hi
i want to do this mod http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1132721 with the crt effect and the battery percentage on my sgs2.
i have villain 1.4 and wanted to know if this mod is ok to go with my rom??
and also how to install the mod..
i dont want to mess it up and install everything from scratch..
he mod is available in Clockwork mod(flashable through clockwork mod, dont forget to backup), dont forget, its your responsibility when flashing! shocker..
So you flash via CWM same way as you flashed Villain rom .
The man says its for VR 1.4
It also tells you to back up first .
Tested it works on VR 1.4 .
jje
@JJEgan thx for the quick reply..
actually found the effect i wanted on villain tweaks..crt effect and the circle battery with percentage...simple selct and install
So what i did was I deodexed the cyanogenmod 7.0.3 Stable Rom(witch is normaly odexed).
For the ones who wanne know what deodexed/odexed is look here (for some a nice thing to know)
Its not that I made a whole new rom here, all credit goes to the cyanogenmod team of course. It just took me some time google-ing how to deodex correctly.
Simply put this allows more theming to be done so you can have a transparent status bar if you use a theme like this and this (these are 2 of many) and apply them with the theme chooser app
Downloads;
CM 7.0.3 Rom Deodexed, you can also extract the deodexed apps and frameworks and replace them in your rom (7.0.3)
Patch, to allow to have the transparent status bar
Undo Patch, if you decide to keep the deodexed rom and want to undo the patch
If you want google apps (market etc.), just flash the gapps found on cyanogenmod site
I recommend you nandroid backup first before you start flashing, as normal wipe factory,... in Clockworkmod
If there are and problems etc, let me know
Awesome, I'll do it during the weekend.
I tried but end up with no status bar. I think it got the whole process right, I wiped factory first, then flashed the rom and then the patch.

hmm strange, didnt happen to me
did you flashed the rom and then directly flashed the patch, or did you booted up the rom first then went to recovery and flashed patch?
if not try flashing rom, boot up rom then flash patch
I got the status bar doing what you said, but transparency doesnt seem to work on my homescreens. I only have transparency when i go into apps, is this how it should work?
use this to setup your background, then you will have homescreen transparent statusbar

Is your patch working on Cyanogen 7.1 RC or should i download your deodexed rom to apply the transparency patch ?

It won't work on the RC. I can give you a patch for nightly 153 if you like (it came out after the RC). I know it's a nightly, but I've been using it with no problems for weeks.
Hi,
Hitmax117, i would like to make a patch for transparent status bar on a already existing custom deodexed XXJVR rom.

Hi !
I've recently disturbed you with my issue of xRecovery uncapability to flash any ZIP
Now , I can say that this issue was totally solved , thank you so much
But , the smile has re-disappeared from my face , because when I flashed the first ZIP "Xperia S music player" the music player disappeared at all !!!!
Secondly , I tried to flash a new status bar , and the status bar disappeared too !!!!
Then I tried to flash an ICS theme , it boots , I could see the new lock screen , but I couldn't use my device , it reboots after every boot :-(
So , what can I do for that sh*t ?? :-S
Thanks in advance
Y U NO answer me pals?? :-D
Thanks for your powerful help !!!
Reason why no one answer you may be because it's a issue not many have had.
You should try to ask in the thread for the statusbar you flashed and the ICS theme.
I think you should flash new ROM if it reboots after every boot.

Thanks a lot sir , and I'm sorry
But you know , I'm a new member , and I don't know exactly where should I ask my question

Probably no. Because every ROM has some mods of its own. And when you put stock SystemUI.apk & SecSettings.apk with some other MODs it will make problems. Maybe there is something in your ROM SystemUI.apk & SecSettings.apk that is needed for something other to work normal, and that is not in this. And @abdoel_046 do not know what maker of specific ROM did. Only what he can do is to modify every ROM separatly.

Sorry, dont have one now; did a Nandroid Restore will have to flash th MOD again. BTW this is what I did.
Boot to Recovery,(TWRP)
Install 'OGBatteryMod1.0'
Wipe CleanDalvik Cahe/Cache
"For Stock Rom Odexed
Stock Rom Odexed + Fish Bone Signal Icon"
Does this include default signal icon + fish bone, or just a fish bone icon?

Odexed.
I also tried with original stock odexed, to revert back, but still the same.
I also tried with mounted system partition first from the twrp. No success.
I'll try to delete cache and dalvik cache in a moment.

Hi,
I didn't find any ROM on the net for your phone, but this may be a good news for you! I found a device with same SoC as your device which has MIUI ROM. Here
Here is a guide on how to port it! Try it, it may work. I think it will as porting between 2 same MTK SoC's is really easy!
Cheers!

Well, what's wrong with your stock ROM? You can dump the system and/or make a nandroid backup in any custom recovery.

Basically , i was running the standard rom that came with my phone , i changed to NOVA launcher , but the phones normal launcher was still running the background.....so i rooted the phone and froze the original launcher that came with the phone as it was draining the battery.........anyway , i found the phone was running a bit slow , i had installed various apps etc..........Sooooo i thought , just reset the phone .....so because i did not unfreeze the original launcher , when it came to resetting , the phone now has no launcher due to me freezing it !
It looks as if most of the rom is still there as it does load up , it checks for sim cards etc but then stops at that point , even the phone signals come up.
So do you think it is worth using CWM to still back up the rom and use for porting to MIUI Jiake V8 version ?
If so , what command in CWM do i use to make a rom for using in porting .
Thank you for your help.

Have you enabled USB debugging on your phone? You can simply install apps through ADB, so you can install a launcher through ADB and/or push it to system!

In the android recovery (3e) i have the option of Apply update from ADB
i have the following other options
reboot system now
apply update from adb
apply update from sdcard
apply update from cache
wipe data factory reset
wipe cache
backup user data
restore user data
Do i simply backup user data for my rom to port to MIUI ? or is there a simple way using the ADB update ?
With the ADB for the launcher update , how would i do that and how would the system pick up on my choice of launcher ? would i need to edit some lines of code to point towards my choice ?
Thank you for your help.

Thank you for this , i had not tried to do this , yes i can get into my settings on my phone.... i wiped all the cache etc in the rocovery mode , then rebooted the phone , i then side swiped down to get into my settings.....i set up my google account...but when i load google playstore it just seems to hang...with the loading screen....i can even launch the browser from settings via the Apps setting menu....everything is working...but still no launcher....
i'm still a bit stuck on how to side load something like Nova launcher , so i can get my phone fully funcational again
I had hoped that with been able to set up my google account etc , the google store would of worked , then i could of just downloaded a launcher !
But hey i think i am getting somewhere today with this phone
Oooooooooh wow , thank you for the side swipe idea.....i cleared the data for the googlestore via the app settings , re-ticked the agree to google terms and conditions , then downloaded nova launcher !!!! looks as if things are working a bit better again
Brilliant i have even rebooted the phone and it loads straight to NOVA launcher
Can i still unfreeze the old launcher do you think ?
I would still like to convert to MIUI though

Well, I would now copy the nova launcher to system/app and give rw-r-r permissions to it, so you won'z get problems again!

Yes, you can. Well, If you don't have an actual stock ROM then it's not that easy to port it. As you have to make a nandroid backup, then convert it into flashable ZIP. But you actually need to set the right mount points for your device in the updater-script. And I don't know how to find that out. So I would be statisfied with stock ROM!
