No reviews? That should tell you everything...

The paid version just came out. They have a free version but it only charges 15 percent faster. That has reviews
Charging your battery faster is not recommended as it can shorten your battery life. Basically over time what it says is 100% will be 99% and it will keep going down. If you have an old phone you know that this is true because battery is much shorter.

It may not be placebo. It is possible to charge faster but there are many adverse side effects.
By not doing any trickle charging and keeping the flow continual it will charge faster. On an iPhone for example it fast charges to 80 then trickles to 100 this app could just fast charge to 100 and not trickle charge.
Don't use this app.

You need kernel modification to do that.

You would need to override kernel functions and at the very least the app would require root. The paid app requires no permissions.
Assuming that its just an unlock key (seems unlikely as its only slightly smaller than the free version which accounts for lack of ads), the permissions are suspect there, but no mention of root access.
The permissions on the free app are concerning too:
Permissions
THIS APPLICATION HAS ACCESS TO THE FOLLOWING:
NETWORK COMMUNICATION
FULL NETWORK ACCESS
YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
WRITE WEB BOOKMARKS AND HISTORY
READ YOUR WEB BOOKMARKS AND HISTORY
PHONE CALLS
READ PHONE STATUS AND IDENTITY
Assuming the permissions are all for ads, the pro version's permissions (or lack thereof) are telling of it being fake.
I haven't installed it, and just maybe the guy is a genius and figured out something. However it sounds very unlikely to me.
I am not alone apparently.
Out of the four most recent comments, 3 question the app's usefulness.
Mahesh Gole - January 27, 2013 - Samsung Galaxy S2
Battery performance as usual
Nt bad
Deven Mali - January 27, 2013 - Version 1.1
Good
Good but 15% charging in free version doesn't seen effectively.and setting option is not working.
asif iqbal - January 27, 2013 - Samsung Galaxy S2 with version 1.2
Trashy
Did nothing but adding some unwanted shortcuts, bookmarks and widgets. It's of no use.
From what I understand of Android, the kernel completely controls the charge rate (even when turned off). An app can interface the kernel, if the kernel is modified for it, and root is used.
So to conclude:
App is fake.
Do not use a battery charge booster of any kind regardless as it can cause problems.

I don't understand why I'm getting such awful battery life; I've heard such good things about AOSP as far as battery life is concerned. I've got screen on auto, and I used incredicontrol to set my governor (I think that's what it is called) to conservative. Can anyone help me dissect the problem?

How long was your screen on? If 1.5 hours or so, I would say your close to normal depending on what you were doing.
Get Better Battery Stats and see how long your phone is in Deep Sleep..and if not very long, you can see what is keeping it awake..
I didn't use it at all; I checked it after first block and it had lost about 10 percent. Then I checked it after second and that's what it was at

Your pic says the screen took 44% of the power. Consider the signal strength in your school. If you have a weak signal the phone uses more power. Maybe try airplane mode for part of the day. Also, I have found I get better battery life on the network as opposed to my school's wireless. The school's wireless is always polling the phone resulting in greater drain.
Here's the link to Better Battery Stats on XDA... FREE XDA versions are found at the bottom of post #2. I/We don't have your phone so other than general statements we are of little help. well from what i see you have google now or some transit app running. those tend to take up a ton of battery. use the bettery battery stats that someone posted and see whats running. once you find out you can use an app like autostarts to keep stuff like that not running when it doesnt need to.
Also another way to tell whats running is to go to settings > apps > running. if you see a process you dont like running just kill it and try to stop it with autostarts. I know from experience that facebook is one of these pain in the a$$ apps that always wants to be running for some god forsaken reason. Anyway just start with that. thats probably your main problem as i can also see you have juice defender, which is probably helping battery.
There wasn't a download for it; only someone's text information. Does anyone have an APK for it? I don't have the money for it Before school starts tomorrow I'll be sure to kill running apps. Also, I wasn't on the school's Wi-Fi at any point because we don't have Wi-Fi, my high school is poor. Lol

autostart app won't run in foreground so you don't have to kill it. it'll stop access as it needs to based on what you disabled from automatically starting. be careful what you prevent from starting up cause it can defect your setup requiring a fresh flash install
This is my battery life just a few minutes before I posted it yesterday; I took it off the charger at the same time. For some reason yesterday the android system ran much longer than today; the difference is obvious on my battery life.

the 3 best things to do is keeping brightness down/off whenever possible, using better battery stats to monitor partial wakelocks and keeping apps from running too long in the foreground

A good thing to do would be, charge it Friday night, take it off the charger Saturday morning and let it sit on the counter of 1 hour, preferably 2 hours, then check to see what has been waking it up. You can google what you find to determine what process they're related to if not obvious to you.
Obvious total noob here. I've read all the thunderbolt reference material here and have followed a couple of tutorials on how to root my thunderbolt, but I keep finding broken mirrors. I just keep finding dead ends. Can someone point me to a current root method for this device. My goal is to try the leaked ICS rom. Thanks.
The closest I got was with revolution.
It did see my device and I was on the last step but it seemed like my rom was not compatible. There was a nice video and followed all the steps.

Welcome to the rooted club! I just joined this week myself.
I hadn't seen the all in one tool but I think I'll snag it. Revolutionary worked great for me. The only thing I had to do was temp root since I was running the .19 ROM. It was smooth sailing after that.
I'm running SkyRaider 1.3 now. I'll probably flash to ICS next month after playing with SR for a bit.
What has SR been like for you?

So far I'm digging it. It's been considerably faster and seemingly more reliable than stock. The past two years have been hateful and I wish I would have rooted a long time ago.
I'm still trying to figure out what things have changed (like what new options I have and where to find some things) but it's been a fairly easy ride. I did have to flash twice to get it to work but now it seems to be solid.

Sounds like a battery. I typically charge overnight and I'm good from about 7-4. Then I charge on the 30 min drive home and I'm good until the nightly charge. I've never seen exceptional battery life even with JuiceDefender. Right now it's bad but not quite like yours. I was on a third-party battery, though. I just swapped to the HTC battery and I'll see how it is. I think I'm going to turn JD off as well to see how SkyRaider managers on its own.

I recommend turning off 4G. It's not really useful anyways unless you're trying to download something. Calibrate the battery also. Turn down your screen brightness and backlight timing. Also adjust how often accounts sync. Slow your CPU speeds.
You should be set after that.
Sent from my ADR6400L using xda premium
Yeah, I only use 4G if I'm doing file transfers or tethering. I need to look at underclocking. How often do you sync? I have a number of accounts that I check every 15 min. I could probably increase that to 30.

Some of these are apps you can change within the apps settings, such as Facebook. I usually sign on before it syncs anyways.
Definitely checks your social apps and change the update intervals. It's basically the same thing.

You need to realize the stock battery is only 1450. So very small for a 4g phone. I have found juice defender only made my wallet lighter. You might want to look in to an aosp ROM as it gives you better battery life. I personally disable auto sync and turn off GPS. Also while I am at work I disable data as SMS and MMS doesn't come over mobile data part. In the end some people carries more than one battery on them if they won't be in a place they can charge.

Basically, as soon as I pulled it out of the box, I drain the battery until it turns itself off, then recharge from there. I do this cycle for at least a full week...drain to empty, charge to full.....I actually did it for about 10 days with this device. Essentially, I treat it like an old ni-cad battery for that first week.
There is absolutely NO science or expertise behind this. I know a lot of people say that lithium batteries don't require it and it doesn't affect it, but its something I do....and it definitely can't hurt.
Except only that it does hurt Li-on and Li-Po batteries

I am going away to Belgium for two and a half weeks. I will unlikely have access to a wall outlet. I have 7 batteries for my S3. So at the moment i am trying all the ways possible to increase the battery life of my S3. I run a stock rom with a siyah kernal. I use stweaks to undervolt my cpu but 100mv and have the max freq. set to 700 ghz. I also have it locked to one core.
Does any of this help increase battery life.

Delete all your apps (especially google apps) which u don't need. Turn off account sync, this is what the most battery drains. If u are in uncovered area, turn flight mode on, steadily searching for net could cause battery drain too.
I don't know what's going on anymore. I've used countless different chargers and usb cables and they don't work (literally, they work with other phones, just not mine). I have cleaned the inside of the phone's charging port, nothing. I have got the port repaired at a shop, it did work, but not any more. My phone does not charge at an amperage higher than 100mA on any charger, it starts at 900mA then decreases in a matter of seconds. According to another battery monitor my phone is discharging at 15% an hour. This is crazy for me as I could get my phone to last 24+ hours on a single charge a few days ago (I use greenify). Also, my phone is always hot, according to GSam battery monitor and various other monitors, well over 50 degrees Celsius. I'm running the latest version of Resurrection Remix for the SGS3 (android 4.4.2). If any other information is required I'd me more than happy to provide it.

You can also visit a local mobile store that sells genuine goods and buy a battery.
If the port got damaged too soon, then maybe the guy didn't repair it properly.

Ah ok, I have a few stores in mind, I'll do that then.
When I bring my phone back to him I hope he does repair it properly, issues I've been having have caused so much disruption.
On a side note, I put my phone to charge and it started off at 1000mA, within a few minutes it went down to 800mA, a few seconds later (basically as I've been writing this message it's gone down to 300mA... Is this normal? I only started using a current monitoring app since my problems started, so the currents I was getting before prior to the issues are unknown.
EDIT: Nope. Not normal. Charger connected: 100mA. Phone is discharging at 1% every few minutes & feels like it's about to spontaneously combust.

Battery's definitely gone mate.
If your phone supports NFC, you can use that to check if the battery's genuine or not. Original replacements have embedded NFC.
only drop in mAh was when i buyed 2 m cable from ebay (dont do that) for charging ..and it didn't work ...but now i bought hama 1.8m cable and it works flawlessly....i use galaxy current to see how many mAh phone gets but ...you sould definetly buy a new battery ...it could damage your phone

Ah, that's handy. I'll look around for some genuine batteries and then use the NFC to double check.

Stweaks tweak might help
Hey OP, if you're on a custom ROM, i used to have same issues, the mA changes a lot, i had this STweaks App, it supports my kernel, i went to that MISC tab and checked box : Ignore unstable power sources; since then , i'm always on 1000 mA on wall and 899 mA on USB. Give it a try GL

Yeah I'm using Resurrection Remix, I'm going to try that right now. I hope it works!
EDIT: It doesn't support my kernel

You need googymax2 kernel or boeffla.

I'm not familiar with kernels, I don't think I've ever messed around with them. I assume they can be downloaded and flashed like a rom or zip?

IT WORKS! Finally! I can charge my phone and use it again! I'm still going to get a new battery as my phone is still extremely hot. I downloaded the latest version of googymax2, backed up my phone, flashed it, done what I had to do in the misc section and here I am with a rock solid 1000mA.
I'm very grateful for the replies in this thread, much appreciated, thanks a lot guys!
