[Q] Nearly Blank Screen - HTC Rezound

I unlocked my Rezound, installed AmonRa and rooted (confirmed). I wanted to install the 4.03.605.2 Global RUU and thought I needed to relock so that's what I did. I couldn't get the RUU (PH98IMG.zip) to flash from my external sd card so I relocked the bootloader. When the phone rebooted everything looked normal until it got to what should have been the home screen. Most of the screen is black. Along the top I can see 4GE, the signal bars, the battery icon and the time. When it fist starts this screen I see a white triangle with "Customization Setup" beside it. These soon disappear.
I have tried pulling the battery, but always go back to this mostly blank screen. The phone is S-on.
Any help out there?
Edit - I pulled the battery and booted into HBoot, then got into the recovery zip menu. I thought I was home free, but it says I am trying to flash a bad zip file.

i just flashed the global ruu, flash twice, remove it from the sd card and factory reset from hboot. that should fix u up.

if it doesn't work, grab a download from android police, and try the process again.

I downloaded the RUU from Android Police and went through the whole process again. I still have a home screen that is mostly blank. I did a nandroid restore in AmonRa and still have the same problem. I have Hassoon's All-In-One Toolkit v3.1, but everything requires USB debugging. With the screen blank (and no buttons functioning) I don't know of a way to enable USB debugging. Can anyone help?

The stock ruu is already out...
Download it and run it I don't know if it will cure the tampered message.

it was my understanding that the best you can currently do is have it report "Relocked"
I'm not sure how to tell if its been relocked or not it lost root and shows tampered sighn if that helps

any links on how to do it or the stock ruu download i really just want my google wallet to work again
You have to soff to remove the tampered messages, I couldn't use lazy panda so I don't know the process but you need boot 1.12...sorry that
---------- Post added at 12:49 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:48 AM ----------
If all you want is Google wallet you can flash a zip for the modified wallet, head over to themes and apps and download the zip installer and flash on recovery
Did you ever install a twrp recovery?

What error is wallet giving you?
the oh so famous "unsupported device" triangle due to me being rooted accepted the update and lost root but left my phone with a tampered sign and google wallet less device
You can still use wallet unless you never made an account and backed the data with titanium

i never used taitanium back up even on my old evo and nexus
so even though the triangle of lost hope pops up on my google wallet i could still use it ? ill probably give it a try tommrow and see if it works
Yep, if not you can unlock boot loader I mean you can't get rid of tampered anyway and flash twrp recovery, then use the wallet zip I mentioned earlier
---------- Post added at 01:16 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:14 AM ----------
Well maybe if you get ruu for 1.22, maybe? It was the way your root method originally got rid of it.
Sorry what was I thinking titanium won't work for your problem sorry
I wouldn't worry about the tampered message really

Q regarding a HTC Amaze 4g stuck on htc screen

I've searched far and wide for an answer to this. This Amaze 4g is my cousins phone and currently the phone is stuck on the HTC boot screen.
I've followed directions and downloaded the
OTA_RUBY_ICS_35_S_TMOUS_2.14.531.3-1.43.531.3_release_259660ggzpa27mj01s2ayu.zip
and renamed it into PH85IMG on an external SD card. I booted the phone to the bootloader and into fastboot to allow it to load the file and return to stock. I've waited at least 30 minutes every time i tried to make it boot and am currently lost on what to do. The phone is S-On and stock.
Wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction... Thanks!
Is the bootloader locked or unlocked?

Yes. To flash a RUU, you need to have a locked bootloader.
Also, you're trying to flash an OTA. That won't work with the method you're using. Use this RUU http://d-h.st/3VD and rename it to PH85IMG and then put it on the external sdcard. That should work.
Thanks mate. That worked!
how?
and how do you relock the bootloader i got this phone unlocked all i did was root it and try to install a rom like i do on my Samsung Note with clockwork mod recovery... but it got stuck on the htc logo,

I was getting that on the v4 toolkit also. If you manually boot your phone into bootloader and then use the toolkit, it should work. Had to install the 4ext recovery that way after going back to stock.

So what does that mean you can't flash a recovery? Did you try running the RUU?
I'm pretty sure what I pushed was an ruu it said all kinds of stuff was installing it was an 2.0.6 maybe it wasn't an ruubut just the update but every time I try to use adb it won't find the device
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
So you know I can wipe the entire device including formatting the recovery, boot, system whatever doesn't matter as long as hboot is in place. As long as I can boot hboot I can recover it as well. Its difficult to trash the device as long as hboot works. Most of these problems are related to the drivers not being installed properly. Most users say they already know this but I'm gonna say it anyway fastboot and adb use different drivers.

An RUU is a windows .exe that you well run from windows. It will restore the device to factory but you wont loose S-Off. Once S-Off always S-off.

If you have windows try the 1.15 RUU from this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2293919
But you need to check your drivers and make sure you have the correct on loaded in Hboot or it wont work. You may also need to flash the ENG-Hboot before you can restore with the RUU. I don't have a windows machine here so I can't tell you exactly what the driver is but I think its something like composite fastboot device or something (when in hboot).

I did the revone s off so when I got my new one I would know what to do it was simple and then did the s on but it still said s off and locked so I did the s off and tried to or did install twrp from goo manager but I thought the install was to fast but it rebooted into recovery and it didn't fit the screen so I wiped everything and tried to go back to stock and this happens

[Q] New to the device, I think I am fully bricked.. Am I?

OK so heres as much info as I have off memory.
I was @ relocked bootloader s-off hboot-2.09
had a way of flashing roms through twrp 2.4.4?
roms wouldn't flash
I tried and tried with windows now i am on ubuntu
I thought i was completely dead but the battery light flashed orange a bit then green
Oh i was using the jetjewel (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1940512)
to try to get back and it borked on waking device
so I waited to get the light back, just sitting on usb does it with a few power taps
ok trying to get it brickdetect to connect but it fails and I was playing with the power button with a green light and the bottom keys started to flash again, so i tried adb devices and it shows.
adb reboot=bootloader does nothing.
is there a way back to life for me?
I'll gladly share more as or if needed. Thanks 2 all

This might be a no brainer question. Did you try holding the power button for 30 seconds then let go for 10 seconds and try turning it on? I had a similar issue but it wasn't near as bad as yours mine would freeze and just show black screen and flashed the buttons. All I did was restart the phone but it took awhile just to restart the phone like 5mins minimum
Also have you tried accessing bootloader

You did say you're S-off, correct? If so I suggest running VipeRUU if you can get the phone to boot at least to the bootloader. It will put you back totally stock, unrooted & S-on. You can then re-root your phone.

If you think you gotta trick or two i can try I am appreciative and all ears/eyes,.. Thank You!
So here is my take on this whole situation...
You are s-on(unless you used MoonShine or DirtyRacun to gain s-off) that's why none of the roms flashed
Messing with the downgrade tool most likely did some damage depending on how far you got(it's been a while since I have read the thread but IIRC this tool purposely bricks your phone to enable you to downgrade your hboot) to achieve s-off using LazyPanda for hboot 1.15 and 1.19 before FacePalm and DirtyRacun became available.

STock EVO3D boot loop Sprint 2.95 HBOOT 1.58

Can someone please help me. I can get into fastboot usb but I can not flash anything on this phone (stuck in boot loop). It is a stock non rooted Sprint EVO3d on 2.95.651.6 with hboot 1.58. It's locked and sON all stock. Apparently there is no Sprint RUU for the 2.95 and I was wonder if there is anything else I can do. I have looked everywhere and am lost. I am trying to fix this phone as the wifes HTC ONE m7 bricked yesterday while my kids were playing games and it won't turn on (tried everything the most I can do was get it into the bootloader but selecting any option would just make the phone freeze sprint confirmed it is bricked and now we lost some family photos, I am not too happy about. although her fault for not backing them up) That phone I have to call HTC on in the morning for a replacement since I do not want a refurb from Sprint that will take 5 days anyways. Anyways does anyone know what I can do with this Evo3d that won't boot.
Thanks in advance,
Dan
P.S. rooted many phones just been a while (Wanted to stay stock because it was just going to be a kids toy now we need it)

How would I be able to flash from the sdcard without having a recovery installed on the phone? If I even try to go into recovery it just loop boots, also a factory reset was of no help.
Thanks!

Well, with the 2.95 OTA, they included the HBOOT in the firmware, so it's now much faster of a load time for PG86IMG when doing the brick.
I pulled the new PG86IMG.zip from the OTA update, and it's only 19MB, which takes only 15-20 seconds to fully load and be ready to press volume up to update... this will significantly cut down on the time it takes to downgrade, as you can re-try over and over very quickly now.
Here's the PG86IMG file -> http://d-h.st/3p8

The pg86img.zip is read by hboot from sdcard root and flashed, or you can fastboot it from computer.
from directory with pg86img.zip, command or terminal
Code:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip pg86img.zip
will send zip to phone and flash, then will return to prompt. phone will not reboot by its self, need to enter
Code:
fastboot reboot
this is not a full rom but the update from 2.89 to 2.95. May need to look for way to fastboot and wipe data or maybe a factory reset might help.

also can the HTC one go into fastboot? if so you can pull the files from it. I use linux for most playing with Android devices, is just easier
