Ok a friend of mine has a Samsung Galaxy note i717
He has asked me how to turn noise suppression off permanently
He says he tired of turmomg it off on each call and until he does the other end can not hear him
I know this has been asked before and the closet I come to an answer was see that there was an app called samsung_nr apk (samsung noise reduction off)
Everywhere I have Iooked it is no longer available.
I know he has android with ice cream sandwich
Can someone tell me what to do.
I am no stranger to following instructions.
I have followed instructions here many times with great success.
Also he does not have the setting to turn it off when you go to settings - calls - additional settings. It does not appear in that menu
I'm guessing there's a file somewhere that records and saves your preferences, like ring tone, screen layout, etc.
There's settings you can't change, like disabling camera shutter sound (to protect people from unauthorized pictures being taken).
I hope noise suppression is a setting you can save. If so, it's in a file like build.prop or some xml.
Stand by, someone here will know the guts of the phone and give you the file to edit.

If I remember correctly, in thinking it's in the phone app. Open phone/menu/settings scroll down and you should see check box for " Noise Suppression ". Uncheck it. I know that's how it is in JB, thinking it's also in ICS. I could very well be wrong though. It's been a while since I've been on ICS.

Six posts and you're already a d-bag. . . Wow, a new record.
My responses were for two reasons: 1. To reassure you. 2. To keep a thread at the top of the forum it needs some activity, so I was providing that. By xda rules you can only bump your own thread once in 24 hours, so I was helping you out. Good luck.

First of all don't call be d-bag.
I said with all due respect. Acknowledging that I respect the members here that do provide advice.
If I came here and posted a question, its because I couldn't find the answer elsewhere and yes I have spent hours looking for a solution.
You think I am the first person who doesn't have a lot of posts and yet wonder why after 24 hours there are no responses.
You can say things a lot nicer without the insults.

As I see it, you have 2 options, continue with this fine line of defensive stance or smile just shake your head and try to find a solution. We all know you don't just post up without looking for the answer nor do we immediately assume you're an idiot. But your comment of "all due respect" did come across a tad snide. So let's all take a deep breath and get back to the matter at hand.
Look my intention is never to be disrespectful nor come across a tad snide.
Maybe my choice of words were misunderstood, and if they did then I do apologize.
I personally do not like to be called any names nor would I call someone a name because of what they post.
But you must understand the frustration of waiting for an answer and it taking a long time.
I don't expect an immediate response, but if after 24 hours there is no single reply yet there are 336 views, it can get frustrating.
I see this time and time again, where the minute someone doesn't get a reply an they ask again, right away the only response they get is either name calling or they are joked about asking .
I know that everyone here has been in that predicament, where you are waiting and waiting and waiting. What happens when you ask again they just tell you to wait. Prime example is the doctor's office.
Anyway I hope this clears the air and we can get back to the original problem

So how does this relate to turning noise suppression off permanently on a Samsung Galaxy note i717 ?????
Keico, possibly you got no real response is because no one knew the answer you were looking for. This is not a very common subject on this forum. And I doubt most know even how to disable it per call or even know what that symbol is on the dial pad. Most of the posters here in your thread are devoted, very knowledgeable, and the most active on this forum. They have seen much and I am sure that none of them would have shown you disrespect if they thought you weren't being disrespectful. Borgibs response was nothing more than him being a troll plain and simple and was quite uncalled for. With that being said, welcome to the forum and let us all just get along.
Now the only thing I could dig up for you was a thread on the Samsung S2 forum. It should answer your question but is not that simple for a novice.

Hi everyone. George Hotz is currently being sued by Sony for cracking the PS3, he has opened a blog asking for help and support from people to help him in the dispute with Sony, here is his blog: http://geohotgotsued.blogspot.com/ and site http://geohot.com/
Now he announced live on tv and all over the media that he will be the first person to crack the SE Xperia Play when it comes out, now the idea is to start this bounty thread and help GeoHot with his dispute in return of help with cracking the bootloader in our x10's. I beleive that all Xperia devices are locked the same way and thus cracking the x10 will also help GeoHot cracking the Play in the future. But we need to approach George in the appropriate manner and ask for help that is why i am starting this thread. This will help us also for all next models like the Arc, Play, Pro, Neo etc. So lets gather some donations and then approach George asking for help.
So please all people that are willing to donate just post the amount in red so it can be easily seen to better update the total amount.
I will donate $20 CDN
Total:
there is already a bootloader cracking bounty thread.. why not just tally that up yourself instead of starting a new thread and expecting everyone to post again...
Im sorry if i have offended you..your post sounds rude. I know there is a bounty thread and that is old maybe half the people are not here anymore, also i did not start the thread and i cannot edit it, this is to help Geohot and him to help us. Like i said we need a solid basis and support, i cant just show him the old thread where it mentions nothing about him and expect him to help. If the OP of the thread wants to do that ok i have no problem with that.

£32.15
EUR AMOUNT (based on start of week x-rate - indicative only)
51.47EUR
I'll donate a percentage of the final total, come the end of February.
I'll get in contact with GEOHOT via the methods I have at the moment, will let you know what he says he usually gets back to me quite quick.
I fail to see how this is any different?
A) This thread doesn't belong in Android Development.
B) This isn't any different than the other thread. Both threads are asking for money to give to someone to crack the bootloader. If Geohot wants to crack the X10 and if ever does, then I'm sure the money in the other thread would go to him.
C) The other thread is *only* 2 weeks old
D) This may all be a bit of 'negotiating' by Geohot. ie. Throw out the ridiculous lawsuit and I'll agree not to crack your SE bootloader. If not, I'll continue.
E) I don't think anyone is being rude but it's really a PITA (not the delicious kind) to come in the Development forum and see donation threads repeated ad naseum. He was simply stating facts.
Have anyone of you wrote him?

Hi Bin4ry this is why I started this thread to have some basis when we contact him and to show him that this is for him and that people are willing to support him in return of help with the bootloader cracking. Thank you for your help as the other person said you are really appreciated here and we could be where were at if it wasn't for you and the other devs.
People please stop complaining about the thread. If mods feel this should be moved or closed they can do so. I just believe we can make something out of this. So please if you want to help just post the amount or how you plan to help. Anyone that doesn't agree with the thread please don't post and start arguments., after all this is for all of us.

wtf are people talking about!
Geohot is just a glorified hacker who's a media whore. He didnt crack the ps3, Fail0verflow did and they didnt release the private keys, geohot did, all he did was make piracy an option for ps3 owners and cause honest consumers grief or at least he will do. Also he is just in it to get publicity as he thinks that some big company will hire him. Any good company will see through his stupidity. Sorry i just really dont like Geohot... I think the SG playstation podcast explains it pretty well.
I doubt he'll do it, when he tried to hack the ps3 before he failed and when others analysed his work it seemed like a very stupid way to do it.
He hasnt had that much experiance with android/mobile devices like j and z and all the other brilliant devs around here. He's not as great as you might think, he's just an average hacker with a big ego and a lot of publicity.

i suppose, its just i dont trust him. I have a feeling he'll take all the credit when theres a 65+ page thread documenting various devs attempts at hacking the bootloader. Also i just feel like people praise him a bit too much so it annoys me.
I'll give him the sorta benifit of the doubt and hope that he actually does make some more progress with hacking the bootloader.

For pointing out that the new range of phones don't meet standards.
Running official ICS stock and rooted. I have access to both recoveries on my phone. Using the button combo I get 3e and using a manager app I get CWM. When I tried a reboot from 3e recovery I got this...on the bottom left of the screen, is this the same as a kernel panic?

You would not believe the information Google search gave me when I typed in "safe mode galaxy s2". It was unreal!. Instead of starting 2 threads 20 minutes apart, which you've been a member long enough to know better, just take a deep breath, don't panic, and think for a few minutes on how to figure this out without back to back threads.
Trust me, there was no panic and you're right ...but my time should be an indication that maybe it was an accident...posting from mobile I lost signal in the middle of an edit of the title and it posted twice on it's own. I was just looking to share something I thought was kinda cool as I was unaware that the phone has a safe mode. Trust me my days of panic over a phone are long gone. But thank you to all you Google share holders for the advice.

Bang...and another one floats to the top! You guys need another hobby...This ia not the Development forum...its Q&A and I posted a question, GET OVER IT and stay out of the thread if you're coming here with crap. This is not directed at the persons pointing out the double posts (that was totally unintentional) as I was unaware this had happened but whats the point of even having a Q&A thread if people are just going to come in it and say..."you should've Googled that". Instead of comprehending my explanation and the reason for posting the thread in which I clearly explain in my second post (post # 5)...you choose to show your level of intelligence is limited to the MOB MENTALITY of: ..."you should've Googled that". Guess you were raised to think it's OK to be an A-hole every chance you get, and from the safety and cozy little comfort of your keyboard...it's not and only shows an immature attitude. And though some are fairly young I cant imagine why at any point in your life you would ever want to come off as "childish"? You shouldn't type anything in your post you wouldn't say to the person as if they were in the same room. We all have something in common here on this Forum...Android Phones, and something more in common Samsung Android phones, and another thing in common; reading/posting and being a member on a forum site for Samsung Android phones (would't it be cool if more of your friends had these things in common with you?) ...yet some of you feel the need to bash in another persons thread every chance you get and if you really think about it...ANY thread in this section could've been googled...seriously what's the point of the section then? I've gone back and read some "posting history" of the people who have posted negatively and one of you in particular must clearly have developed 'Coulrophobia" just from your first 2 attempts at posting a thread. Maybe that would explain the reason for your obvious angst toward others? Remember where you have come from and learn from it...just because your at a different point now doesn't make you better than anyone else...espescially me. In conclusion...if you feel I or anyone for that matter made an error in posting and not google search first, how does you coming in here just to flame (also XDA rule violation) make any sense? It doesn't and is just as much a FAIL as anything in these forums. Cheers!
You mad bro?
Seriously though, take this into consideration:
You posted a thread without so much as giving ANY effort into finding the answer yourself. This in turn creates clutter, useless information and most of all, irritation from those who scour these forums looking for problems to solve. In simplistic form: wasting time.
As was already stated, it took someone less time to find the answer you were looking for than it took for you to make this thread. When the answer is so readily available, is it really such a hard concept to grasp that those with lots of knowledge about our phones (supposedly including you) get irritated when they read threads like this everyday?
Hell, I did it when I first got my GS2, but I quickly learned how things work around here and how to keep it running smoothly.
[EDIT] PS - You missed. When that shot entered the water it was deflected by the resistance of the waters' surface. You now have a hole in the side of your fish barrel... And no dead fish!

Hey guys, I thought it would be fun to list some of the things that we see around the forums here that really get under your skin and blow off some steam.
Rule 1: do not post anyone's name, screen name, avatar description, signature etc (nothing that would pin point anyone
That's pretty much it for what I can think of right now. But I'll start.
I haaaaaaate when someone creates a thread and their question can be answered within two sentences of the first sticky.
It really bothers me when people brick their phones from not reading and then when you try to help them, they make it seem like you are the one who has no idea what you're saying.
Hahaha this isn't a pet peeve but it's kind of annoying when people create threads about Google worthy info (I.e. how much ram comes with the note? ) -_-
People complaining about battery life, on AOSP/AOKP.
I just think to myself, "Maybe it's their first time with a smartphone." because my Note has had the best battery life for me.
Stock, of course, sucked balls in the battery life department.
24+ hours of total of use/stand by is flipping great to me. Hell, even 10 hours is good to me.
Fyi This thread is going to have the lifespan of a fruit fly.
It bugs me when someone quotes the op.
Especially when the op is super long, then the responder quotes it just to reply with a sentence or 2.
I browse xda pretty much exclusively with tapatalk, scrolling through useless chunks of text like that is annoying
Unquotable ops would be teh poo
Complaining about things that you have no control over or have done no work towards finding a remedy.
Stupid useless threads destined to be to shutdown. Usually they consist of topics that scream at the mods ... "hey shut me down".
Secondly people who feel the need to post on every thread weather it has a hill of band to do with them.

When you answer someones question in detail and then they want you to link them all the files and threads associated with that answer instead of reading and searching after you've pointed them in the right direction....let's not even get started on the thanks button.
People asking a question about something discussed in the OP of a ROM. Worse yet, that person posting a new thread to ask it.
People who think they're smarter than they really are, give arrogant advice, then flame others that try to actually help.
People using poor grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
People obsessing over battery life, and complaining when they don't get 4 hours of screen time. The Note has some of the best battery life out there.
People obsessing over benchmarks. They are useless compared to personal user experience. My scores on CM9/ICS/AOKP are lower than they were on GB, but my user experience is much more fluid and lag free. Get over benchmarks.
People who complain about something that is missing from a ROM. Or people who complain about something that is included in a ROM. Devs don't cater to us, they are generously sharing with us, be appreciative.
People who don't know how to search and read. Try it sometime, it's amazing what a little self-gained knowledge can do for my respect for you.
People who follow this new fad of entitlement. These devs put in countless hours for themselves, and share these things with us for free. At least show the respect to read everything they write in the OP so you don't end up bugging them. And hit their thanks button as much as possible. Possibly give them a donation. Let them know how awesome you think their work is. Show them a little appreciation for what they're giving you for free. You are not entitled to anything they produce, so be grateful for what they have given you so far.
People who all for ETAs. Just don't do it, this goes with the entitlement thing.
People who say one ROM is better than others. These devs put in hard work, and the "best" ROM is a matter of personal opinion, so it's kind of a slap in the face. A ROM may be the best for you, but it is most certainly not the be all end all best ROM. It's good to give a ROM credit and praise where credit and praise are due, but don't do it at the detriment of another ROM. On a similar note, don't post a best ROM thread. Just don't do it, please.
People who flame others. It's ok to joke around a little bit, but remember, fighting with somebody on the internet is pointless, even if you "win". If you try to joke around with somebody, please try to make your dry sense of humor apparent, throw in a smiley face. I can't hear the tone of your voice while reading your post, and neither can anybody else. A smiley let's somebody know you're most likely kidding, and there's nothing to get mad about and start a flame war.

People that jump on at the last minute, and can't bring themselves to read back a couple pages.
People that appoint themselves as Protector Of The Forum and jump all over people with legitimate issues.
My biggest peeve is when a new user posts a question that has been answered in the past and half of the forum jumps on them about reading the rules. Here's an example:
n00b: Why does it take five minutes for my phone to power on now? When it was stock it only took a few seconds, now it takes a minute or longer!
d00d: OMFG! Can't you READ? It's clearly there six pages back about how the new prop file has to be completely parsed and the kernel depolarized before the snarfulflugin can be loaded! Stop asking questions that have already been answered and RTFAQ!
Of course, if the new user knew what "build.prop" and "bootloader" meant, they would have used those terms to search for the info first. And if the long-time user had taken a second to explain those terms to the new user, the next time they need something they will know how to find it. But this rarely happens anymore.
All this module does for now is restore the last seen time on your Tinder matches.
It currently works only with people you've matched with and not when you swipe.
Hopefully future versions will include more features.

Tested on KitKat and Lollipop.

Released version 1.0.2 that now supports KitKat as well.
Would love to hear suggestions, comments, bugs and positive / negative feedback.

Any Screenshots or anything? Proof that it works? Tinder version required and such? It doesn't work for myself so would like more info.
Confused..
I'm utterly confused... What purpose does this mod have?.. To show what? Why would you want your matches to know your on 24/7 ... Isn't that counter productive

I assumed it restored it for you to see when your matches were last on. Not letting yyou matches see your "last seen" but you see when they were on.

Up to version 4.3.5 of Tinder, you could have seen the time when your matches were last online.
This feature was removed on version 4.4.1 and forward. What this mod does is simply bring it back.

It was tested on versions 4.4.4 and 4.5.2.
As I said in the top post, XDA won't let me link to the repo or post screenshots because I am a new user.
Just google TinderMods xposed and there is a screenshot on the repo website.
I tried this with 4.5.2. I can confirm it is working, although the format makes me do a double take. It's listed as 16/2/16...........instead of 2/16/16......and a 24hr time stamp.
In the US, usually we read dates as month/day/year, so if you are not used to reading the day/month/year, it'll take some getting used to. I've used Tinder since it first came out nearly 4 years ago, and have seen the app change quite a bit.
The OP can correct me if I am wrong, but I believe the OP's purpose for the last online time stamp is to determine when the person was last online so....in theory you can tell if they are ignoring you after you send a message, b/c if you sent it, then they were online, they likely saw it and are possibly ignoring you.
This is the reason why I think Tinder took away this option was b/c of it allows ppl to check messages without the scrutiny of giving the perception of ignoring the person LOL. Tbh, it's not an issue based on my experience (as a guy), b/c:
1. If the person likes you, they typically respond very quickly. That has been my experience.
2. If they person does not respond, they either are never online or are not interested so you are wasting your time anyway.
I can't seem to get it to activate. I installed the module, rebooted, and still no dice. I even tried reinstalling 4.5.2 but nothing.

Yeah you're right, I'm from Israel and that's how we read the dates here.

If they picked you they were online at some point. That doesn't make sense. I'd rather women just unmatch if it's that they don't want to talk. Online dating is either a cheap thrill or stressful depending on your personality.

Thanks for the mod. It is useful. As I said before I've seen the app change during the years. Before it used to also be much leaner, then the app seems to have progressively become more and more "bloaty"

Sure that is true. Again, Tinder has changed a lot since I first started using it. In the US, Tinder is FULL of bots. They are profiles which send automated messages. This really took off around late 2014.
From when it first came out until, I'd say late 2014, Tinder was great. The app was lean, less bloat, no bots, and girls who were on there were worthwhile. You also had unlimited swipes, they didn't charge. Now (today), the app is heavy although gotten better, girls are on there are usually a waste of time, there is a limit on swipes, etc.......Usually most girls are just wasting time with it.....

There is a new version out with better logs that should help me figure out how to solve the issues you are experiencing.
Please paste the logs relevant to this module in a CODE tag along with the version of Tinder you're using and I will examine them.
nadavrbn, can you add a donation link to the original post? I would love to support you work with a small financial contribution.
I share this with you guys because I personally used this service and can attest to the fact that it is legit. Some of you have probably already heard, but for the others that are googling away trying to unlock their phone, idoneapps.com is the real deal. Not only does it work, but they will bend over backwards to ensure that it works for you. I am on AT&T HSPA+ using my SM-N915P. Works perfect. Could NOT get it to work with T-Mobile, altbough I didnt try that hard.
You are welcome my friends.

Clearly, in your mind, you believe you're helping me. But your delivery of actually what's no help at all but just an opinion (because there was no real answer to my question, which would have been yes/no), your delivery just sucks.
So i'll respond to you the way you responded to me, "Only an a-hole would call someone an 'idiot' for asking a yes/no question and not even bother to answer that question with the intended answer".
I would really appreciate it if you didn't waste my, or other people's time, just throwing pointless responses into the mix to make yourself look like you actually know the answer. I even tried to sum it up and keep it nice but you had to get that "last" word in and still use more pointless information that had nothing to do with "yes/no".
You're not helping people, which is the point of this whole forum....you're just spouting off to be spouting off. I've been here for years and i've got to say you've given the most pointless/useless answer i've ever gotten in XDA.
I've said my piece but i'm sure you'll want to drag this out so i'll just block your responses from my inbox/phone so i won't have to see anything from you again.

this is just a longer version of your first response. so what i said to that applies here. "do the work, no shortcuts" block the truth all you want.
your answer is there. you just don't like it... personal problems and wasted keystrokes.
op's post has bad news written all over it.
Look it was a pass along to help playa. Try it or dont dont really give two from my end. I been a member of xda for a min and I wouldn't give bs to my community. Again though, up to each individual. As far as the "work", the people that came up with this app, if everyone put in the work, they'd be broke. So yeah, let's just take the incentive to create anything by taking away the profit. It's commerce and capitalism, welcome to the 21st. Go be a drag elsewhere..

idone is a good way for the novice to get the desired effect. The OP was trying to help his community by sharing something he discovered. I do understand your point, but there was no reason to flame him. Perhaps you could link to a guide for a free solution for the people who discover the thread and wish to do it themselves?

He discovered nothing, and tried to act like he had some secret. Nobody has time for games. Idone has been around for years.
Say, "i used [specific tool X] to do [specific task Y], here's a link to to [specific tool X]"... instead of posting a bunch of bs then saying message him to find out how.
Thats just plain stupid unless you were shilling apps without being a sponsor.
