502. I followed Dev's installation instructions to the T and have had zero issues.

Good to know. I believe that I followed the dev instructions as well.
One time my uncle was over and I was telling him about a marital concern. He told me that I should probably not do what I had been doing and that there was probably a better way. I listened to him and life has been better. Life is full of choices.

I agree, like I said have been using it on multiple devices, for close to 3 years now and have never had a single problem. Tried out twrp a few weeks ago and didnt like it to much. To each his own though

I have also been having difficulty with both bootloops and the phone freezing on the Samsung image and not booting past this point.
I did a full wipe including data with Twrp. After multiple attempts I'm considering switching to CWM. My question is how to I install CWM on a device without a functioning rom?
Does this require flashing back to stock with odin or is there an easier way?

You can flash CWM from within TWRP, just use ADB to copy the zip file onto your phone then flash, or alternatively you can use fastboot to flash a new recovery directly to the phone. Neither method needs a working ROM to accomplish.
