Post your Battery Life. With screenshots and Screen on time! - LG Optimus L9 P760, P765, P768, P769

Post your battery life here and say witch L9 you have. And give the most details if you can
(I will get this phone next week want to see what you guys get out of this phone)
And i didnt see any thread like this. So i start one.
PEOPLE plz post also screen on time!!
edit have the phone. and it has good battery life will post mine soon also.

Battery life is very good, this includes mainly internet browsing with wi-fi and 1-1.5 hours of gaming, brightness always at 50%.
My cpu is undervolted a lot, for example I give only 860mv for 1000mhz, hotplug governor. I have 25% battery left so I could have about 4:30 hours of screen on time using the full battery charge.

Thx undervolt and its stable? Because i have th lg o2x and if in undervolt -25mv its okay but 50 its hangs every hour.
Not bad at all heavy 3d gaming i see. Dark night rises and spider man.
Ow and with 3g on or not? Also interested to see the 3g battery life.

I made massive overclock but it's perfectly stable for 7 days, here more about my settings:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=37100010&postcount=16
Unfortunately I have not a 3g plan but I think it should also be good because L9 has a very efficient modem (talk time is one of the best, see gsmarena battery tests).

P769 battery life
I do not have a screenshot, but I have nearly gone 72 hours on one charge. I am using a rooted P769 v10g with most of the bloatware frozen. Wi-if, auto sync, and screen brightness at 50% during that time.

Lol. Granted it was a very inactive time for my phone. I just thought that it was pretty amazing for the phone to make it that long before needing another charge. On average I only have to charge the phone every other day.

Re: Post your Battery Life. With screen shot if posible
This is about average for me. Sometimes as much as three days, but never less than 30 hours.

your guys battery sounds great;
mine only lasts bit more than one day

For some reason, my battery life has gotten worse than when the image was taken. I am insane, mental, and deranged about battery life so I will have more specific percentages soon. I have tried ending anything I suspected was using the battery to save battery life. When the phone is charging, I even take the back cover off my phone to disperse the heat from the battery. Welcome to the most useless and pathetic obsession in existence.
As you can see, the screen takes up the vast majority of battery life, due to being at 50% brightness. Any lower, and I would have to bring my own flashlight. I turn off wireless unless I use the Internet. One charge ranges from 3 to 5 days, depending on how bored I am in school and how much Fruit Ninja/Temple Run I play.

Here I am again with more battery life measurements. Playing Fruit Ninja causes the battery to drain 1% every 3 minutes or so. On the other hand, leaving the phone on sleep mode causes 1% to drain in about 5 hours. Also attached are app percentage power usages to give a sense of what is using up all the battery.

Untitled by stojke21, on Flickr
These are my results with above average use(wifi or 3g always on,sync every hour,a little bit of subway surf...)

5h ?? what brightness u were using ?? 30% ? this is cool

How can your battery last so long?? Mine has never lasted more than one day, never!

The screen is always on 50% brightness, except when battery goes under 20 then i set it to 25 %... The screen on is never under 4 h... With heavy use, battery holds through the day easy... I'm very satisfied with the battery life of my L9..

What battery life to expect ? Mine runs out pretty soon...

Hi,
What is the battery life we may expect from a Galaxy S2 ? Mine (from fully charged) lasted only 3-4 hours surfing the web using 3G, maybe including some wifi usage, however screen was dimmed down. Isn't the battery supposed to last a little longer ? The phone is new and I am on the third day now. Is there anything wrong with my device or will battery performance improve after some battery cycles ?

Mate 3g browsing on the sgs2 does kill that battery in 3-4 hours max.. that is actually the time scale most reviews give.. i know its a pain i hate it myself, but ull find generally using the phone ie camera, music etc gives you a longer battery. The browser rocks! but its a serious power drinker, i did discover that some sites are saying that using a 3rd party browser helps things abit e.g dolphin or opera. It has something to do wiv the gpu accelaration which enables u to do things like play 1080p videos in the stock browser and the constant smooth perfomance
oh and i found the battery does improve after a few cycles, but i think thats mainly due to the fact u tend to not be constantly playing with the phone al the time
Yep, 4 hours tops for me screen on usage.
Using Juice Defender which helps a bit..
Abouth the battery...
Earlier this evening my phone was at 28%, when i picked it back up an hour later it was 31%????
I watched the battery graph and it showed a Yellow line going upwarts slitghtly., is that strange??
Afterwards i saw green going down and than up again. I will post a pic of it.
Seriously, there are 5+ battery threads already, what is so specific about your case you felt the need to start a completely new discussion on it????

I wonder what would happen if people actually used their phones for talking.
I pre ordered this and waiting shipment. I can compare with the atrix i had, that the battery life was not to shabby but it had a 1900mah battery.
You can't expect amazing battery life with this phone
4.3inch screen
AMOLED+
1.2ghz CPU.
if they made the phone a bit thicker a tiny bit they could of put a bigger battery in there but samsung wants to compete with apple on thinest phones.

Battery Life for Photon

Just curious what people are getting on their phones. I'm getting about 16-18 hours with Juice Defender with about 10-15% battery left and moderate use (texting, 30 mins games...30 minute call...)
Wondering if any of the Custom Roms out there will extend battery life significantly...Thanks!

Yeah I guess I just had higher expectations for the phone..coming from a blackberry that I would charge 2-3/week. I should have expected a significant decrease in battery life due to display, etc.

No high end smart phone these days is going to get multiple days on a charge really. This phone has very good out of the box battery life. Most need a number of early updates to improve the life.
The way phones are now you will never see battery life like you expected. The new standard for me on smart phones is if it makes it through a full work shift then that's good battery life. Some of my past phones I would need to get either an extended battery or have a wall charger in my office. The mofo I can take to work and not plug in until I get into my car and leave.....that's pretty good if you ask me!
Right now 6 hours off the charger with the screen on for just over an hour I am at 78% battery. No calls but texting and some internet. That astounds me for a new phone.
Yeah I guess thats not bad...i was using battery circle but switched to the uot mod....im sitting at 80 after a couple hours....i wanted less widgets on my phone to drain less battery..not sure if it's worked yet

I ,am on it a lot, between GPS and general usage, ,but this still seems like too fast to drain compared to what others here have said. I had this problem with my Atrix too, maybe i am just destined for bad luck with battery life

Apps like that only increase standby battery life. Everything else is very minimal.
And I'm not happy with the battery life either. My phone is plugged in right now and the battery is actually going down as I use it.

If it's notbthe stock charger you areblikely not using a rapid charger.

I pull mine off the charger at 7:00 and at 3pm or so it's down to 85%, I'll put it on the charger at work until I leave around 5-6pm (mainly because I'm used to having to do this on my previous phone) and at night if I'm not using it constantly it's around 70-75% when I plug it in at bed time.
I suspect anyone getting that bad of battery life must be using it constantly, ie: Playing games, browsing, trolling facebook, etc.. Even in the "new toy" stage I'm getting great battery life.
FYI I don't have LTE, but do generally have good 4G.
You honestly can't use any phone on GPS without external power and expect that you're not going to discharge quickly. Assuming that you are running a car charger during GPS and just didn't say so, search the i-717 threads, since the topic has been well vetted on what chargers are more effective, etc. There are definite differences.

The fact that there are people out there that get really good battery life means the problem is you and not the phone. If you refresh facebook every minute of course your battery life will be crappy. apps like juicedefender are just marketing crap. as long as there are no running apps in the background that eat your battery, you do not need any juicedefender or tasker. also setting screen-off behavior to conservative on set cpu helps improve battery life.
When I first got my i717 and was using it on the stock rom I had pretty terrible battery life. I take it off the charger at 5:00am and had decent battery life (around 5 to 7 hours without GPS) but I use my phone a lot for internet/email. I think your battery life is completely normal given your usage.
Most people get about 5hrs screen on time. Total on battery ranges up to about 24hrs, but only if the screen is off at least 19 of them.

5 hours of screen time AND 19hours standby sounds incredible

I had GPS running on my phone for 4 hours today, had blue tooth on half the time without knowing it, sending text messages, making two 5 min phone calls, checking maps, checking FML and reading a book for about an hour and drained down to about 70% and I have the brightness set at auto. I would exchange it for a new battery.
On average with several texts per hour, several 5-10 min phone calls, taking a few pics and uploading them to picasa, checking facebook, updating status and checking emails I can pull off the charger at 630am and still have 50% battery (at least) by 630pm.
I do have the juicedefender (which isn't crap, it turns off signal after so long so you aren't trolling for signals when you aren't on the phone).

I had a ss of my buddies yesterday, but can't restore mms lol. There are plenty of other ss in the note section. He was at 22+ hrs with about 4:30 of screen on and some % remaining. I have to charge around 7-9 everynight at 4-4:30 hrs screen on, but my use is pretty heavy. I sync 4 gmail accounts, a separate GV, 3 calendars, and several apps.
If yours is much worse than that, you likely have a few troublesome apps or are playing games. First, after a full charge, reset cpuspy timers, lock it, and set it down for a few hours (I know, impossible). Then check to see that your CPU has been in deep sleep about 95% of the time. If not, use better battery stats to see what has been request wakelocks. Not only the most total time, but the total number. Any app that looks outrageous, freeze it or uninstall it. For system processes that look troublesome, Google. You can often find simple tricks online that will tell you what's causing them to go crazy. Beyond that, turn off syncing of anything that isn't needed or doesn't matter (like Facebook), and uninstall stuff you never use.
Another slight help is the brightness widget (don't use the actual widget, just put the app on your homescreen, it works the same) or dimmer in market as they can both set the brightness to a value of 10 (Samsung lowest stock is 20), and even if you can't tell the difference, it helps. Jkay settings in saurom can set the auto brightness profile slightly darker than stock. Umm, and the obvious, use less Widgets, longer sync intervals, processor scaling and speed profiles, and buy a couple rapid chargers, wall and auto.
A couple things to note after seeing a few of these posts...
BT can be on, but without it searching, connected, or listening it's not active.
GPS isn't active unless its in use aand you see the icon in the notification bar. That being said, fb, websites, and many other apps that request location will activate it.

YOU MUST CALIBERATE THE BATTERY!! I have no issues I use my phone heavy all day and get 15 hours and I still have 20% left. All you have to do is
1) Charge you phone until it says "charged"
2)Leave phone plugged in and power off and let it charge until the battery meter literally says "100" (screen will sleep so you can check with volume rocker to light screen)
3) power on phone and let boot and than power off and wait till you see 100% again
4) now keep doin this and you will notice it will start displaying "100%" faster and faster usually takes 6-7 times cycling like this
5) After you do this download Battery Caliberation (root required) app from market and hit the caliberate button and boom your good to go
I do this on every android phone I own when I flash a new rom or purchase a fresh one. Everyone should do this everytime you flash a new rom and I can CONFIRM significant battery longevity on all my android phones I have done this with
You only have to do it once so just get it out the way and you'll get through a whole dayand have some juice to play with.
I get 15+ hours and do not any battery juice defender apps

Just to be clear here, Tasker has nothing to do with battery life. It doesn't hurt it, nor "help" it. However, you certainly could write tasks/contexts that would decrease battery life, and there are a few scripts out there which do silly stuff like autokilling, etc... But if we're talking "battery savings", Tasker and JD do not go in the same category.
IMO JD is only useful if you're frequently in an area with no signal, like you work in a basement or deep inside of a solidly constructed building. Since you mentioned Tasker, in this context it does help me a bit on battery because my wifi turns off when I leave the house, but that's also something JD can help with. If you don't have a wifi connection it'll turn off wifi (and I believe turn it back on periodically to see if there's one available?) I don't use JD, so can't speak too much for it.

Hour? Hour and a half? I'm working during that period. I usually hit news sites and G+ when I'm first at my desk in the morning, so that's 30 minutes or so off and on looking at it, then perhaps an hour over the rest of the day, sometimes more at lunch.

What would you say about that..

I am tired of my Amaze, the battery barely lasts me more than 5-6 hours and these drops are unbearable.
I started my day 9am today and the battery was down to 20% at precisely 1:04pm.

thing is, you should NOT have to do all these tweaks just for a full days use. should be perfect ouf of box
I don't know what you people do, but I consider myself semi heavy user. Today I streamed BT music for an hour at the gym, streamed one movie off Netflix and watched a good few YouTube wrestling matches and had a few calls here and there and a good 50 texts....reading some off the Kindle app and I got 11 hours before a charge.

This does not look good at all especially the last drop. You might have a rogue app. I would factory reset and start over only few apps at a time so I can identify the app. You may also wanna try other battery like anker.

This behaviour is definitely irregular... Those sharp drops and sudden spikes could be from the battery not being calibrated properly. On average, my Amaze with stock battery lasts me about 14-16 hours with 2.5-3 hours of screen time (lowest brightness most of the time).

Most android phones really need to be rooted so you can fully tweak the battery life. My amaze got roughly 16 hours with normal to heavy use with bullet proof 4.0. My phone I'm using now, the mytouch 4g gets around 24 hours with the same use. Before I would be lucky to get 8 hours with either phone. IV learned that you can either complain about things, do something about it, or just get an iPhone and go away . The beauty of android is the ability to go in and tweak.

averaging ~ 15-19 hrs of heavy usage a day on sense 3.5 rc1.7, sometimes Ill use juice defender to help with the longer work shifts but honestly its a huge difference from when I was stock.
its no different from when I was stock on my g2 to when I was rooted, sometimes you just have to tweak a few things to see a vast improvement.
Morning all,
I just woke up and unplugged my phone from the charger after leaving it to charge all night, right. As soon as I unplugged it, THE BATTERY DROPS 96% IN A MATTER OF SECONDS and I get the less than 5% of battery remain. I was like WTF?!?
I believe I found my problem....
Btw, I am on a rooted stock rom and I would consider myself a normal user. Calls, sms, and emails are the primary uses of my phone.
I am completely stock and get about 16hrs to a charge... I run miui music or stock music app for roughly 4 to 6 hrs a day and surf here and market and a bit of gaming.
I set screen brightness to 20% and keep my internet and blue tooth etc off most of the day....
I desperately want to debloat but I'm holding stock till ICS.
Rogue app sounds right along with the bloat like Google maps and Facebook eating up our batteries..
I also use a task manager to kill on command......
We have a hodgepodge setup of bloatware and settings in stock format... But I'm waiting and earning an ulcer till ICS as I know the upgrade will open the door to real development of truly good stuff

thing is, you should NOT have to do all these tweaks just for a full days use. should be perfect ouf of box

For reals though.... Total bs that most of these phones have battery issues.

I was getting about 3 hours of battery life on Faux's kernel. When I switched to stock I was getting 18 hours
This is my battery from when I woke up until now, about 10 hours so far.
Light usage so far, just while I was at work. Screen was on for an hour.
I'm very happy with my battery life, if I leave the screen off I barely lose any battery not even 1% an hour.
Energy Rom Stock Kernel.

so what was the problem? I saw a huge improvement with faux on stock debloated rom, easily getting a day out of it and sometimes 2+ days with light use.

[Q] Thoughts on my battery life?

heres a few screenshots from the last few days with various type of usage im just wondering if im seeing normal battery life
ive noticed that when im just texting for a bit or doing something else for a few min each percent seems to drop off pretty fast..i dont know if its because my last phone was in the 10 percent increments and im not use to it or if i have something draining my battery faster then it should
firstly this is what i have my brightness set to at all times dont know if its better to leave it this low or put it on auto..i dont like it to bright right now cause i have some eye issues
so the following 3 are with very light usage for the most part except for when i first woke up, sorry for the ringer toggle on the last didnt think there was a need to retake it
and these were taken earlier into the day but because it seemed like i was draining it faster and i would say this was moderate usage
if any other details are needed to really see if theres an issue please let me know and i will post
It looks fine for stock... Nothing out of the ordinary... Getting 13 hours and having 60 percent left is pretty good if you ask me... I have found that the phone will use the battery fast if I'm using it... But when it's idle it barely uses any battery which is fine with me...
Coming from a day one thunderbolt on 4g in its infancy where I would get 5 hours idle if I didn't use the phone... HTC has come a long way in 2 years

You have to remember that the screen is the biggest power draw. The more it runs teh more drained.
Also the more apps working in the background dont help. battery savers, loggers etc infact use more battery....

yea i think thats the lowest i can do on brightness without ruining the display all together at night when i use it in the dark alot and hit autobrightness it doesnt really change so thats really my sweet spot for light..other hours of the day i think auto would make it higher than what i have it set at
i disabled alot of apps today..i dont really have anything auto syncing only thing i have consistently going is push email
I've noticed that this phones battery lasts a long time as long as you are not playing games or watching videos. I have been browsing the Web and texting all day and I am still around 60%

Can you (or anyone else) figure out why the Kernel and Android system is using so much power?
Mine are both consistently around 21-23% battery usage, while the screen is doing 9-11% battery usage, with 3.5 hours screen on time.
Amazing screen!
If screen power usage is so low, the battery should be able to go for way longer than the 15-16 hours of usage I see.

You can use better battery stats to investigate kernel wake locks and see what specifically is using the battery up

My battery seems about the same, I think it's pretty normal.
