Dear XDA,
I have a 7" Kindle Fire HD and I have been searching exhaustively for an .apk for the free Patch Places Android app released by my employer.
Have only been able to find the app in Google's marketplace and I don't have access to that with any other device. Not interested in rooting my Fire at this time, so I need something I can try to sideload.
It's a free app, so if someone can post an .apk, I'd appreciate it!
Because I'm a n00b here, it won't let me post the marketplace link, but if you go to www dot patch dot com slash mobile, you should be able to find a link, or just search the marketplace and I believe the icon is of a street sign.

Thanks! Looks like it's not compatible, but at least now I know! I'll just stick with the iPhone app, which is more fleshed out.

Posted this in the general Android forum but no one's helped so hopefully my fellow X10'ers can take 2 minutes and do this:
Can someone in the US download and post the free Google TV Remote (released 2010/12/16) APK?

I tried to install it from Astro, but it said cannot parse the file.
also getting the Unable to Parse File error on CM7.1 with Nexus S.
Can someone else try uploading it?
can we get a new source, seeings as MegaUpload has bit the dust?
This is an old thread, but I needed the APK and it took my like half an hour to track it down.
So here it is for anyone else looking for it on XDA, no parse errors or anything like some other ones floating around.
It looks like Google TV Remote was updated to version 1.1.0 today.
Changelog:
1. Voice search support for Google TV 3.0.
2. Replaced the swiping D-pad to the normal D-pad.
3. Added Accessibility.
4. Added D-Pad Navigation.
However it's not available outside the US. I'm in Canada and unable to download it on the Galaxy Nexus, even though Google TV boxes are being sold here. If anyone would be kind enough to pull the APK and post it, that'd be much appreciated!
Thanks
Hi All,
I could really do with the latest also as the UK don't have access either and I've just gotten one of the MK808B's through this morning.
Thanks

If you want the kindle, here's how using linux, works with latest WebOS.
1. Download & install the Palm SDK for linux
2. Just download the app file here.
http://bayfiles.com/file/RB7/oE4hSN/com.palm.app.kindle_0.11.499820_all.ipk
Go to the folder you downloaded and type this command while connected with usb cable to your touchpad, or just install the app any other way you know how.
palm-install com.palm.app.kindle_0.11.499820_all.ipk
Thank you, works perfectly. I put the ipk in my dropbox and installed it with preware without bothering with usb. It also syncs with the Amazon.co.uk accounts without a complaint.
Kindle App still available
As per title,I have searched everywhere, googled it.It was once available but i cannot for the life of me find out to where to download it from.
Any ideas?
Thanks
It has been withdrawn in Europe ( I think) but the US beta version can be had. If I remember correctly I downloaded it from webosbuzz and loaded it using webOS quick install through my desktop. You can still use a UK Amazon account to buy books despite the way the app was obtained. I'm not at home just now so I can't confirm that's where I got it but if you can't find it there post again and I'll double check.
I can't find the .ipk on the site you mentioned. If it's allowed (surely it must if it's a free app) would someone be able to post the updated .ipk on here?
This is the link to where I found it. XDA doesn't seem to allow me to upload it directly
http://www.filesonic.com/file/1779584324/Kindle.ipk
If that won't take you straight there then the link was from Webosbuzz within the HP touchpad apps forum. That particular forum is private so you have to creat an account.
Good luck.
Ps the app seems to work ok. I have been able to get books from Amazon uk- no sideloading though.
Found the newest version: http://hotfile.com/dl/128523150/76e47a4/com.palm.app.kindle_0.11.499820_all.ipk.html
The page turning makes all the difference.
cheers, I'll try that later.

I found this version much buggier than the 0.10.494660 version - it tends to give a blank white screen much more regularly than the older version gives a blank grey screen!
thanks dude, precentral keeps taking down the ipk everytime someone posts it

That is quite some high horse your sitting on fella. It is easy for you to say that when you live in a land where the kindle app has not been withdrawn. Us euro users just want the same services that you have, after all we did pay more for our touchpads than you guys ever did.
It's not theft, it is digital liberation.

Hi,
Very new to WP having just arrived from Android ICS. One thing I am having difficulty with is finding Amazon Kindle for this phone. Is it out there, does anyone know? Amazon says on their home-page that they support WP7, but Marketplace is very uncooperative here. I have a TON of Kindle books that I' read on all my Android devices. Please don't ell me I can't get at them from this most modern smart phone?!????
/M

The kindle app is on the market place, I have kindle on this phone and on my pc. What I am struggling with is how to sync my books on my pc with my phone, without going through kindle as I have loads of dwn loaded books, not through kindle.

Op
Hello,
Thanks for answering. It certainly isn't on my Marketplace. Are there national differences in what's being offered on different Marketplaces? If so, is there a way to get around that?
Cheers/M
Hi
Press market place.... Then at the bottom of the screen the magnifying glass / search option... Type in kindle..
Hope that helps
Regards
Op
Yes, thanks. Been there, done that..... abslutely no Amazon Kindle for me there. Marketplace is suggestiong things like "Optical Illusions" and "Scream Machine"... not really wht I'm looking for, though.
But you're saying that you have Kindl running on a Nokia WP7.5 phone, anyway? If tat's the case then I guess I have to start digging elsewhere. Perhaps talk to Amazon and see what they have to suggest.
Thanks anyway/M
Hi
Sorry, I can't help anymore.. Good luck

In holland here I can see the Kindle app, but then it will not install because of 'wrong region'. I can use it on my Galaxy tab in Holland without problems.
I have used it with a different hotmail (US based) account previously.
No idea why that is, maybe if you contact Amazon they can resolve it.
I am using a Kindle (non touch) anyway so its not urgent for me.
I believe Kindle is region specific.....
Will
the attachment is the qr code for that zune url thingy, just use bing vision should send you straight there
its a terrible app tho, imo much worse than facebook before the update.
even so hope it helps and make sure you review it and tell them how bad it is

Seems to be. Searched Kindle here in Finland and it's not finding it.
Tried the barcode as well and it indeed opens the app on Marketplace, but the app is not downloadable in here.
Have a look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=908293
This might be helpful.
so there's a free book on Play Store about making photos with Android smartphones:
The basics, and I do mean basics, are covered here. The book opens with a description of the best way to hold a phone for both horizontal and vertical pictures, and while this may seem obvious to some users, there's no shame in admitting if your picture-taking form could use some work.
This book is written with the Nexus line of products in mind, and it's geared towards users running Android 4.2.2 or higher. If you have a Nexus 4 and are moving over from an HTC or Samsung product, this is a good way to get familiar with the latest version of the stock Android app. Brown provides pictures and goes through all of the app's options. Once you've taken your photo, there are sections dedicated to both sharing it and editing it using third-party applications such as Snapseed.

Hi
This is for my autistic son please help.
I have a youtube clone app ( called Vtube) on my old kindle that my son uses to access youtube. Today the app seems to have big problems with the search function working and as far as I can tell its because youtube have changed the URL of the mobile version of the website. Thus finctionality has been limited on the old url.
But the URL is hard coded into this older app.
I know what the new URL is. Is there any way I can break into the app (developers no longer contactable through amazon or internet as far as I can tell) in order to change the simple URL line please?
I am really hopeful there is a developer software that will access the app, then I just need to change that one line.
Is this possible please?
My sons autism means its VERY difficult for him to change, so accessing it via a browser is a no-no sadly.
Please help.
Sorry for bumping this but I didnt know I posted it in the wrong section and then it was kindly moved by a mod but because of time is well off the front page so nobody would see it here in the right place. So just bumping sorry.
