FOTA will be slowly rolled out if the present test works .
jje

For me it has changed since 2 days ago. When i check for updates it says: Samsung account has already been added, but there's no firmware update yet. Can't really say if it's functional or not yet. Form what i understood there were a few northern countries which released FOTA.

How it has been changed for you? What yo have done?
I have 2 Galaxy S IIs, One I9100 and second I9100G
On I9100G update from mobile works fine on 3G data network, I updated my 2.3.3 to 2.3.6
But on my I9100, I am facing this problem of connection failed...
I have tried many things, factory reset many times, but this issue not solved...
What you have done to solve this issue?

Connectivity problems

Hi All,
I have some problem with my network connectivity. Since I bought my Galaxy s3, the network disappears so I'm not able to make any call. I have to restard my mobile to get network back. Some people told me that it is a baseband problem (as I'm in Belgium and my mobile comes from France) so I changed it but I got the same problem but less often.
Can you guys tell me where the problem comes from?
Thank you very much!!

More likely sim card problem or network itself check with your network .
Backup data and factory reset the phone or check for updates via OTA or KIES .

Hi,
I tried it already and it did work for 1 or 2 days and it's coming back again. My sim card was pefectly working with my former phone.
Concerning the updates, everything has been done and i'm now running on Omega v9.1
After all of thatm is it a technical or material problem?
Thanks!!

Omega is not a factory rom so that could be the problem or the modem .
Suggest wipe phone remove rom counter to zero with Triangle |Away flash stock rom and test fails return to service center .

Thanks for the advice! :good:

Problem persist only on wcdma or also on GSM mode?
Wysyłane z mojego GT-I9300 za pomocą Tapatalk 2
Okay. So this isnt 100% confirmed to work but sometimes it does for me. Install the rom u like. Most roms have modems that are suited for most countries so ull be okay on that part. Whe it says no service make sure its no internet and not no service. Then reboot into recovery fix permissions wipe dalvik do whatever u want haha then go to options and then more then clturn on airport then turn it off.
For those with the no service status it either could be talking a while to kick in due to a bad/unsuitable modem with ur rom or u need to find one that suits you. Here are a few helpful links.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1740061
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1646610
there are other links too to explain modems in details. So just give it a lil search and ull be okay

If you want updates you wait for them to be released by your phone network .
Or you join XDA Developers forum and flash a stock rom .
Stock XDA can help KIES or OTA updates its better to try your networks forum .

Problem updating GT19300 tru OTA

Has anyone encountered problem while trying to update firmware tru OTA and receive notification from Samsung saying that 'access to the software update service is provided to users in the order in which they request it. Try again later'?...is this normal? Or its just temporary problem?

Search would have found this is a basic question asked daily .
The answer in very simple language is that the server is overloaded .
Problems with Samsung OTA updates contact Samsung or your phone provider .

My problem started when I got a notofication for an OTA update whilst away from a WiFi hotspot.i told the app to remijd me in 3 hours amd have not been able to ipdate OTA since. Seems like more than just a server problem to me.

Yup, me too had this problem for a week. Made a trip to Samsung service center and had it fixed by the tech support. The tech support offered to flash a latest copy of ICS without telco's bloatware. I took it :good:
I encountered a similar problem mate. Per Casanoaa's advice, updated my firmware using Kies and it worked like a charm.

[Q] Kies doesn't recognise curent firmware version.

I think we've been thru this already, but well:
JB update is not rolling yet.
I think I get your problem, but I just don't get your question.
Tried update/reinstall kies?

I updated/reinstalled it but still doesn't work. In fact this happened to me when i was on android 2.3.6 but somehow it went off by itself.
I get many of those problems with kies.
Thanks for the reply

np.
Now, you gotta clean your device's drivers from your pc. All you need is a clean uninstall right from the root and all should be fine.
Re-Download Kies from the samsung's site and let it update, reboot your pc and plug your device.
Might also wanna check another usb's socket/cable.
Hi,
I check here for the official updates for Samsung, and when I check it here, it still says there no official update yet released for SII.
Samsung has released Jelly Bean update for SIII only.

Note that, This firmware is on test-mode and being tested by Samsung, its build number is I9100XXLSJ, but is seemingly stable and not far from the final version that Samsung will be rolling out soon

[Q] no carrier service

So first and foremost 'I am a noob' and not sure if this is the right place but I consider this a question, with that said I shall explain my issue.
I have changed the firmware on my S3 to 4.2.2 and it was almost successful minus the lack of being able to connect to a carrier.
I have reverted back to 4.0.x and 4.1.x and i still have no service. I am with T-mobile UK and have seen on a nexus 4 based thread that an issue was that t-mobile doesn't work properly on the latest radio version so i flashed that to .27 (the recommended version on said thread) to no avail (I'm thinking maybe this only works for the Nexus 4?).
When i check available networks i get EE, 3 UK, O2 - UK, Vodafone UK, EE. Knowing that t-mobile and orange are now EE i assume the 2 EE options are just renamed from those, however when i select either option I get 'No service, selected network (EE) unavailable'.
I've also spoken to T-Mobile who essentially told me to go *profanity* myself and talk to Samsung... haven't spoken to Samsung yet.
Thank you for any help you can provide.

1st 7 are 0049990. How can I tell if it is intact?
Also Mobile data and roaming ARE turned on
Edit: just took out my battery and seen a different IMEI number first 7 being 3559940... is that going to mean bad things are in store for me?

Not good I'm afraid...your IMEI has become corrupted/deleted, 0049990 is a default one and that won't register on the network.
Did you back up your efs folder before you installed 4.2.2?

You have no EFS backup then all you can try is flash stock rom via Odin .
Fails its a service centre paid for repair .

Can you recommend any? the ones I have tried didn't seem to work.
Edit: Now that I know about the IMEI fault I looked for a solution and found this webpage but I can't test it because there is a broken link there just wanted to know if you think this could work.

That's a different variant of the S3 so I personally wouldn't recommend using that approach.
Get in touch as I suggested in the PM and I'll see if I can help.
Sorry for dropping out of contact, my dad took the phone and insisted he would solve the issue (which he didn't) so when I get home from work today i can start trying to fix it again. Obviously my warranty is voided so T-Mobile telling me to go to Samsung was stupid but i found out I got my contract from carphone warehouse which I forgot (thought i went direct to T-Mobile) and apparently they'll fix it for me... i doubt that very much.
Also I have an S4 now but still want to fix the S3 as i planned for it to be an upgrade for my mum (she needs an upgrade badly)
