[INFO+TUT]Get CID and RUU 1.18.401.1 Compatibility - HTC Desire X

OK, because there are too many people wanting to use RUU RUU_PROTO_U_ICS_40A_HTC_Europe_1.18.401.1_Radio_10.21.40.06U_1.10.40.23_release_295191.exe here is the list of compatible CIDs extracted from RUU android-info.txt:
cidnum: HTC__001 - HTC-WWE
cidnum: HTC__E11 - HTC-Dutch
cidnum: HTC__203 - HTC-FRA
cidnum: HTC__102 - HTC-GER
cidnum: HTC__405 - HTC-ITA
cidnum: HTC__Y13 - HTC-Nor
cidnum: HTC__M27 - HTC-Turkey
cidnum: HTC__J15 - HTC-GCC (Gulf Council Countries see post #9, I finally got it )
cidnum: HTC__032 - HTC-EastEurope
cidnum: HTC__A07 - HTC-Russia
cidnum: HTC__304 - HTC-SPA
cidnum: HTC__016 - HTC-??? (should be WWE Africa)

And how to get your CID? You need ADB platform tools installed, to be precise fastboot. Reboot your phone to fastboot and issue command from command prompt:
fastboot getvar cid
Click to collapse
And there you have it, compare to the list and see if your phone is compatible.

easier Terminal write getprop ro.cid

Thanks nloooooo , I'm HTC_032, and so are you, so we're on the horse...

Currently nowhere.
If there is an JB update I hope that it will be RUU, not OTA, and I hope that HTC will do the same thing like thay did for Desire and IncS with the same RUU for all regions.

Good job pointing this out in a seperate thread. Seems like some users try an RUU without knowing the CID's have to match.
In addition you can also find out the CID of the phone with the app 'CID getter' from google play. Works like a charm.

Thank you for the info.
So I have two devices one is CID ORANG216 and other T-MOB101, which means this stock ROM would not work for me.
Any way via unlock, root .... to get those unbranded RUU_PROTO_U_ICS_40A_HTC_Europe_1.18.401.1_Radio_10.21.40.06U_1.10.40.23_release_295191_signed.exe

I found out what GCC means:
Gulf Council Countries:
-Saudi Arabia,
-Kuwait,
-Bahrain,
-Qatar,
-The United Arab Emirates,
-The Sultanate of Oman and
-The Republic of Yemen.

There are plenty of different CIDs. And there are RUUs for them
Some CIDs are bundled together in groups. An RUU works for all the CIDs in that group.
For example, my CID is 044, and VODAP022 but the main CID is 044. More info can be taken from ckpv5 as he has lot of experience with it.

Just relock your bootloader and run the RUU.

Just above you said it will 'ofcourse it will' now you are saying it won't?? @ckpv5

Because first you said your main CID is 001, for that, ruu works.
Then you show picture that it's 044. For that. Ruu doesn't work.
Say one thing. Get one answer.

[Q] One X+ T-Mobile UK no IMEI

Quite right I am a NOOB with my humble apologies.
I wanted to install LeeDroid to my HOX+
I unlocked the bootloader, that was fine.
I then wanted to root so used RootBootV5 which did appear to work?
For some reason I thought I might need to install CWN-SuperSU-v0.87 but when I tried to boot into recovery got a RED TRIANGLE.
I'm now sat with a phone thats unaware of its IMEI cant connect to WIFI and ultimately displeasing to use, as I cant.
Please can any person prod me in the right direction to returning to stock or even getting the LeeDroid to work??
your problem is you used root boot which is completely the incorrect way to do this, you need to re-ruu and root properly this time.
There is no LeeDroid for the HOX+ is there?

I have had no luck in finding a stock rom for the HOX+ T-Mobile UK
and the LeeDroid I was looking at is an app that requires root and not the rom

What CID do you have?
You can check by booting to fastboot and running `fastboot getvar cid`
if it's any of these you need the Europe RUU:
cidnum: HTC__001
cidnum: HTC__E11
cidnum: HTC__102
cidnum: HTC__032
cidnum: HTC__Y13
cidnum: HTC__J15
cidnum: HTC__M27
cidnum: HTC__203
cidnum: HTC__A07
cidnum: HTC__016

Get S-off and you can do whatever you want - that's the whole point.
There are several different methods on XDA that will tell you how - just search for them.
Use BabyRacun to downgrade.

How would someone do either with a soft-brick?
I have a the same situation now with a soft bricked stock, never unlocked, never rooted, OTA 3.16.651.3... Without a 3.16.651.3 jewel RUU which is nowhere to be found, I can't figure out a way to flash this thing. Nothing but fastboot is functional on the phone in it's current state. Every approach I have tried ends in some broken dependency or version/signature hurdle.

I'm in a similar situation with a phone I'm trying to fix for someone. Phone is on the latest OTA, unlocked & S-on. Phone will not boot to the OS. Removed the SD card and I've pushed TWRP recovery to the phone via fastboot, but upon trying to enter recovery the phone reboots to the HTC splash screen, and cycles in an endless loop until I get into the bootloader. Also tried a factory reset, which causes the phone to reboot to the splash screen. No way to S-off at this point:banghead:

I don't download/test it but as per the RUU no. x.xx.708.x it is for Hong Kong only CID HTC__622 and the 1.14 means the hboot is 1.20
HTC__038 - you need 1.18.720.x (hboot 1.24)
HTC__044 - you need 1.18.707.x (hboot 1.24)

It's something that is controlled from the hboot which read the android-info.txt in each RUU/OTA
For EU they have a few CIDs in its android-info.txt and for India only HTC__038, Hong Kong only HTC__622 but for x.xx.707.x there are two HTC__044 and VODAP022
You can see this info in the build.prop too.

why are people so obsessed with this (not meant offensively)? it does nothing and more importantly proves nothing, recognised developer/contributor/themer/howmuchmorearethere tag is way better, are thanks a way to get this tag? that would explain a lot.

Hi navmad,
Thanks for your PM. I've had a look through my entire collection and emailed a few friends, but unfortunately I haven't been able to uncover the RUU that you were looking for. In the end I resorted to the old faithful method of Google to see if I'd missed anything, but instead of finding an RUU - I ended up landing here instead
As RUU's for this device seem so hard to come by, perhaps it might be an idea to ask around to see if anyone has a stock nandroid backup and recovery image your CID instead? Although I'm not active in the Desire X forum, I'd be happy to host any backups to ensure that people have easy access to the files. It was just a thought.
Sorry that I couldn't be more help.
Bugsy.
Anyone here got any !dea when will there be a RUU for 044 CID?

How to manually flash the appropriate OTA file ?
I tried by going through stock recovery and choosing ' install update from internal storage'.
but it fails with an error .
My CID is HTC_J15
Can you also post a link for Stock RUU - 1.18.415.1 or 1.18.415.3. This is required for Arabic stock ROM for Desire X

HTC-016 , how can i active FARSI/ARABIC language (for original keyboard) on my un_rooted phone? please help me
Thanks in advance
VODA-Africa-South CID...
I don't have a possibility to try it, but only way (I think) to use Farsi on android with non-Arabic non-root firmware is installing Farsi Nevis Keyboard ftom Google Play. It's quite old app (October 2011) and may not work, but I don't know other solution.
If you root your device, read this. There is all you need.
@jolishj, could you help @ahmad94h to remove the red warning in HBOOT and transform these ZIP-Files into the same convenient format like you do for the Firmwares for HTC One? Would be great if they also don't erase all data. THANK YOU!
Always failed to flash OTA update zip through TWRP. And how to know what my CID?
Anyone please help...

You can't flash OTA.zip with TWRP or any custom recovery.
You only can install OTA.zip with Stock recovery.
And only S-Off device can do that. If your device is S-On, forget it then.
Download CID Getter from Play store and use that to know your CID

Yes. The firmware.zip always includes a stock recovery. The firmware zip was pulled from the OTA. I could have pulled out the recovery so it wouldn't overwrite but there a several S-ON phones out there that can't flash a modified firmware.zip file.

@Flyhalf205 How long before you have a version ready for the Verizon variant? with this coming from an actual One Max with mean we will be able to read our 64 gig memory cards again, nfc working, and all the little bugs that cm has on this phone?

I can read my 64GB card just fine? PM me about that. I have no ETA on a Verizon rom. I have no fix for the last problem which is no data when it shows there is data.
We can't using this device without your support. Thanks a lot :good:

So the wifi driver is still making life difficult for us Verizon owners I see. That must be one heck of a hard proprietary driver we have in these phones of ours. I would switch to cm12.1 and go for a sense 6 or sense 7 theme but for some reason or another the sound is not being produced as well on CM as it does for the stock HTC roms. Maybe it's just me but when I am using a few game apps I get a lot of these static crackle sounds instead of lovely explosions like I am accustomed to hearing when beats audio is working.

I may have to PM you about that then. I thought the only hold up on getting the m9 port to work on the Verizon variant was the wifi driver and no kernel source. If the wifi is working now with that release of the source does that mean that the m9 rom can now be ported over to the VZW One max? I'm totally confused now. Lol
lock/ unlock command
For no reason that I know of, the lock command doesn't work anymore, I get no error while issuing the command, but with no success at all...
Any idea ?
I am experiencing an error when I attempt to flash the firmware. The error message I receive is:
FAILED [remote: 41 model id check fail]
I have an unlocked HTC One Max International Edition. Here is the text from my Fastboot screen:
T6ULA PVT Ship S-Off RH
CID-BS_US001
HBOOT-2.49.0000
Radio-4T.27.3218.14
OpenDSP-v33.120.274_T6.0829
QSC-
OS-3.23.1540.1
According to the first post - my CID should be compatible with this firmware correct?
I am currently running FlyHalf's NuSenseSix Sense 6.0 4.13.401.7 Lollipop ROM
Thanks for the help

I changed my CID to HTC__001 and I still get the same error (remote: 41 model id check fail). Do I have to change the MID as well and if so - what do I need to change it to?
