HELP phone will not start up after installing flash counter reset d2mtr - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there,
i wanted to reset my flash counter, and downloaded flash-counter-reset-d2mtr.zip.
I run this with CWM. Now the phone stays in the startup screen.
I can still get in to download mode and cwm.
I tried to flash with odin, but it says "nand writing" and then does nothing. I tried to flash with cwm but it said:
E: can't mount cache recovery command
E can't mount cache recovery log
E can't open cache recovery log
E can't mount cache recovery last log
E can't open cache recovery last log
Can somebody please help me out here
I am on omega v37
Siyah-s3-v1.3-Odin

flash-counter-reset-d2mtr.zip
No idea what that is .
Flash stock rom via Odin .
But it looks like Nand is corrupt or you are using wrong / damaged firmware .
jje

I have been able to flash to stock rom, but still won't boot.
In android system recovery 3e I get one error:
E: failed to mount /efs (invalid argument)
I now have
Current binary: samsung official
System status: Custom

Restore your backed up EFS folder .

That is going to be a problem. I have no EFS backup.
I flashed to stock rom 4.0.4 Used triangle away to reset counter.
It now says:
no
Current binary: samsung official
System status: Official
Phone now boots, can't call or go on wifi.
Hope i can now claim warranty?!

Don't use Rz, flash with odin again and flash E3 recovery kernel or hell-locks kernel

[Q] [HELP] EFS invalid argument

i had root with CASUAL on 4.1.2. Accidently installed and ran an app about cwm, so i pulled my battery out, it was bricked. until then i had TWRP recovery, so i wipe data, cache, and dalvik cache to odin stock roms. after that it would hang on "Samsung Galaxy Note 2". then i flashed alternative restore on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2040264 but it keeps on reboot.
Here is what i have.
ASR gives me E: failed to mount /efs (Invalid argument) and on download mode i have odin mode, custom binary download: yes (1 counts), current binary: samsung official, system status: custom.
i tried flashing TWRP, but fails. any suggestions on what to flash? or any solutions?
Thanks!!

[Q] Can't mount data, efs...

Hello everyone,
I have big problem with my S3.
I have installed with stable CM10.2 few weeks ago.
*
The phone was working normally until today when it reset itself (probably not important, but when I opened gmail).
When restarting it stuck in bootloop, so I wipe cache and Dalvik cache.
After that, when starting the phone it stays on the black screen where it says Samsung Galaxy ...
I tried to do a factory reset, and it did not help, then I tried to restore a Nandroid backup and did not want to
Then I checked mounts and partitions and saw that EFS, system, preload and data are not mounted and if I click to mount anything from it returns an error that it can not.
*
Please help if anyone knows what I can do.
*
Thank you.

Best whishes,
Dag
Partition probably corrupt, format each and then restore your efs backup. Flash your rom again with a full wipe.

Tried to do it, but when I try to format system this is message on screen
Warning: No file_contexts
Error mountinf /system!
Formating /system...
It just stays like that, and than after some time screen turns off
Factory reset and flash full stock rom using odin, if that won't work then try the rescue firmware from general thread.

Thank you for your answer
I tried flashing stock firmware with Odin but it didn't pass.
Than I tried this
http://widefide.com/mobile/galaxy-s3-boot-problem-solution
and now I can't enter recovery (still can access download mode) and got message that "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again."
I guess that I will have to take it to service center.
In download mode I got status:
Custom binary downloads: Yes (1 count)
Current binary: Samsung Official
System Status: Custom
Can I somehow revert System status to offical?
Only way I know is triangle away, which needs a working rom to launch from, sorry.

[Q] partition problem.......please help me out

My phone won't start, it gets stuck at the logo. In the recovery mode (CWM) i get a message saying
can't mount / cache/ recovery/command
can't mount / cache/ recovery/log
can't mount / cache/ recovery/log
can't mount / cache/ recovery/last_log
can't mount / cache/ recovery/last_log
Maybe I messed up with my partition. Please help me repair it..................would be grateful
Problem solved.....if you face the same problem take following steps:
1. Try flashing CWM using SP flash tools. The problem might be in your recovery.
2. If it doesn't work flash your phone with the stock rom. Google search it and you will get the link. My phone started working after this.
3. There was a website that said something about flashing .pit file using odin(I don't know much about it), in case your phone still hasn't started working.
Found the solution

Samsung S6edge E:failed to mount /efs (Invalid argument)

My phone was dead due to unknown reason. It was very slow for last couple of days, so I reboot the phone into recovery and then wipe cache and dalvik. After the wipe I reboot the phone but it stuck on Samsung logo. So I tried different unsuccessful methods like, flash stock ROM, etc...
After flashing the stock ROM, rebooted the phone into recovery for factory reset, then only I noticed the error E:failed to mount /efs (Invalid argument).

I had this exact same problem all week.
There are a few steps you need to take before you can get your phone back to normal.
Step 1. DO NOT wipe the efs. Doing so will wipe your IMEI and serial number therefore never letting your phone connect to a cellular network again.
Step 2. Flash TWRP with ODIN and backup your efs using TWRP (make sure to keep this backup on your PC)
Step 3. Get the zerolte PIT file and the BTU stock ROM (Flashing my original stock rom didnt fix the issue so I used BTU and it fixed it)
Step 4. Flash the PIT file using ODIN and wait for your phone to restart. Then enter download mode again and flash the BTU stock rom
Step 5. Go back into ODIN and flash TWRP again, then make a backup of your efs again.
Step 6. Plug your device back into your PC and put your backed up efs from step 2 into the new backup and overwrite the files
Step 7. Restore the backup in TWRP and restart your phone
If your phone boots wait a little while and the carrier selection menu may show up. At this point you can leave your phone on that ROM and wait for Samsungs updates.
Common asked questions:
My phone fails at sboot.bin. You either havent flashed the PIT file or your phones bootloader has been updated to a newer bootloader. Try flashing just the modem.bin file from the tar file and seeing if that fixes your issue.
I've wiped my efs partition. In this event you need to go to a repair shop and have them write you a new efs. Once a efs is wiped your IMEI and serial number are irreversibly gone.
My phone fails at hidden.img. Try flashing again if its not working flash a new PIT file and try again.
The file name of my firmware: G925FXXU5DQA7_G925FBTU5DQA2_G925FXXU5DPL3_HOME.tar.md5
Android version: 6.0.1
CSC: BTU
Hope this helps you fix your device
