Wifi Insomnia - Motorola Droid X2

Does anyone know of any app that keeps wifi running while your phone is idle. its really annoying when im trying to download an app and the wifi will go to sleep

Spare Parts or Blade Buddy?

Do you have the option to "Keep WiFi on during sleep" set to always in the WiFi settings?

[Q] WiFi sleep doesn't work on official 2.2.2 (351)?

Hello!
Going from the official 318 2.2 (EU) to 351 2.2.2 (also EU) it seems that the WiFi sleep doesn't work anymore, WiFi never sleeps regardless of settings. I've done a FR but no difference. Also tried with the App "WiFi Sleep" without success. The reason for me wanting the WiFi sleep is that it consumes less battery than UMTS because of the range to the router.
Has anyone else noticed this and is there a fix that works w/o root?

Same problem here. No solution found. Tried my wifi fix, without success. Very annoying problem.
Fixed. With advancend wifi lock. Wifi goes to sleep when screen turns off.
The problem now is wifi does not wake up when the screen turns on.
I do not know which is the best option.

[Q] How to know what app is keeping wifi on?

I have an international atrix from Brazil and I'm using nCrust rom with edgans kernel.
My wifi sleep policy is set to turn off wifi when the screen turns off, but it doesn't works. Wifi dont goes off.
Is there a way of discover what is causing that?
Tks.

101XS losing Wi-Fi after sleeping.

After my tablet has been asleep for a while I'm having major problems with Wi-Fi. It appears that I am connected but no data is being transmitted.
Sometimes, if another wifi network is available I can switch to this new network and back to my preferred and then the Wi-Fi works OK again (for a while.)
Other times when there is no other network available or I am unable to connect to the other network I turn of Wi-Fi or switch to Airplane mode momentarily and then try to re-enable my Wi-Fi - then my Wi-Fi on/off button refuses to switch back to On and keeps switching itself back to Off.
The only solution at this point is to reboot the tablet.
I have tried "Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep - Always" and "Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep - Never"
I have tried "Disable powersave" in advance Wi-Fi options.
This is extremely frustrating as Archos upgraded me from a 101G9 because I had four devices each with different faults and now this!
Otherwise I'm happy with the tablet overall, it's far more responsive than the 101G9 and the coverboard is useful.
Does anyone have any idea why this could happen? Anyone else with similar problems? Anyone know a solution?
Try going into settings and selecting wifi never sleep. Worked on my 80g9.

Re: 101XS losing Wi-Fi after sleeping
Tried that Steve, make no difference unfortunately.

I fixed it by electing to turn Wi-Fi off when the tablet sleeps, which is annoying as I no longer get email alerts etc.
Hope for a fix in a later firmware...

[Q] Will toggling Wi-Fi on and off drain your battery?

Will toggling Wi-Fi on and off drain your battery? I'm asking this because I read:
http://www.androidcentral.com/android-101-save-battery-keeping-wifi-alive
Essentially, you want your Wi-Fi sleep policy to be "Never" because when the Wi-Fi sleep policy is "Always," your phone searches for Wi-Fi more often and that drains battery (I think that's what it is saying).
At the moment, I toggle the W-Fi on every time I'm using it and off as soon as I'm done using it in an attempt to save battery. I'm not sure if this actually works or it's actually draining my battery because it would search for Wi-Fi every time I toggle it on.
On my Samsung Galaxy S4, I can't find Wi-Fi sleep policy as mentioned in the article, but I found "Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep." Am I supposed to set this setting as "Always" to save battery life?
Thanks.
P.S.
I toggle Air View and Smart Gestures on a frequent basis as well--not sure if I should do that too.
keep wifi during sleep-always will drain your battery as even if u don't use your phone wifi will be still on
