[Q] No service after manual PRL update - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

I tried updating the PRL to one of the verizon hacked ones with CDMA Workshop. It succeeded, according to it, but now I have no service, not on sprint nor any other network. I can try and flash apparently any PRLs (have tried 11115, 11119, 12121, 12123, 24004, 60686, 60687, 60690 currently on this). I've tried flashing different roms altogether, and no difference - CM didn't work, currently on MeanRom. Most of the ## codes don't work, come up really slow, like 1-2 minutes, and the ones that ask for the MSL say it's the wrong password. MSL reader and cdma workshop both confirmed it's the right one. I've tried flashing two different radios via TWRP and while the update was successful, still no data. The phone is rooted, has TWRP 2.3.1.0, S-ON
HBOOT - 1.19.0000
Radio 1.12.11.0809
It seems to me that the radio go somehow bricked by CDMA Workshop. Anything else I can try? Are there any complete, stock-like roms (or non-stock, don't really care at this point) that will wipe/upgrade radio, PRI, etc all over again, even if I have to reprovision it? I have a feeling from the unresponsiveness of the radio it's pointless to try and reprovision it now with sprint.
The other weird thing, under monitor tab in CDMA Workshop, I can see it try to come up but going blank, maybe every 7-10 seconds... it clearly doesn't like something.
Need help before I have to activate my old samsung epic, that phone is like a bad std, it just won't go away.

S-on phones don't have direct access to boot or misc partitions. Unless you have hboot 1.12, I don't see you updating the radios through twrp or otherwise. Since I'm not very familiar with CDMA workshop I can't offer much advice. Try forcing a hands free activation. From the dialer type ##786#. Select menu, reset and enter msl. This will force a reset of your os. Maybe someone more knowledgeable can help.

Gotcha - on the S-on stuff... actually working on getting a USB ubuntu drive going now. ##786# comes up very slow, if it comes up at all, and then tells me the password isn't good. How do you flash stuff with the bootloader after I get it to be S-OFF, just put the files in the root of the internal storage, /sdcard? Then reboot to bootloader and?

Updates to firmware should be named PJ75IMG.zip. Place it on external and boot to bootloader. It will look for update files to install and reboot after.
If you are running dirty racun don't use a flash drive, burn it to cd or dvd

Thanks for the tip on the usb vs cd thing. I've gotten to the last step on this list: http://unlimited.io/jewel.htm , but something's going wrong and I can't tell what. I got it to the very last step, got past the reboots, got this:
Code:
Racun is sneaking...
It's a long way to sneak this will take several minutes...
Hiding behind a wall..
Checking for competition...
Checking for predators...
Sneaking around the dog house...
Quit...
Rebooted into bootloader, and it's still S-ON. Tried it again, from the sudo ./RabiesShot command, same thing. Ideas?

Try a different usb, make sure it's usb 2.0 and not 3 or 1. Make sure sd has enough space and read/write access is fast enough

it's an older core2duo box I got from work that I was gonna put in the garage. It should be usb 2.0, it's too new to be 1.0 and too old to be 3.0... as for the card, I had a 16gb in, I can put my normal 64gb good card in, but it asked for 2-16gb... Would keeping trying multiple times make a difference or is it the same every time?

What live distribution are you running?

12.04 32 bit.
Was that an actual failure message, is there supposed to be more goofing around or?

I would check with unlimited on irc, it's listed on their site

I got it working - got the S-OFF installed succesfully - had to reformat the sd card in a computer for some reason, and the 2nd time around it worked fine. When the phone came back up it also reactivated itself and updated its own PRL, data and 3g work now. I think I'm done trying to change the PRL for a few days...

Alltel 6800 Flashing Instructions for Lazy People (6.1 Update)

Alright so here is the premise. I had a good ol time trying to figure out what to download and where to go, what to do, etc, so i thought i would give anyone interested a step by step tutorial (only for you alltel people, vzw can fend for themselves). Please read all the instructions before you do anything, i can jump around a bit sometimes.
Yes, this should enable your GPS and Rev A. No, I will not be responsible if you destroy you phone (although highly unlikely...)
1. download the newest bootloader.
1a. file can be found here
1b. install the bootloader.
1c. this opens up a dos prompt. read it carefully and make sure your phone is already connected when you open the application.
1c. i believe the second time it asks you to "press a key to continue" you need to disconnect your phone and plug it back in. it tells you to do this so just read the directions.
1d. if it reads out that your phone cant be contacted and to check your cable, its probably because you didnt do step 2b.
2. download and install the new radios.
2a. Dont freak, we are going to download a sprint rom.
2b. Download it from here
2c. Run the exe with your phone plugged in.
2d. IMPORTANT: Once the flash is done, the phone will boot up. It will ask you to tap the screen to begin. If you tap, you Fail. Dont tap the screen.
2e. Move to step three.
3. Almost there, now we are getting a good ol' cooked ROM to run on it.
3a. Download DCD's kitchen here. You will also need to download Visual C++ and .Net Framework from here and here
3b. Once downloaded, click on build rom, you will see a bunch of fancy command prompt windows. Just let it sit there for a while. You will see a window come up with a bunch of check boxes. Really click whatever you want. The default selections should be enough to satisfy you. The only thing you need to make sure to do is click on "Alltel" in the carrier screen and click off of "Sprint", the default.
3c. Once you have selected what you want (again I encourage to just use the defaults and maybe add office or entertainment or something), then click the play button at the top. Once the window shows its done loading, click the x to close out of the builder. The command prompt window will start spewing information again at you. Disregard that, its not really vital.
3d. After the command prompt finishes the tizzy it got itself into, the HTC flashing application will automatically launch. Follow through in this window and it will eventually flash you phone. Thats really all you have to do!
Final Thoughts: This guide will also work with any of the other carriers that DCD's new kitchen supports. Thats pretty much everyone because, he is, you know, the man and all. The only thing you have to change is the selection of you carrier when you are "building" your rom. For the specifics of this guide I choose alltel but you can use whatever you want assuming it matches your carrier.
Please write down your Programming information before you do this flash. And its important to know your MSL if you have one of those BS carriers that changes it (unlike alltel). If you need to reprogram your phone, dial ##000000+send and put in your nam information. If you need to still set you A-Key or HDR password (more advanced stuff, the A key allows some sort of authentication and HDR password (located in the security section) allows you to connect to EVDO networks) then you can access the more advanced EPST menu with ##778+send.
Make sure you update with *228 to get the latest PRL or search around online.
Happy Flashing!
Feel free to send me a message if you have any questions or if i left something out
ALSO THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO MADE THIS POSSIBLE AT XDA, GREATEST PHONE SITE IN EXISTENCE
Finally, a step by step for Alltel folks...Thanks. My head was spinning trying to piece together everything from all the various posts.
Terrific write up.
If you can, include where to find the MDN, MSID, and AKEY before upgrading so that these can be re-installed if erased...
Old roms don't work
Nice guide, but you should also note that older roms have a compatibility issue with the new radio upgrade. it seems right now only dcd's cooked rom works; for me at least.
The information you are looking for can be found by using the advanced EPST feature in the phone. assuming you are using a stock dialer (or one that supports codes) inut "##778" and then press call. it will bring up a menue and ask to view or edit. If you are getting your info, of course, press view and if you are replacing info, just click edit. all the info like your mdn and min (which you should know without having to look in here) will be here. clicking the menu on the taskbar will let you choose an entire metric ****ton of info to view. a key is one of them. I noticed now that going back, my akey is not inputted. i dont know what this value is but in the past i think i have seen it as just "0" or blank. I was foolish and didnt write it down before the flash. if anyone has anything diferent in their akey, wanna post it?
update prl
alright so i think i solved the problem with the roaming issue and the EVDO connectivity. and i feel like an idiot. for some reason i just kept on putting off updating the prl since i flashed it. and for another reason i didnt think it would matter. but i have since used the latest prl and updated completely and, wouldntyouknowit, it works perfect. steps?
1. download the newest prl here.
2. bluetooth or copy to your phone
3. open the dialer and press "##775" (this spells prl)
4. enter your unlock code, should be 000000
5. click on update prl, then menu at the bottom then edit
6. browse to where the prl is on your phone (probably my docs if you BTed it)
7. update and restart, voila!
8. enjoy having EVDO and no triangle again! WOOT!
just wondering, after following through all those steps, do we need to relock it?
Also want to note that, this method does indeed work for all providers (alltel, vzw, sprint), it's just the step where you have to flash your rom (DCD's or any other) make sure it is the one with your provider. I made a mistake of downloading the Alltel rom when I'm really a Sprint user :x.
Have any of you folks been able to get OfficeSync to work with this ROM? I can surf the web but am unable to register with my account.
I was hung up in between steps 2 and 3. The screen was stuck on the Alltel screen and I couldn't connect with my pc to install the ROM. I followed other instructions to use a FAT32 formatted SD card with the ROM renamed to TITAIMG.nbh. Reset into bootloader mode by holding the power and camera buttons and hard reset. Run the setup from there... Hope this helps someone else.

I never locked my phone and it works fine. So I am guessing no, you dont. And yeah you are correct it should work fine with any of DCD's roms, i just know the alltel one was a success for me, didnt want to lead someone astray. I know the telus one, for example, was bugged at first. idk
This is my first modification to my cell phone...just got it! Is there a setting I check to verify the GPS is working? I just looked around and all I saw were settings for connectiong external GPS devices. Also, when i go to communications manager...there is no setting for GPS. Shouldn't there be a way to turn GPS on and off? Thanks for the help!
Ok....I don't think mine is working because I installed Google Maps and clicked track location and it just stayed at Contacting Satellites (0)...I think I may have messed it up because I installed the SPL first, then the DCD's OS and last the radios...i went back and tried to reinstall everything int he correct order, but now the radio ROM says it's not created for my device.
Is there a way to start over with a fresh install so I can try this again and do it in the correct order this time? Please help! Thanks!
Well im having problems. I installed the new rom via sd card. Everything seemed to go smooth, but when wm starts up and goes through the align screen thing it just restarts and never starts up.

If you want to start from a blank slate you should be able to install a factory ROM and then begin again from there. It's my understanding that the proper order should be: New SPL --> DCD's ROM --> New Radio
I myself, when following this order, got stuck at the Alltel splash screen after I installed DCD's ROM, but before installing the radio. A reboot with the camera and power buttons held down simultaneously got me into bootloader. From there the ROM installer could recognize the device and proceed with the radio install.
If you click on the data arrow icon at the top, what does it say?
Mine says:
"Alltel Wireless (Dial-up) Connected"
I cant remember before what it said when connected but my download high was 497kps & 97kbps for upload. Either the area I am in doesnt have Rev A (Which I think is the case based upon EVDOMAPS) or my data connection is now hindered...

I personally have not been able to reach an EVDO signal at all. in an area where i was always at EVDO, now im mostly shown as roaming and in 1x. I have most recent prl and my SIDs are correct. i think there is a reason this rom is still in beta....
Have you tried the *228, press 3 then *228 then press 2? I had the roaming indicator flashing with 1X until I completed the steps above...
axcess shop
downloaded wm6.1 and it work great but is there a way to get alltels axcess shop back or no thank you
evdo
i am not romeing but i cant get a go evdo ether just 1x i did *228 and still only get 1x any way to fix this thank you
Check my Reply in this Post! The instructions will get your phone locked back onto EVDO. Not sure what your problem is with the roaming, haven't had any problems with that. I would recheck the SID in EPST again!

Be connected to activestink.
(even if your device only boots to the windows splash screen activestink can still connect enough to load this 1.2 bootloader)
Run TitanUnlocker.exe from first folder
FOLOW THE ON SCREEN DIRECTIONS EXACTLY
INCLUDING THE UNPLUGING AND PLUGING BACK IN PART
Be patient and be sure that it is complete.
Then without disconecting, or restarting your device
go to the second directory and folow these directions...
While stil in bootloader mode run ROMUpdateUtility.exe
Follow the onsreen directions.
When your device boots up - LET THE VERIZON CUSTOMIZATIONS RUN.
Enjoy being back on Verizons service.
Now go load whatever roms you feel comfortable running.....
You may need a different bootloader for some roms.

I let the customizations run after loading the SPRINT 3.35 Rom updater on my XC6800, I don't think the problem was loading the rom, but letting the damned sprint customizations install instead of a quick reset.
*
I have tried a hell of a lot to resolve this and am convinced that at this point it is going to take a verizon stock rom - the whole thing - to start from scratch and get back from the evil grips of those sprint towers (you sprinters would think the same if in our shoes)...
*
Unfortunately I have not found everything to piece together an entire orig vz rom.
*
The first bad thing that the sprint customizations does is resets the MSL, so now instead of using 000000 as always, you have to find "GetSPC", run it giving it your ESN (under battery) to find out your new "sprintized MSL". This causes you to use sprints towers for everything, add to the fact that it loads a sprint PRL and you are now "stuck on sprint".* when you dial *228 you get a sprint recorded voice that this number is not valid.
Having a xv6700 laying around I was able to set nearly everything in EPST back to where it needed to be (see screen shots)- that got me making calls (roaming) but no i-net, and no *228...
*
Called Data tech support for a aKey, they gave it to me, that didn't work.
*
Dl'ed a vz PRL from http://www.corolada.com/prl/
That got me to be able to connect to vz by dialing *228, but no love, it says "sorry call cust serv...".
*
Went to a corp VZ store and looked at all the settings in EPST changed a couple more, that didn't work.
*
Spoke to the lead geek in charge there and fessed up, he said that it was because of the MSL code change, that *228 sends the 000000 “service sub lock code” to unlock the SPL (EPST) and if the code is different, it will never connect to *228 right (well maybe after they open up their network more, but that is at least months away).* So I said what if I was with sprint and wanted to "convert"? He said they would need sprint to set the MSL to 000000, which would likely be done by sending it in to sprint, then sprint sending it to HTC (I'm sure we can come up w/ something better).
*
After leaving, I received a follow up call from my escalated trouble ticket, and the girl reset my “DMU keys” that finally got me to have i-net (still no *228 love though).
*
So now I am at a OK place, everything works but still roaming, place and receive calls, received network texts from cust serv, and have i-net. However I didn’t want to go through all the set up on my phone just to hard reset anyway so I started off on a quest to find a legit vzw rom.
People keep saying it's posted here, or there or everywhere, I HAVE TRIED everyone I have found and have NOT been able to reset the radio to Verizons peramaters.
Any help out there as to finding the STOCK VERIZON RADIO or best the whole stock verizon rom package?
for those who need help getting the EPST setup I will post the current settings I am using in screenshots.
** I will update this post to reflect the best solution if the thread gets cumbersome.
I used the stock Verizon ROM at:
ftp://up.ppcgeeks.com/Titan/CarrierRoms/Verizon_Stock_ROM/VZW_Passworded_Ruu_signed
I had a similar type issue and I'm working fine now. You'll see a solved post from me with a GPS issue. Hope that helps.

Here is a repost of my earlier posting on this subject. This will resolve your issues if your Verizon phone has been "Sprintized" or help you restore your phone before returning it to Verizon.
To set your phone back to the default Verizon ROM, do the following:
Download all necessary files 1) Titan Re-locker 2) Stock Verizon ROM 3) ROM Update Utility
Unzip/rar the Stock ROM and the RUU (unrar using WinRAR) ****DO NOT UNZIP THE RELOCKER**** (it is a self extracting zip and will run properly as is)
Place the Ruu_signed.nbh file in the RUU folder
Hard reset your phone by holding down both softkeys, hitting reset, and pressing R (just for good measure)
Connect your phone to your PC and make sure ActiveSync is connected
Re-lock your phone by running Titan_Relocker.exe
Place the stock Verizon ROM in the RUU folder
Run the RUU by running ROMUpdateUtility.exe
For good measure, let the Verizon ROM complete its setup.
I'm doing this from memory so please let me know if I missed a step so that I can update this post.
I hope this is helpful.

Was running 2.3.2 w/ the 3.27 radio. Just updated.
Here were my steps:
Performed hard reset
Connected phone to PC and made sure AS was connected
Ran the Sprint updater
Upon reboot I forced phone into bootloader mode (did this while HTC screen was beginning to appear)
Cooked ROM in DCDs Kitchen...added several options
Ran updater
Notes:
Never had to run *228. Phone and internet confirmed to work correctly. Syncing w/ AS right now, configuring Exchange AS.
Will report back more later, but so far so good.

(coming from DCD 1.70 and radio 2.13)
1. Load Olipro 1.20 unlocker (my phone was re-locked after 1.70 ROM)
2. Flash radio
--Reboot was stuck on verizon screen after radio- entered bootloader mode by pressing power+camera, and inserting stylus for reboot. Entered bootloader successfully.
3. Cooked verizon-based rom from DCD 3.0.0 kitchen
4. Flashed ROM
This brought me to the new radio and rom, BUT... when disconected from the desktop, entered the dreaded constant reboot situation, so...
5. Reattached to desktop- this stopped the rebooting. Established activesync.
6. Loaded Olipro 2.40
7. Removed connection from desktop. Removed battery and after reinsert, hard reset device.
8. Ran *228,1 and then *228, 2. Soft reset after each
9. Working great for phone and text. Will play with GPS and report back (yes-- I will enable Location On!)
Thanks DCD for your great work and suggestions along the way here and in the radio thread..

Edit: HA! As I expected...running *228 jacks me up again. Looking for signal. *22802 kicks it back into signal.....looking into it some more.

Thanks

Press camera+power+soft reset
This will take you to the boot screen and you should be able to continue. You should have relocked your bootloader, right?
If so, just go ahead and flash the stock rom.
EDIT: Dont panic. If you are at the Verizon screen your phone is definitely NOT bricked. There are HUNDREDS of cases exactly like your and HUNDREDS more posts telling your exactly how to fix your problem. Search and you shall find.
Even before you actualy get into WinMo even though activestink is not really connected - it is able to connect through and re-flash the bootloader - it took a while to figure that one out for me too...

The moral of the story is, don't let Sprint customization run!
I did and had heck for 2 days. After flashing and re-flashing. i finally got back to original vzw rom, but data still didn't work, even after talking with tech support.
I took my phone to a local vzw store and they were able to fix it.
30 minutes later, I had the dcd3.01 rom installed and everything working perfectly.
Next big rom update, I will wait for others to screw up before jumping in.
....
plz up date the wiki with this
I did that same thing a month ago. Ran the damn Sprint Radio/Rom package and was stuck on Sprint towers. Even going back to the stock Verizon rom didn't help. I manually loaded a PRL and finally had phone calls, but no data. After many hours on the phone with Verizon giving me AKEYs, refresing towers, releasing stuck data sessions.... They finally sent me a replacement phone. Nice to see this issue has finally been resolved.
vx6800 bricked
I am new here but I need some help.
I have read and reread all the various posts but cannot get past the splash screen. During startup, at the bottom it, i get R 1.30.60 and D 3.35. It appears my problem is mismatched ROM and Radio version. However, trying to get back to stock rom, my device is not even detected by activesync and no matter what I do, I end up getting error - device not connected.
Thanks

I got this problem fixed with the help of an uncommonly smart tech support agent.
My first problems started when I accidentally put the sprint rom on my phone and let it boot.
I just called tech support about three times before I saw this post and they couldn't help me and they even did a DMU key reset without my knowledge and that didn't work. The last guy I talked to told me to bring the phone back into the store that I got it to get it replaced. Not wanting to do that beings that this was the last phone the store had in stock, I did one final search on google and found this site. After reading this post, I called back in to ask them to do a DMU key reset. The tech support agent then informed me that they already did a DMU reset and it obviously didn't work. He then wanted to try "something". He asked me to take the battery out of the phone and leave it like that while he put me on hold. I was on hold for about 3 minutes and when he got back on, he asked me to get back onto the phone and asked me to boot the device up again. He then asked me to dial *228 and let the phone reprogram. After I did that and it rebooted, I was able to use data. Whoohooo!!!!
I asked him what he did for my own personal benefit and he informed me that he actually temporarly removed my data package from my plan and reaplied it. But it was important that the device was turned off while he did it. Hence, the removal of the battery. I was very pleased with this guy. I thanked him profusely.
I'm posting this for the benefit of other people who are having problems with their data package after installing the sprint rom.
I haven't posted before, but I have a pretty difficult problem.
I tried installing one of those Sprint ROM/Radio setups on my phone, and like a dummy I let the customizations run. So here's what I did:
1) I flashed back to Verizon stock using the relocker and stock radio/rom. Once completed, it still shows roaming.
2) Then I used *228 option 1, then option 2, and the roaming icon goes away. Oh yeah, I also get the message "we are currently unable to authenticate your phone". No problem, not going to do anything else yet until I get a ROM/Radio combo I want.
3) Then I flashed the unlocker and (insert ROM/Radio combo here). I've tried most of them, following the compatibility list posted on this site. Most version of DCD's, 5067 (or whatever the # is), and radios 3.35, 3.37, 3.39, 3.49, etc. Once I get everything set, get a new A-key, I'm still roaming. The bottom line is that it doesn't matter what I use; the phone goes back into roaming mode. I then tried *228 option 1/option 2. *22899 does not work at all. I've tried to have them do the DMU resets; that doesn't seem to work. I've downloaded and installed new PRL files; that didn't help. In addition to roaming, my data isn't working either. I gave up and reflashed back to stock using the posted procedure.
4) Go back to step 1. I'm somewhere in this endless loop as we speak.
I can't fix it. I've followed almost every recommendation on this site. Verizon is sending me a new phone. In the meantime, I'd like to continue to try to fix this, but I don't know what else to do. Can anyone help???? Thanks.

ok i am BACK!!! WOOT|WOOT
here is what i did.
Using the files from post 1 of this thread as no others i tried worked!
1 hard reset
2 ran relocker
3 ran ruu utility
4 allowed cust
5 ran *228
finaly no triangle (raoming icon), but not data
6 called VZW CS, explained i had done a hard reset, BLAH...BLAH...DUH...DUH... not sure why this is happening
a. she had me do everything i had already done (*228), reset username and pass...etc.
b. after 30 mins and at last resort, she removed then readded me to the system (reprovisioned, much like when cable internet modems go offline) SUCCESS
remember only use files from post one of the ablve link, others on here, ppcgeeks, smartphonejunkie oddly didnt help!
Now im back up to Rom 20226 radio 3.42... man im hard headed, but i have a kewl phone again!!!! hope this helps!!!!
NOTE: i was not able to use ##778 to manually program!!!!! so if you have a good tech, this may give him clues to your REAL issue.
also look here post 24

quad,
i am waiting (24 to 48 hrs )for their network team to do.... something to my phone, possibly the DMU reset. My tech wasn't able to do that on her own. I'm wondering if i can get a regular tech to do what they did for you....when you say they removed you then added you to the system, not exactly sure what that means
I'm Jealous.....
EDIT: BTW, my data connection settings won't keep a username and pwd stored....keeps dropping them every time after i put em in

Need help with a bad blunder...

Is RUU the most complete, basic reset and wipe of an EVO LTE?
I was following instructions in another thread on how to unlock 3G on PagePlus without a donor phone. It went very poorly.
I had my EVO s-offed, updated rooted and working with voice/sms/1x. Apparently I'm a jackass and thats not quite good enough for me so I followed another guide to get 3g, and when it was done my phone seems to have an identity problem.
I can connect it to CDMA Workshop, put in my MIN and my MDN all of that, but when I go to QPST and connect the port, "Phone" Column cycles between "No Phone", "AO-8960 (0)" and "SURF8960 (8038441D)". COncequently I cannot get QPST Service Programming to stay up long enough to put in the Verizon login values.
I think the mistake was a step where the guide says to flash a NVItems file. Afterwards I added a 10.key file to the DMU folder and when I rebooted afterwards everything was screwy.
It could possibly have something to do with the CDMA-2 IMSI_S value too, since I wrote all 0's to it (since that whats my Droid 2 had there).
I have done a factory reset, and reflashed the radio. What else can I do to get things back to ground 0 to start over? Ill go as far back as it takes. It boots and I am able to get into recovery and all of that.

[Q] Can't Make Calls, But Have 4G LTE Data

Here's my story: About a year and a half ago, I used my phone upgrade on a Droid DNA, but swapped back to my old flip phone to avoid having to pay $30 for Data and just keep the phone for the Wi-Fi access and other epicness. About a year ago, I decided to try out beaups' Moonshine s-off so I could start putting custom ROMs on it. Unfortuately with my luck (probably bumped the cable) it failed halfway through the moonshining process and made my phone really glitchy with force closes (and deleted all my data, but meh..). Fortunately, I went to the Moonshine IRC and they were so Awesome! They helped me troubleshoot my issue, guided me though making an Ubuntu Live CD, and used TeamViewer to get my phone back in working order. I will always be extremely grateful for their help!
Fast forward to today: I finally decide I want to go for the data plan, so I call up Verizon and go through the process of getting the phone service back on my Droid DNA. Unfortunately, after the whole process, the phone won't make any outgoing calls or receive any incoming calls. However, I still had 3-4 signal bars and I could surf the internet on '4G LTE'. I figured the ROM I had installed was no good, so I tried out 3 other ROMs and all of them had the same issue. I decided I would restore the phone to my first TWRP backup (from right after we solved the Moonshining issue), however even that gave me the same results.
TL;DR - I am rooted with s-off. I cannot make outgoing calls or receive incoming calls, however strangely enough I have 4G Data.
Under 'Phone Identity' in the settings, the Model Number, IMEI, Device serial number, SIM ID, MEID, and IMSI numbers all show up. But the Phone number only shows "0000000000".
I assume that the issue was always there after I had done the moonshining, but never encountered it until I decided to actually use it as a phone.
I'm not sure what I should try from here. Any help or assistance you can give me is greatly appreciated, and Thank you!
I would call Verizon. Sounds like something on their end. Have them reset your network. Try to take out the sim and reinsert.
HTC DNA
LG Optimus G
Unfortunately, that's not it. I went through the whole process of getting the phone service back on my Droid DNA up to level 2 support.
Sounds like the radio is messed up. 4G is data only, the partition for voice and sms is 1xRTT or EVDO. Back everything up to your PC and run an ruu, then after the ruu completes, run "factory data reset" from bootloader. That should hopefully fix your radio issue.
Be warned! Ruu will erase everything on your phone and return it to stock (you will keep unlock and s-off though, so you can flash custom recovery and flash your Rom again). You could try to restore your nandroid, but it may screw up your radio again.

Sorry for the delay. I actually hadn't tried an RUU yet, so I got the '3.06.605.4' Sense 5 one from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2612740 and tried running it on my Windows 7.
Unfortunately it didn't work and gave me a message saying:
"ERROR [158]: IMAGE ERROR
The ROM Update Utility cannot update your Android phone. Please get the correct ROM Update Utility and try again."
I actually think the drivers may be messed up on that computer (adb and HTC Sync won't see the phone connected, but sometimes I can transfer files). I have a new windows 7 computer that I've never used before, but I can't seem to find the right drivers/tools that I would need for the RUU to work properly this time. Would you happen to have links to them, per chance?

SIM card in but can't connect to any Network Service :(

Hi All,
I have an HTC Desire 601 phone that won't connect to a network service. This phone is a side project I've been working on. I replaced the screen and digitizer (the screen was shattered). I also unlocked the phone with a SIM unlock code.
Now, no matter what SIM card I input, it won't connect to a network. I've checked that the IMEI number is not blacklisted (it is not). It registers a sim card is inserted, but won't connect to a network -> I receive the error "SIM card doesn't allow a connection to this network"...every once in a while I'll also get a random "ME returned a temporary error".
I've attempted manually and automatically connecting to a network, but to no avail. I've manually input APN's for different providers, but still nothing. I've basically tried everything that was offered on XDA for other phones with a similar problem but didn't get any positive results.
The phone was previously locked to virgin mobile. I have a couple of theories as to what could be wrong but I'm not sure (I'm newbie when it comes to cell ware and its software, I just like to take things apart and put them back together etc.). One theory is that the unlocking wasn't complete in some form; not sure how though, considering it no longer asks me to input an unlocking code when i insert a different SIM card (i used a Koodo sim card). The other theory I had was the antenna, which I've read is often located in the SIM card slot (or in this case the frame), is damaged (the phone fell and had a shattered screen).
I no longer have a warranty on the phone, so I can't just send it back to replace (plus I like solving problems). I like XDA forums because they helped me flash my ROM on my samsung (after it completed a faulty upgrade and was stuck on download mode). I was wondering if anyone knows what I could do, from a software perspective, or if I should look into finding antenna replacement? (I don't think the sim card reader is broken as it registers a sim card is in there)
PS. sorry for the essay message, I just wanted to provide as much detail as possible

Before investing in some hardware, did you tried a factory reset? Maybe flashing a RUU to set back your phone to 100% stock (this doesn't remove the sim-unlock) could help. If the problem persist after flashing a RUU then yes its probably an hardware problem, its hard to tell what exactly.

I've definitely tried a factory reset, but that didn't work. I haven't flashed the RUU. To be honest, I"m not sure what the RUU is. Is it related to the ROM (I've flashed the ROM on another phone)?

A RUU will restore the original firmware and software on your phone like if it was brand new. If the problem persist after flashing a ruu, its most likely an hardware problem. I have posted a few RUU in the general section, maybe there is one that fit on your phone. Check link in my signature.

Ok, so I've looked for an RUU that matches my model (details below) but I can't find anything (I'm probably looking in the wrong place):
Android version: 4.4.2
Sense: 5.5
Software: 2.14.666.15
SDK APi: 5.69
Can I use an RUU that's close like the one below?(from your thread link)
2.14.666.3 (Bell Mobility) Android 4.4 Sense 5.5
Link: androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347841561.......etc.
