Hi,
I am reading through this forum since yesterday but found nothing related to my problem.
I tried to install Jelly beam on htc amaze, first i unlocked the boot loader it went fine.
Then I tried to root the phone but I can't do it.
Then reading through one guide (jelly beam installation guide)
It says turn of phone and and restart using volume down and power button to go to recovery i did it.
Then it says to factory reset, i did and wiped all data also, then it says to install rom from sd card, I did and it went successfully.
But after that when i turn on the phone it is only showing htc green logo, but now the battery is over and it is not even showing logo.
Phone is completely off, and not doing anything, except when i connect it to computer its charging light just blink but does not charge.
What should be my next step to make the phone working?
thank you
What recovery are you using? Are u s-on or s-off? Was your phone already on ICS or still on gb?

I don't know how to check recovery or don't know what recovery is.
But I just unlocked the bootloader and nothing else.
Then i guess my phone is s-off, because it only say unlocked on recovery (when i turn on using volume down and power button)
and my phone was not booting up because of battery now i've charged the battery, but i dont know what to do to fix.
at this time i can go to recovery, but dont know what to do.
and I'm not on anything because i factory reset phone, and it dont load gb or ics. so i dont know if its ics or gb, also i tried to install 2-3 custom roms and they did not worked.
also my phone is not rooted too.
let me know.
thank you
Ok well first off I really recommend you do some reading and learn what these things are and what your doing before you just start changing things...
Go download this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1493905 and use it to flash a custom recovery, make sure to select 4ext as the recovery you want to install. You will need to do this before you can do anything else

Woah... Slow down bud, this is not the way you flash an ruu. These are the steps to flash a custom rom. You really need to read through the stickied threads and become a little more informed on what you are doing, before you try doing it.

So I recently rooted my sprint evo 3d by the hoot 1.50 method. that was all great until using the flash gui app i flashed a bad rom. ever since then, when I turn on my evo 3d only the white screen shows with the green htc letters, after that it goes to a black screen with the backlight still on and the buttons still lit. I have pulled out the battery multiple times and have even pressed the volume down and power button and have wiped cache and stuff, but still no luck. Please help! I CAN NOT be bricked or I will be screwed. thank you
Try flashing another rom, no? Do you have a nandroid you could restore?
Sent by Logo the turtle
I haven't tried flashing another rom, what rom should I flash? I'm totally new to rooting hah. And no I do not have a nandroid I could restore
If none of the answers people are going to post you could always restore back to stock using RUU.

If you are having issues with your current ROM. You could always run the ROM Upgrade Utility (RUU) found in the link below.
http://bit.ly/u3pMEN
Make sure to download the correct file.
(RUU_Shooter_S_Sprint_WWE_2.17.651.5_Radio_1.06.00 .1216)
After it has finished downloading. Re-lock your phone.
Then run the RUU.exe
This will take you back to the Stock HTC 2.17.651.5 ROM.
DO NOT DISCONNECT YOUR DEVICE DURING THE PROCESS. IT COULD BRICK YOUR DEVICE.
Remember this will delete all your current data/apps so use TWRP on the android market to back up all your downloaded content. Only if your going to unlock you device again because you need to root your phone to use TWRP.

We've all been there and doesn't sound like you are screwed so you can probably relax.....lol. Flashing another rom should work since you don't have a nanddroid backup. Just follow the developers instructions exactly for which ever rom you choose. Also since on h-boot 1.5 you need to flash rom in fastboot not in flash image gui. That will only extract the kernel from the rom.
The only way I have ever flashed roms (yes it is monotonous, but it works) is using adb/fastboot. I would try sticking a different rom on your sd card and then booting into bootloader by holding vol - and power. once in that screen hit fastboot and then plug it into a computer. since you unlocked using the HTC method you kind of know what to do with this. find your android tools folder with your adb, fastboot, and recovery files in it. hold shift and right click the folder to open a command window here. once open type 'fastboot boot "nameofyourrecovery".img'. once this is done flash your rom and you should be okay. if not, download the 2.17 ruu exe and run it from your computer like said above.
hey i've never rooted a phone before and i'm having a hard time finding out how to do this,,
i have the shooter_u, s-on, hboot 1.53.0007, eMMC-boot, RADIO-11.25.3504.06_M.
is there a way to root it, if not when will it be possible and is there anything else i can do with it like flash custom ROM etc? :fingers-crossed:
htcdev
go to htcdev(dot)com/bootloader/ and click on the right "Begin Unlock Bootloader"
u will need to register.. imput some random information all will be ok

Now you only unlocked the bootloader, which is not rooting.
OP.
After you did the above, you have to flash a custom recovery and flash superuser 3.x.x for ICS.
Look around, plenty of topics that answer your question.

The only issue with s-on is that the ICS ROMs tend to bootloop for most people. I recommend you get s-off. See the stickies in the Evo3d GSM development thread for more help with that.

Hey, i've got a major problem with the mwakious3DromĀ® rom, i followed the wrong steps and installed the newest version straight away through recovery, and now when i turn on the evo 3d it stays on the white screen with green letters 'HTC' forever, it never goes off.
i've tried factory reset but it's of no use; also tried restoring it through a nandroid backup i think, through recovery from jus tafter i rooted but it takes long on the 'restoring boot image' part and once that part's done the other things take place except for 'ext-sdcard' or something, ]it still dosen't work and stays on htc logo when turned on.
I thought i may be able to install a different ROM so i downloaded evolver3D2.3, however when conencted through usb cable from evo 3d to the pc, the 'removable disk (j' shows up but when clicked on it replies ' please insert a disk into removable disk(j', it dosen't let me go onto my sdcard so i cant copy the files.
When i go onto fastboot and have the usb connected the 'fastboot usb' does show up on the 3d so there's still hope i can do something from there but i really don't know where to start and i'm afraid if i've bricked it; have i or is it fixable?
Please, please help me, i would be so grateful
edit : btw, i have the anryl kernel 30.09 if this could be helpful.
First dont worry everything is fixable at xda second i will try to help u as much as i can if ur memory card isnt readable anymore , put mwakious 3D rom 11 the base one on another sd card and boot into recovery and do a full wipe and flash it and to flash thr patches make a full boot then reboot to recovery wipe cache and dalvik cache and flash the update i rly dont know what happened to that sd card and if that didnt work search for OTA ics ruu and flash it in bootloader and then s-off that hboot 1.53.007 trust me its easy and its way easier to flash roms and to avoid bootloops
Hit the thanks button if i helped

If you can remove the sd card and plug it in to your computer directly, you can check to make sure it is working properly (and copy the ROM over at the same time). If you can boot into recovery from fastboot, then you can flash the ROM. If not, you'll have to push a new recovery through your computer.

hey guys, i fixed the problem by popping the sdcard in a blackberry and connecting it, afer a while it started to work so i installed the evolver32 rom. anyways it was workng perfectly BUT wifi dosen't work. so i thought wifi may not work only on that rom, however i installed the mwakious3DromĀ® rom and when i click wifi it says error and theres no wifi connection.. could this be due to me not getting s-off or do they just do that on 1.53.007 ?
I think no wifi is a symptom of a bad kernel flash due to being s-on. So I think being s-off and flashing again might help.

First of all you need to ditch twrp and flash 4ext recovery, especially if u are s-on. Then reflash the custom Rom of your choice, not an ruu.
I'm guessing u meant to say RUU where u said RRI files. To flash an ruu u would flash it through bootloader and would have to have a locked bootloader to do it.

here's a way to return to stock RUU, you need the all-in-one toolkit from hasoon2000
download this file Here and rename it to PH85IMG.zip (this file is for ICS) the older one for GB didnt work for me
use the "Relock Bootloader" command on hasoon's toolkit to relock your bootloader (i received a security warning when doing so, but still worked)
place the PH85IMG.zip file on the root of your SD Card
turn off device and remove the battery. Reinsert the battery then simultaneously hold the volume down and power buttons (to boot fastboot)
Fastboot will detect the image file on your external storage. After it loads, accept the "update" - this will revert you to stock (including recovery and radio).

simple solution
Step 1: Boot phone into bootloader by removing battery then placing battery back in phone then turning phone on by holding VOL down and Power button
Step 2: use hansoons AIO toolkit while in bootloader to flash 4EXT recovery
Step 3: boot into recovery and use 4EXT's to mount your phone to the PC using their "toggle USB storage" feature which lets you access your SD card while in recovery
Step 4: place another ROM on your phone, and then disconnect phone from PC
Step 5: do a full system wipe before you flash new rom, Format DATA SYSTEM CACHE+DELVIK
Step 6: FLASH Rom you placed on SD CARD previously
Step 7: After flashing rom successfully go back into 4ext recovery or download 4ext recovery control, and make a NANDROID backup in-case you fk **** up later or again

yes you can flash any custom ICS/JB rom as long as your using 4EXT recovery with smart flash enabled with S-ON.. but i'm not sure if there's any JB rom's for the amaze with DATA working, CM9/10 AOKP all have problems with the data , if you want JB you might have to go with JB ICS themed rom.. like Fourth Bar Infusion.. i think Speed Rom also..
The phone has been running flawlessly for a while and now randomly it won't boot up, or when it does it hits the HTC boot screen and shuts back off. Any suggestions? The charging light comes sometimes, even after the battery is pulled. I have tried different batteries but to no avail.

yes 4ext comes with the toolkit, and s-on lets you flash different radio's and stock ruu's for other carries.. it makes it easier to rewrite the protected system partitions of the phone.. and sorry to hear about that, maybe you can look online for ways to fix a corrupted hboot or bootloader

The S3 is 10x easier when it comes to rooting and flashing. This one was a pain for me. Toolkit at the time was still in very early stages so it was somewhat hard, and drivers were having problems as well.
On another update the phone appears to be booting to the HTC bootscreen and then freezing up. What's bad is I can't control the reboot, meaning I can't put it into bootloader.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2048229
1. download
2. mount the phone to your PC via usb cable
3. go into twrp and press mount then press mount usb storage
4. move MeanBean to your sdcard
5. press unmount
6. go back to the main twrp page select advance wipe if on 2.5.0.0 and select all except OTG or if on an earlier version press wipe and wipe (cache/dalvik cache/system/factory reset)
7. go back to main twrp page an click install and find MeanBean and swipe to flash
8. don't freak out it will take a bit to boot fully

Cool glad you got it going
My next suggestion is to get S-OFF using Moonshine and you could downgrade the touch panel drivers and run CM if you wanted
