[Q] Audio only routes through audio jack. Any known fix? - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My son is using my old vibrant and still has 2 months before he can upgrade, or I'd just replace it.
I've tried a couple toggles that used to work on early GB roms, but they crash on AOKP JB M1. I'd prefer not to have to flash the ROM/a new ROM, as I don't like trouble shooting phones I hardly get to use, and he can't report errors accurately at all.
Any experience with this issue?

Re-flashed ROM, still no go. I'm now thinking it's a hardware problem.

[Q] GB ROM with working 911 and headphone button

Hello all,
I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction to a Gingerbread ROM with a working media start/stop/call end headphone button (I'm using the OEM headphones that came with the phone) and 911. Both of these issues are documented bugs.
I've tried CM 7 and a couple of MIUI ROMs and the non-functioning headphone is pretty much a deal breaker, as I use my Vibrant for podcasts more or less everyday; the fact that 911 doesn't work just seems dangerous.
I've scanned lots of posts for different ROMs and neither issue really seems to come up telling me one way or the other and I don't have a day to load every single available GB ROM and figure it out via trial and error. Search hasn't been particularly revealing either.
For now, it's back to Team Whiskey NextGen v2, but I've tasted Gingerbread and I like it.
Thanks for your time.
The 911 issue should be fixed in the future. As for the head phone button issue - it will never be fixed until the GB source drops for our vibrant.
The button function is a kernel issue, not a ROM issue. The current kernels are ports of other phones hacked to work for our phone (thus another reason not so good battery life). (IE: I9000 kernels)
Don't hold your breath - don't think GB source will ever drop for our phones - Samsung dropped us like a wet diaper.

4.3 Sound issues

Hi Everyone,
So I recently made the switch from 4.2.2 to 4.3 today morning. I went from dvhexer's CM10.1 to CM10.2 and found that everything is nice and smooth and fast - installed without problems etc.
Then I made my first call to check my voice-mail and I got no sound from the earpiece on the phone. Being the clever fella I am, I turned on the speaker and I could hear that the call was in progress. I next tried headphones and that worked too. So I googled the issue to see and I saw a couple people who had similar issues.
I flashed several modems/radios (including some hybrid morrislee variety), flashed several kernels but ultimately couldn't get the sound to work. I also tried bruthaedhung's PACman Rom (4.3) and it had the same issue. Does anyone here have a fix for this issue? I'm in a health related professional grad schools so privacy in calls is kinda important and I can't always have speaker phone calls!
Thanks for your help!
EDIT:
My LGOG has not been converted to an N4 (Ever) it is currently running CM10.1 without any issue (no hardware failure). The only thing that may be different here is that I am on T-Mobile instead of AT&T (unlocked AT&T model). The problem is only showing up on the custom built 4.3 roms.

[Q] Camrecorder Microphone

Hello XDA,
Recently I've acquired a Razr (and I must say, this thing's great ), and have gone into my usual habit of slapping on different roms on it much like many of my previous Android devices.
In the process of doing so, I have noticed that many (if not most) of the 4.2/4.3 roms which are AOSP/CM based, they have some issues when recording video. The problem is that upon reviewing a piece of video which had been recorded with the camera, the audio channels are very off center. This led to my realization that the back microphone is the left channel, while the front microphone becomes the right channel.
Although this bug is not very critical, I was wondering if there are any known fixes for this. I have tried googling this problem, but it doesn't seem like many people have noticed/cared about this.
Thanks for reading, hoping that someone could shed some light on this issue!
EDIT: I'm currently running AOKP MR2 with JBX 1.4 Kernel, as well as Artmod 4.31. Artmod does not have this problem as it is stock based.

[Q] Comparison of AOSP ROMs for MDK phones

I'm trying to figure out what the most stable and functional ROM is for my MDK VZW S4. I've tried to research this several times but I find that I have to essentially read through every thread for every ROM, and even then there are things that are left out. My previous phone was a Galaxy Nexus, so I was probably spoiled by the wealth of information about the various ROMs, but there's no reason we can't have a thread like this.
History of my ROM usage with my S4
I started out with Hyperdrive ROMs but later decided I just couldn't deal with TW no matter how much work the Hyperdrive guys did try to clean it up (kudos to them for the best ROM for people stuck with a locked bootloader though!).
Next up I went to Gummy ROM to try out 4.4, which honestly hasn't really impressed me. My GPS never works right, seemingly related to the compass problem? Not sure here, but this is a major deal breaker for me.
Problems I've had and seen mentioned in multiple threads; are these fixed in ANY ROM???
The above mentioned compass problems. I've read about factory calibration issues, I'm going to try a few of those fixes, but I also see a LOT of people saying this is a driver issue? Which is it?
HDR camera doesn't work, attempting to use it just makes solid black pics.
Bluetooth audio playback problems. I've heard this mentioned many times, but haven't had a chance to test myself. This only becomes a big deal for me in the summer when I'm using this feature to stream music to the stereo on my boat.
Thanks!
Dan

[Q] Distorted audio during voice calls with Cyano & Aosp ROMs

Hi everyone!
I've a big problem with my S3 i9300! As you know, Touchwiz ROMs can be appreciated or not for their appearance but one thing is certain: on heavy use or with many apps installed it's a continuous pain to use them. The phone begins to be soooo laggy, to get stuck and so on...
The best solution I always found was to flash Cyano or similar ROMs that give new life to my device. Wonderful, isn't it? Well... it should be like this but... here comes the issue: using Cyano and AOSP ROMs almost 4 times out of 10 calls' audio is VERY DISTORTED... it crackles, buzzes and things like these. it's impossible to understand the interlocutor and he hears my voce in the same way as I hear his one. It's very annoying because it's not an hardware problem... in fact if I flash back to Sammy ROMs it doesn't occur any more! Never! 0 times out of 10! I tried different Cyanos, like official CM11, early unofficial cm12 weekly 6 version, recent blisspop... always the same result!
PLEASE HELP ME, I WANT TO GET BACK MY PHONE SMOOTHNESS! :crying:
Annoyingly I've had this intermittent issue like yourself for years as well. Never found a solution, did you ever find a fix?
Done the usual clean builds, clear cache, change modem etc. Still no fix as you said unless reverting back to official Sammy 4.3 ROMs.
