[Q] Linux ADB Mount - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anybody know of a good method to mount android file systems (4.0+) on Linux? I want to be able to mount my sdcard remotely (TCP) and manage my files on my desktop. I've tried http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1821601 but this is very buggy. I'd prefer a way to integrate mtpfs and mount to a directory.

this is IMHO best solution

Mounting ms_.nbf on Windows?

Hi,
does anyone know if there is a way to mount the extended ROM image under Windows?
I tried UWIN from Windows (from AT&T research), it seemed quite promising but I always got a "resource busy" error. Also the mount command is different from Linux, maybe I did some mistake...
I also tried Windows Services for Unix but MS's mount command is unable to mount files.
Does anyone know a tool or method to mount or edit that ROM under Windows?
Thanks,
Jeff

Mounting TFP in Ubuntu

Hello
Can someone tell me how I can mount my Prime in Ubuntu 11.10? I use Ubuntu as a VM (Virtualbox) and I can't get it to mount.
I tried sudo mtpfs -o allow_other /media/Transformer but the only thing I see in the file manager is the device (called Transformer) and in this device there's only one folder "playlists" w/o any content. Can someone help me? thanks in advance!

[Q] Smb mount & system permissions

Hey out there,
I need some advise regarding mounting a local samba share folder on a tab/phone.
I manage to mount a share from my server to the /mnt/cifs (or other folder in cifs) of the android device but can't manage to get it seen by the app i intend to. I used cifsmanager to easily mount the share.
I also managed to mount via the terminal the share folder but it can't be seen by ES Explorer (or other app) except when mounted in folders owned by "root".
My aim would be to have any app (like music player) to see the content of the mounted share and use its files. And in the long run to have the mounting done automatically done when at home or when away sync some folder via sftp and access all using the same protocol.
After searching for days now I don't manage to find any answer about this problem. It doesn't seem to be possible (and I find it logical) to mount in /storage or other folders owned by the "system" user.
Can someone helps me to understand the mounts and permissions on Android and more specifically in Cyanogenmod or at least redirect me to the right location?
Thanks guys
My device: ASUS TF300T
ROM: Cyanogenmod 10.1 nightly
