[Q] Android Tablet Reverse Tethering

I have a [rooted] novo 7 Basic (running android 3.2) that I need to reverse tether to an ubuntu machine - through USB
Because this tablet (and other tablets) are not 'phones' - they don't have a native tethering option (which is required for most of the reverse tethering examples that are out there)
I can work with the device through adb - tried setting up a tunnel but I can't get any usb interface to show up with ifconfig
Any thoughts? Maybe there is a way to just do it through abd with some ubuntu network configuration?
Many Thanks.

Hi.
I think more information is needed here.
For instance, what kind of database? Postgresql, sqllite, MS Access?
Secondly, are you looking to write an android app for this or just trying to read data from the laptop natively?

[Q] SMART TV ANDROID - TCL 55" 4K Ultra - How to ROOT

Hi Guys and Gals, I am new to the forums so please bear with me.
I just got a 4K TV with Android and I can't install Google play and any other .apk's on it. The stock browser does not allow downloads of this type. Accessing Google play on the browser works but no downloads/installation.
Side loading is a problem too for the media browser is limited only to Audio/Video/Images.
The stock "App Store" has limited apps and no other similar apps for web browsing, basically a walled garden.
My first question is, how can I install apk's on a seemingly limited android interface.? As I see it, I have 2 options:
1. "ROOT" it? - How would one go about rooting if I can't access anything.
2. Change the stock Android into a full fledged Android OS - How do I do this?
2nd Question, Is there a dedicated group that Hacks/Roots SMART TV Android interfaces? If so, can someone direct me to that forum or site? I've searched the forums and I've only encountered Hacking and rooting Android TV dongles/boxes and nothing on SMART TVs android interfaces.
I hope you guys could help me out. I really dislike "walled gardens" and would like to be able to utilize the full potential of this Flat screen.
Thank you.

i tried this procedure, it works as well, just on the es file manager, we have to add an android TV with the TV IP address and port number 8090.
have fun.......
root?
Is there a method to root this TV? I tried installing SuperSU but it needs the binaries... I dont think we can access the Recovery in this TV.
If you have any info, please share... Also appreciate if you could redirect us to the Chinese Forum so I can try to look there as well.

but when i run the commandline adb connect TVSIPADDRESS:5555--- I think you have to put the IP Address of the TV here(192.168.x.x)
ES FILE Explorer is the best option to install apk files.

Guys,
As what they mentioned(previous thread) if you really want to install apps
Use the Es File Explorer.
Make sure TV and your phone are in the same network
On the Android Phone pull up Es File Explorer
Left Pane, scroll down and expand network
locate android tv and tap it
a pop-up window will appear
asking for the ip address of the android tv
port field, you can leave it to default which is 5555
display as field will be the description
once its properly configured tv icon will appear on the android tv option
tap it, go to application folder
if its your first time it will install the es file explorer itself
then you can start installing apk files(got COC in my tv )
just click install at the bottom left
then just locate the download folder where the downloaded file is.
THIS WILL NOT ROOT YOUR ANDROID TV.
Have you rooted yours already?
