I wouldn't think that a rooted phone would be worth more than a non-rooted phone. Having said that, though, the rooted phone may sell easier since the work to root it has already been done. It really depends on what the buyer wants. A power user would more likely be inclined to grab the rooted phone, while somebody else may or may not care. So long as both phones have clean ESN's you shouldn't have a problem selling either one.

Personally I always unroot my phones before selling them. My thought behind this is that the average Joe doesn't understand a rooted phone and may be scared or put off by it. Any techie that wants a rooted phone can probably just do it themselves. In my eyes you are eliminating potential customers who may be put off by the idea of a rooted phone. I don't think of rooted as a selling point. Just my thoughts.

I just put my s-off evo on craigslist.. Trying to trade for the gs3.. I just got a hit too Sucks cause i love HTC phones so much.. Every smartphone i ever had was HTC but im so sick of the way they treat the dev community.. I main reason im wanting to trade is kernel source.. Making us wait months for it is BS.. By the time they post it it will be no good cause there will be a new update out 3 days later.. Its crazy how many people i have seen on line jump ship to sammy because of this.. HTC needs to get there ishh together.. lol watch my luck ill go threw with the trade and HTC will release kernel source for the LTE 2 days later!! hahaha Ill be pissed!

I remember "feeding the panda" but I'm not sure if that made it s-off. I will have to check when I get home.. I had the Evo 4g, Evo 3d, and Evo LTE. All were rooted. That's why I am unsure.

I'm in Austin, and I am SERIOUSLY considering getting rid of my Evo 3D as is thanks to the Carrier IQ scandal.
I've got it S-OFF'd and a clean ESN, and I still have the box and all accessories that came with it. The only things wrong with it are a slight scratch on the paint at the right edge of the glass - the glass is fine, but the metal on the case shows (not even a centimeter long and only on the edge of the paint).
If you'd be interested, I'd meet you at a Sprint store and swap the bugger over - I'd even unroot/S-ON it first too if you liked (HBOOT 1.4)
OT - you worked at BBY? I'm Double Agent 3812, from precincts 216 and 291, then 204 in Austin. Even through I'm Disavowed, good to see another Agent out here.

Its on almost all of sprints phones including sgs2.... only phones that don't have it are iPhones and a few Flip phones .... carrier IQ is no reason to switch. To a phone that has the same thing on it....
Btw the epic touch sucks.... I would never go back to the always hardware borked Samsung devices

In my store I'm the only one that knows about rooting ans such and everyone else cares less. They just want phone to work or they have iPhones. Like I said I was flashed to Boost. All I did was whipped out the donor phone.
Well I just relocked my phone and am currently running the updates to get it back to stock. I figured going stock for a week might make me appreciate the awesomeness of the Evo LTE that much more.
I lost my Amaze at school today and Asurion is going to send me a One S since the Amaze is no longer in stock.You guys have helped me a ton and brought me to where I am now! If it wasn't for my Amaze and me doing a million and one warranty exchanges, I would never of had learned how to make my toolkits!

Actually, it's a nice phone. I notice the speed difference between this and the Amaze. This responds much quicker. I just wish it can take an SD Card. I'm probably gonna end up selling it when there is a new HTC phone that has an SD slot.

So I don't know if anyone else is thinking about getting this phone, it has caught my interest. I went to the Sprint site to see what's going on there, and they are advertising it as coming soon. I went to check my upgrade eligibility and then looked at current phones they have. To my surprise the OG Evo is selling higher than the LTE with 2-year contract. To top it off the OG is preowned. That's crazy right?
Anyways, what's everyone think of the new HTC phone?

I have neither, and I guess they priced them differently for upgrade pricing. I checked again and it is cheaper if you sign up as a new customer. I never post on these forums but I thought maybe someone would be interested in some nerd discussion. Yea. Samsung phones have always felt cheaper to me. The interface is definitely nothing compared to sense. The only things that turn me away from the One, is that it doesn't have an expandable sd slot. Then again, neither does my iPod and I never run out of space on that. Then again, it is an Apple product. I'd like to know which developers are going to the One, that could also be a sway. Imagining Viper on it, I think HTC should hire some of our developers to perfect the interface.

Real question is does The One replace the Evo branding. I don't believe HTC would make Sprint or any carrier specific variant of The One. This is exactly what they are trying to get away from. They want 1 device on every carrier that they can market the crap out of(ala galaxy). What do you guys think about that? I love my EVO LTE, I think its superior to the GS3 and I love having a phone that people ask "what the heck is that" because it looks different. Is this the end of the EVO or just going to delay the EVO launch until the luster of The One is over??

If HTC sticks to the whole one phone for all carriers (which they would be smart to do so). Then there is no more Evo.
Maybe the Evo isn't dead yet.. What if that new Butterfly S that was suppose to be the next DNA is coming to sprint? It's got the right colors to be an Evo. Happy I didn't use up my upgrade yet.

What good is 'BoomSound' without a kickstand to watch videos or other media??

With Sprint already having the "one" i dont see the point?
Most likely polycarbonate, 5" screen, proper buttons, s800 and maybe an SD card.. I'd ditch the One in a heartbeat.

It's definitely gonna be a nice phone! I owned the Evo 4G, still have my Evo 3D with about 6 extra batteries , and still have 2 Evo LTE (1 in each color). That said, I could care less if it has the Evo name or not, to be honest, I don't care if it's named HTC Turd! Lol. A name is just that, a name. It has nothing to do with the phones features and functionality! If it doesn't have an sd card slot then I won't even consider it! The One is a huge disappointment to me with no sd card slot and only a 4.7" display! That's why I now have a Note 2. I wanted a bigger display and gotta have an sd card slot! After 6 or 7 years of nothing but HTC phones, this Samsung is a very nice change(NEVER thought I would EVER say that)! It's nice to not have to worry about s-off/unlocking the bootloader, since Samsung doesn't lock their sh1t down like HTC does!! Oh, also nice being able to swap batteries again! One of the first things I did was order an extra battery! Almost forgot how awesome it was being able to swap batteries in my Evo 4G and Evo 3D!!

This is terrible imo... While I like the evo line I think that HTC made the right move having one phone rather than several. It has increased sales and spurred development.

I actually agree. When I first saw thus, I felt as though HTC was going back on their word to deliver One device (pun intended.)

HTC Evo 4G LTE
Well the One doesn't have LTE800 and it's going to start popping up soon so I'm ready to have a phone with both LTE bands ready to go. (assuming that this is all true and if the Butterfly S does in fact have the correct radios for LTE 1900+800).The One on Sprint has such a crappy antenna design when it comes to LTE and 1X...I didn't use my upgrade on it so I'm ok with the switch if need be.

Thank you for this. Just made my decision yo get the One easier. I was worried about snap 800 right around the corner, and honestly, I think this butterfly device is butt ugly and screen too big.
