Sony smart headset with xperia tablet s - Sony Tablet S

Does anyone know if the Sony Smart Headset (link below) is compatible with the Xperia tablet S? I know the Smart wireless headset is but I didn't want to use a wireless headset so I can conserve the battery. Does the tablet support in-line microphones in its 3.5 mm jack, for that matter?

Xperia Mini best hadsfree for music?

Hi, guys!
I'm new in the Mini section. I've been using X10 Mini for almost an year, but now I'm with a Xperia Mini 2011.
In the past I was using MH810 handsfree and it was having a pretty nice sound, sound remote control on the wire, but it is incompatible with the Mini.
So which handsfree with sound remote control is compatible with the Mini? Only SE Live Sound or there are others?
Thanks in advance for the info!
The 2011 xperia line uses a diferent type of protocol for the 3,5mm connector that's why other headsets are incompatible. I think that your only choices are the models released by Sony Ericsson i.e. Livesound.

I currently have Sony MW600, Hi-Fi Wireless Headset, works via Bluetooth, quality is good enough, costs also less than LiveSound, also has remote control buttons Play/Pause, Next/Previous and volume.
But what you mean, that is incompatible with Mini? Just give it a try, according to me, you have nothing to lose...
The 3.5 mm jacks of the X10 Mini and the Xperia Mini are different - that's why they're incompatible and the wonderful MH810 handsfree cannot work on the Xperia Mini.
What about putting a 3.5 mm jack on to a HPM 82 handsfree instead of the fast-connector - will it work?
I'm asking because MH1 Livesound is not being sold in Bulgaria, so I should order it from amazon.uk maybe.
What do you mean, that does not work? No sound or controls don't work or what?
Take a look in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1229622
summary: buy the gadget linked there and get any iphone compatible headset you want.
Someguyfromhell, I mean the jacks are DIFFERENT!!! Why don't you look at them in Google? Why should you ask that questions, as I have already explained that twice?!

It's not directly the phone, that has different jack. Both have 3.5mm jacks, it doesn't make any difference at all.
The headset has additional part, which is...I have no idea, what for. Probably additional functions from the remote control.
One way would be to try getting rid of this additional chip thing, if you are willing to take that risk.

Why do u continue with that stupid... suggestions?! Getting rid of the additional contact-strips will make the remote control of the handsfree completely useless and I will not be able to recieve calls, or sell the handsfree to some X10 Mini owner.
Even Nokia headsets work with Xperia mini, i was shocked to see old nokia headset to be working with my st15i, button, microphone, everything.
If you want really good sound - buy big , normal headphones.

I've tried Nokia headphones a few days ago, they did have remote control for the music player on the wire, but... they didn't worked with the mini. Or at least the remote control didn't. There was sound, but no control over it. Maybe because they were a cheap Chinese copy.
I found my old X1 lead, it has a socket on the mic for use with any headphones
Also old SE HPM-80 in ear headphones are good

Yep, they're like HPM 82 with display on the remote control, but with a fastport again. I'll try to solder a 3.5mm jack to a HPM 82 handsfree (to replace the fastport), but I may not succeed because there are 8 or 9 cables out of the wire and only 4 holes to solder them on the 3.5mm jack...
using easy sennheiser headphones, awesome for less money
I've got second hand Sony Ericsson MH1 for half price. Not so special, good sound, not better than the old HPM-82 or MH810 for example. And the lack of a clip for hanging on the neck piece is obviously a disadvantage! The free is constantly slipping down and pulling the ears - very annoying!
The lack of separate buttons for changing the music tracks is also a disadvantage - music tracks are changed with continuous pressing the volume buttons of the handsfree's remote control, not with separate buttons like on the HPM-82 or MH810. But it seems that this is due to the 3.5mm jack cable-number connectivity limitation. The MH810 has some additional ports on the side of the 3.5mm jack, which allow it to have more buttons on the remote control, while MH1 doesn't have them on the jack.
guys i've been looking for budget headphones that would fit in xperia mini's jack
i don't know if it would help but i tried couple of nokia headphones that worked with the device along with the samsung corby pro's stock stock headphones and they all worked currently im considering buying
MEElectronics M9-SL
or the
iLuv iEP322BLK citylights
but i don't know if any of those is compatible with the xperia mini anyway so advice would be appreciated
Note:I just want music to my ears
Xperia Mini has regular 3.5 mm jack, so you can use any headphones(with 3.5mm jack) with the phone.

I wont buy any sony's earphones or use the ones that came with the device cos those are just crap
actually i'm now considering one of the following but don't know if they would work or not
1-MEElectronics M9
2-JVC Xtreme Xplosives FX1X
3-Koss KSC 75
4-SkullCandy Titan
5-iLuv iep322
i only found the iep322 and the titan in local stores however the titan is a bit expensive would be my last choice just before the iep322

3.5mm

As for Sony 2011 Android phones, the 3.5mm is not compatible with almost all normal 3.5mm headset (headset, not headphone, headphone works fine while most headset can't be recognized - when it can't be recognized, it cannot be used for phone calls nor listening music) I can only manage to work with the in-box head set. Even Sony's own headset does not work
So has the Xperia S fixed this issue?

Yes, the Xperia S uses the same 3.5 as the iPhone (and thus most headsets).

I am sorry, but I barely understand your problem. Sony Ericsson phones, so up to 2011 (Arc, Arc S, Ray, Play, Neo, X10, Mini Pro, etc.) use 3.5mm jack using OMTP standard. New Xperia line from 2012 (Sony branded phones - Xperia S, P and U) use CTIA standard of 3.5mm jack (same as iPhone). So headset (with mic) from 2011 phone won't fully work with Sony Xperia from 2012, and headset from Sony Xperia S (2012) won't fully work on phone from 2011.
By fully work I mean, you possibly won't be able to use button to redial, or skip tracks in media player, possibly problems with sound as well. So there is no issue Sony has to fix.

Oh so I don't understand Sony decision about using a different standard on 2011 devices. Now I stick with the headset comes in the box for my ray, or use bluetooth. I hope I can use my beats headset after the ICS upgrade for my ray.

That was an Ericsson decision I think - Sony themselves made CTIA headsets for the iDevices.
I do not think your beats headset will work on the Ray, as I *believe* it's hardware, not software. Otherwise, anyone with a custom ROM on the SE phones could have used the CTIA headsets.
Just received my Xperia play. The sound seems abnormal, muffled, no bass at all. Mine didn't come with earphones. Tried several earphones and headphones but saw no difference. What might be the problem?
I'm able to use all the headset functions from my HTC Desire Z headset (2010) on my Xperia P (2012)
I haven't tried on any 2011 devices though.

self made mini jack adapter for livesound etc.

hi there
I just want to use my favorite livesound headset and unfortunately it doesn't work
search google and found the way
(swap the mic and gnd pins)
and here is some photos of working great livesound and se live walkman orginal headset via my adapter (and it's better than wire adapter becouse it can't scratch a display)
by the way I will make epoxide body to it
Jack Pin converter is available in Market for live hifi headset to use in sony xperia s,Any idea.

[Q] Headset compatibility

Hi,
I have two headsets (stereo headphones + microphone) that I got with some Xperia phones.
when I plug it to Sony tablet S, sound is not good, it seems music is good but when it comes to words in song, it's so quiet and not understandable. When I press answer button on headset (the only one that is present on it) and hold it, sound is great.
I believe the mic is working but I'm not entirely sure because I don't know how good can I cover built in one while testing.
Simple stereo headphones work great.
This is strange to me because I thought this jack is standardized. And even if it isn't I use Sony Ericsson headsets with Sony tablet.
What can I do to make this work?
Do I need some kind of adapter or can something be done in software?
the strange thing is that I can hear everything just bad. so it couldn't be bad pinning or I wouldn't hear anything?
Thank you!
headset and headphones that work all three buttons & mic
- urbeats
- htc beats solo
- Sony smart headset
- Nocs NS200H-001

Sony Xperia z2 problem with headphones

Good day dear friends!
I bought Great headphones i.Valux Hybrid Dynamic+Balanced Armature Dual-Driver HiFi IEMS Headphone Earphone with Inline Microphone & Remote Earbud Headset
They sound really cool. But there was a problem. They are available with built-mikroofon knoopkoy. All smartphones with android button works properly. But by connecting them to my Sonya button instead of working as expected (one press - answer a call, press the two - switch tracks), a button to increase the volume.
On the forums of our country told me that this feature Jack smartphones Sony. Tell me how to solve this problem. Maybe there is an adapter with a standard jack to jack Sony?
Another observed fact. When you connect these headphones noticeable high-quiet noise ............
Maybe there are some 3.5 adapter for Sony Jack? If there is then let the link.
Maybe Sony not support that type of 3,5 mm jack.Adapter 3,5 to 3,5 mm exist,i have no link, but i saw somewhere on the net.
