i just bought my mobile phone...it came with ICS 4.0.3
iam experiencing some errors first my ram is only 687 while my friend who has the same phone and same software version has 800+
it freezes every now and then when trying to open it (sweep to unlock i mean) and my music is being interrupted so that it stops for about 1 sec then continues playing
iam still in warranty but if u guys have a solution for all of this that wud be nice and thanks

Updated successfully no problem but took a while
lost 300 KB in the process... Didn't see change for now
i tried one game and saw that i works fine with no change...
Might be for stability purpose or for accelerating boot second boot was quicker than usual
I will post if i found anything else
build 3.0.A.2.184
v. 2.3.2

Got root/unlocked bootloader?
is it safe for rooted/unlocked bootloader device?
i got this update a few weeks ago, would it have anything to do with my phone being generic and not tied to single network

No I don't recommend updating your device if your bootloader is unlocked. I did it with my phone and my phone ended in a semi brick
ne1 feel like posting the build number etc.... no update for my generic unbranded play here.

The SE page also says theres no update. Maybe it was just a Radio-carrier update

thats becuase your firmware is 2.3.2 not 2.3.3
you got the point update weve had since release.
gingerbrick does not work on 2.3.3 fact!
ok i see but it's not a problem for me i used root only to move apps. now that i know adb command ... the other stuff i don't need them seriously.
I do prefer getting update than having root that i use once a year

FOTA will be slowly rolled out if the present test works .
jje
For me it has changed since 2 days ago. When i check for updates it says: Samsung account has already been added, but there's no firmware update yet. Can't really say if it's functional or not yet. Form what i understood there were a few northern countries which released FOTA.
How it has been changed for you? What yo have done?
I have 2 Galaxy S IIs, One I9100 and second I9100G
On I9100G update from mobile works fine on 3G data network, I updated my 2.3.3 to 2.3.6
But on my I9100, I am facing this problem of connection failed...
I have tried many things, factory reset many times, but this issue not solved...
What you have done to solve this issue?

Pros and Cons of Latest Indian firmware DDKQ5

Hi Folks,
We have got a latest firmware DDKQ5 via Kies.
Lets make use of this thread to discuss about the additional features, Pros/Cons of this version.
I made a call to the samsung customer care on their toll free number this evening.
I was inquiring when the GB update would be released in India!
The call went to a senior authority as the initial guy who spoke to me was not aware of what i was speaking about.
Then i was told that they are not sure when the official release would be done.
I kept on asking that for other regions its there, why not India, then that guy told me, they have not released it via KIES yet, but if i want a GB update i can go to the service center and upgrade.
YES! THEY SAID WALK IN TO THE SERVICE CENTER AND GET IT FLASHED WITH GB
Then i called the nearest service center asking for updates, they said that still they did not get it from Samsung, they will get it next week (September 1st week).
Lets hope for the best.
Can u guys check with the nearest service center and reply??

Guys, can you upload this KQ5? When you update with kies you can find new firmware as one package fw in temporary files.

I'd like to know if Link2SD works with this? Has anyone tried? Because the internal memory is too low and I definitely can't live without a real A2SD solution. Also, rooting works too, right?

Can't delete/transfer files

Ever since the ICS update yesterday (UK), I can't delete files from my phone using my Laptop and I get a message like "[FILE] could not be detected. The device has either stopped responding or has been disconnected."
Has anyone else had that problem?

which update are you talking about? the ICS one or the ones after ICS? 6.1.A.0.453 or .54 etc?
anyway i suggest you repair/reinstall your phone with Sony Update Service. remember to back up your stuff.
