Yes. The firmware.zip always includes a stock recovery. The firmware zip was pulled from the OTA. I could have pulled out the recovery so it wouldn't overwrite but there a several S-ON phones out there that can't flash a modified firmware.zip file.

@Flyhalf205 How long before you have a version ready for the Verizon variant? with this coming from an actual One Max with mean we will be able to read our 64 gig memory cards again, nfc working, and all the little bugs that cm has on this phone?

I can read my 64GB card just fine? PM me about that. I have no ETA on a Verizon rom. I have no fix for the last problem which is no data when it shows there is data.
We can't using this device without your support. Thanks a lot :good:

So the wifi driver is still making life difficult for us Verizon owners I see. That must be one heck of a hard proprietary driver we have in these phones of ours. I would switch to cm12.1 and go for a sense 6 or sense 7 theme but for some reason or another the sound is not being produced as well on CM as it does for the stock HTC roms. Maybe it's just me but when I am using a few game apps I get a lot of these static crackle sounds instead of lovely explosions like I am accustomed to hearing when beats audio is working.

I may have to PM you about that then. I thought the only hold up on getting the m9 port to work on the Verizon variant was the wifi driver and no kernel source. If the wifi is working now with that release of the source does that mean that the m9 rom can now be ported over to the VZW One max? I'm totally confused now. Lol
lock/ unlock command
For no reason that I know of, the lock command doesn't work anymore, I get no error while issuing the command, but with no success at all...
Any idea ?
I am experiencing an error when I attempt to flash the firmware. The error message I receive is:
FAILED [remote: 41 model id check fail]
I have an unlocked HTC One Max International Edition. Here is the text from my Fastboot screen:
T6ULA PVT Ship S-Off RH
CID-BS_US001
HBOOT-2.49.0000
Radio-4T.27.3218.14
OpenDSP-v33.120.274_T6.0829
QSC-
OS-3.23.1540.1
According to the first post - my CID should be compatible with this firmware correct?
I am currently running FlyHalf's NuSenseSix Sense 6.0 4.13.401.7 Lollipop ROM
Thanks for the help

And how to get your CID? You need ADB platform tools installed, to be precise fastboot. Reboot your phone to fastboot and issue command from command prompt:
fastboot getvar cid

And there you have it, compare to the list and see if your phone is compatible.
easier Terminal write getprop ro.cid

Currently nowhere.
If there is an JB update I hope that it will be RUU, not OTA, and I hope that HTC will do the same thing like thay did for Desire and IncS with the same RUU for all regions.
Good job pointing this out in a seperate thread. Seems like some users try an RUU without knowing the CID's have to match.
In addition you can also find out the CID of the phone with the app 'CID getter' from google play. Works like a charm.

There are plenty of different CIDs. And there are RUUs for them
Some CIDs are bundled together in groups. An RUU works for all the CIDs in that group.
For example, my CID is 044, and VODAP022 but the main CID is 044. More info can be taken from ckpv5 as he has lot of experience with it.

Just above you said it will 'ofcourse it will' now you are saying it won't?? @ckpv5
Because first you said your main CID is 001, for that, ruu works.
Then you show picture that it's 044. For that. Ruu doesn't work.
Say one thing. Get one answer.

Quite right I am a NOOB with my humble apologies.
I wanted to install LeeDroid to my HOX+
I unlocked the bootloader, that was fine.
I then wanted to root so used RootBootV5 which did appear to work?
For some reason I thought I might need to install CWN-SuperSU-v0.87 but when I tried to boot into recovery got a RED TRIANGLE.
I'm now sat with a phone thats unaware of its IMEI cant connect to WIFI and ultimately displeasing to use, as I cant.
Please can any person prod me in the right direction to returning to stock or even getting the LeeDroid to work??
your problem is you used root boot which is completely the incorrect way to do this, you need to re-ruu and root properly this time.
There is no LeeDroid for the HOX+ is there?

How to manually flash the appropriate OTA file ?
I tried by going through stock recovery and choosing ' install update from internal storage'.
but it fails with an error .
My CID is HTC_J15
Can you also post a link for Stock RUU - 1.18.415.1 or 1.18.415.3. This is required for Arabic stock ROM for Desire X
It will be really helpful.

VODA-Africa-South CID...
I don't have a possibility to try it, but only way (I think) to use Farsi on android with non-Arabic non-root firmware is installing Farsi Nevis Keyboard ftom Google Play. It's quite old app (October 2011) and may not work, but I don't know other solution.
If you root your device, read this. There is all you need.

You can't flash OTA.zip with TWRP or any custom recovery.
You only can install OTA.zip with Stock recovery.
And only S-Off device can do that. If your device is S-On, forget it then.
Download CID Getter from Play store and use that to know your CID
Hello all. I recently traded in my iphone 5 for an HTC one, and have been messing around with rooting, flashing, s-off, etc. I recently flashed a rooted gpe RUU running 4.3 (RUU-HTC_One_GE-3.06.1700.10_Rooted). The problem is, now I cant restore to the stock RUU. My information is below. When I run the command fastboot flash zip RUU.zip, I get the following error.

I would also like to point out that I thought maybe the supercid was giving me issues. I tried to change cid back to stock (CWS_001) and it says invalid cid. Tried multiple times to ensure there was no typo and still no luck.

It's cws__001 not cws_001

Changing to cid to stock did not help. Same error

Nevermind. Fixed it. Had to downgrade hboot to 1.44

Can you tell me how you did this? And point me to the files? I flashed the firmware and have the 3.06.1700.10 firmware, 1.54 hboot, and CleanROM 4.0.
I want to restore everything back to stock. I tried running RUU.exe and it failed. Can you point me to the files or help me out? (sorry - coming from an iphone 5 also)

If you have s-off, there are a few guides that will help you in the international forums of the htc one.
If you do not have s-off, its not really possible.... yet

Could you post a link to one? I've been trying to get my One back to stock for close to 8 hours now.

Like I mentioned above, I searched for hours and couldn't find a tutorial.
I finally just pulled HBOOT 1.44 from an RUU and flashed it through fastboot. Note that my One was S-Off and I had the Google Edition HBOOT 3.xx.
Here's HBOOT 1.44 that I used on my AT&T HTC One: https://www.dropbox.com/s/q5qntvr924lewul/firmware.zip
I believe the correct command is: fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
I'm not a newbie to messing with my phone, but I am confused about the recommendation for the latest CleanROM release. It says:
Recommend latest AT&T 1.26.502.15 Firmware for best results but other firmwares can be used.

The only thread I can find with that version (not just radios) is from Scott also, and it's just a rooted ROM. Which would be overwritten if I loaded CleanROM. So I searched for the difference between "ROM" and "Firmware" and in multiple places in this form it's said that ROMs are built on Firmware, and define the "Firmware" as Jelly Bean 4.2.2, etc. So CleanROM would be build on that Firmware ... and by flashing it I then have it. But that definition doesn't seem to fit with Scott's recommendation.
I'm completely confused.
Is this referring to a radio firmware?
What is the recommendation here, and how do I accomplish it??
I was wondering the same thing. I'm assuming it's best if you have software version .15, but you can also flash if you have .10 (like myself). I dl'ed the rom yesterday and am going to flash it today. By these instructions, flash .15, then flash CleanRom for best results?

ROMs are like the operating system and software applications.
Firmware is like the computer bios or drivers.
When devs say ROM is based on firmware x.xx, it means the software is built on the expectation that the firmware the phone is running will match. This is usually for best performance.
Like in Windows or any other operating system, you can run outdated drivers/firmware, but you won't be fully optimized or have the latest fixes.
For example, the latest firmwares contain an updated touch panel driver that makes touch response and accuracy better.
When I was on stock ROM and stock firmware, touch panel response was hit or miss, especially the home button. Newer firmware fixed that problem.
Flashing firmware requires either exact CID/MID match if s-on, or super CID if s-off.
Also, newer firmwares have updated hboot that blocks the s-off exploit from working.
Firmwares typically include newer radios, newer hboot, newer touch panel drivers, and system partition updates. Not all firmwares will have new updates for each item each time.

Here is the 1.26.502.15 AT&T firmware >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=44260480&postcount=95
Read the requirements for S-OFF and you'll be fine

Flashing this should change the build number to 1.26.502.15? I just flashed and the build number is still 2.24 but the radio did change.
Where are you checking the build number at? From the bootloader?
If your checking from about /software/more/build it's wrong that's the rom version

I was checking it from the about section (guess it would help if i looked in the right spot). (Now to make me feel like a NOOB) Where on the bootloader is it located, I see hboot and radio but nothing concerning the build number, Im sure its probably staring me in the face:cyclops:
