How to figure whether the screen is dead? - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, so I disassembled and the I reassembled the phone as I've done a couple of times in the past without issue but this time around I got a pink screen and uncooperative buttons.
Neither my screen or digitizer seems damaged so where else can the fault lie? What does having a single colour on your screen (when you boot it) means? (I've searched but haven't found anyone with the same problem). Anyone that has encountered the same please do enlighten me...
Thanks.

Erratic touch screen? Please help!

I have a T-Mobile Pocket Phone Edition,
It's had a rough life but as kept going for over 3 years now.
For the last year I would have to realign the screen 2 or 3
times a week but over the last few months it keeps getting worse.
Sometimes the screen won't respond to anything anywhere,
then after I tap it a few times boom works fine.
Sometimes I'll tap on the “Ok” and the “Start menu” will activate.
Sometimes drawing a line up the center of the screen will end up
shooting all over the screen.
And sometime it will work perfectly!
I thought the problems were to erratic to be hardware so
I hard set after awhile it started again,
So I hard set and installed a different ROM after a coupe hours
the problem was back.
Also sometimes the align program will get stuck in a
loop that doesn't end.
I've searched but can't find an answer? Anyone have an idea?
I've already taken it a part once but couldn't see how to get
any further after I toke the back panel off? Please help!
WOW nobody? So no one was heard of this problem before?
Can anyone direct me to directions on taking apart the Wallaby?
Thanks <><
It's a problem with touch screen. You should check (and fix) it.
Maybe it is necessary to press well screen to the motherboard. (Sorry my english).
Ok, Can you tell me where that connection is?
Thanks
Toke everything apart, found the connection, cleaned everything (w/ screen wipe)
put it all back together. Still have the touch problem and now the backlight won't work!
I've found if I press the unit in my hand the touch panel works right,
I don't think it's a lose connection to the main board so I think it must be
one on the main board.
If anybody thinks they want it for parts let me know! :?

Screen help with my X10i

Hope someone can help me with this as it is a bit of a strange 1.
I recently replaced the digitizer screen on my X10i because the one that was on there was smashed up good.
Everything went together ok and it all switched on ok but for some reason only half of the screen will work(the bottom half). exactly half way through the screen/digitizer when it is vertical, it stops working. The top half does not work. The digitizer and everything else is in perfect condition so I am very confused as to what it could be.
I have replaced 100's of screen in the past and have never come across this problem.
Is it possible it could be a software issue? Does the software need to be re-calibrated to suit the screen? sounds a bit odd to me but ya never know.
Any help would be great.
thanks
Nobody can help me with this??

Considering the above, last thing to try is to factory reset the phone. If that doesn't fix it, its a hardware issue.

[Q] Does this happen to anyone else

This is my first post so tell me if i'm doing something wrong. Every once and a while when I touch the screen on my phone, the phone thinks that it is still touching that spot even when I lift my finger up. I have to pop the battery out, and its happening more and more frequently now. It started when I got my screen replaced after a nasty drop. If This is happening to anyone else tell me, did you get your screen replaced?
Thanks,
ERRoRC0DE9999
i've never had my screen replaced but it seems as though somewhere along the lines of getting it replaced the digitizer may not have been properly re-attached. Did you take it somewhere or send it somewhere? Can they re-do it for you?

[Q] Screen hypersensitive ?!?

Hi!
My phone got a broken screen, but I got a replacement device from the insurance.
Trouble is, after a while with screen on the screen seems to become hypersensitive - it's nearly impossible to enter text through the display keyboard or just to zoom and move a webpage
After switching the screen off and back on again immediately it's OK again for a while.
Anyone else seeing this behaviour? I reckon it's a hardware problem, but maybe someone has a different explanation for this problem?

Blank screen, only backlight ON

Hello everyone.
I have a problem with my smartphone Sony Xperia Z2. I dropped it and the display broke. I bought a new display. When I connect he went crazy. He began to open the application, clicking like 10 fingers working on it simultaneously. Because I thought that the display is faulty, I've exchanged for a new one. But now even bigger problem. When I turn on him, he does not show anything on the screen except the backlight. Do you know what the problem is and whether anyone had a similar problem? So, when the smartphone turns on, lights up only the backlight but nothing on the screen showing a. At first, there is a lot of vertical lines on display, and once he just fade out, and from that moment display is blank only backlight working. I try to update software, but nothing change. Restarting, and turning off also nothing.
Please help me solve this, for me very frustrating problem.

Did you ever get this resolved?
I had this issue after a screen replacement for a shattered screen. I was sure I had damaged something in the process (ribbon flex cable, motherboard, etc). Turns out the replacement screen was faulty. A new working screen solved the issue.
